also chat i use going next on hook & disconnecting as one in the same because i'm a bit of a bimbo. i am whining about going next on hook (mostly) in this video, DCing is still cringe though.
I think a major cause of dc'ing that doesn't get talked about much, is DBD's utter lack of "comeback" mechanics.
Let's be honest for a second here, if even one survivor dies, unless there's only a gen or two left, the match Is lost. You could say that hatch counts, but that's only for the final survivor so it's not much of a victory is it?
I'm not sure exactly what could be done about this, but it is an issue. If matches weren't rendered unwinnable so easily, we'd probably see a notable decrease in dc'ing.
Killers complaining about problems they themselves have created will never stop entertaining me
While yeah having a trauma/fear sucks, well ur playing a horror game, so complaining about x on that genre is kinda unrealistic. Its like saying why they dont allow/accomodate pregnant/heart or any other similar condition to do bungie jumping for example. Its just not gonna happen because its not for them atm/at all. Sucks yeah, but such is life, not everything is for u and thats ok.
Been recently getting back into DBD. I stop playing every day frustrated because people rage quit on first hook. It's most games.
Today, I was excited to see chaos shuffle, a game mode I heard of but never got to try. I LOVE the idea. 4 out of 5 of my games had people quit off first hook. And this is in a casual for fun random game mode. And you know what? Several of them got down to 1 gen. It's just so frustrating to lose because of this shit. And it's even worse that I'm now stuck in this game for 10-15 more minutes because of it.
I refuse to get back into this game until this problem is fixed. They need to fix it, or the playerbase will leave.
I think the I bought the game so I do what I want is a fair point if they dont want to play then they dont want to. And having special ques for the ragers and people with specific phobias will do more harm. I think having a mark on their name like R6 when they do team damage as a sign this guy rages. And/or have an endorsement system with only positive upvotes. No negative point since that will be weaponized. And everyone has a point to endorse there team and can choose not to give you a point which after a while lowers amount of games
They just need to remove the dc punishment
Its either dc and calm down or throw the game
i watched my friend stream a game as onryo and a surv gave up halfway through(no hooks on that survivor at 3 gens btw) because they were quote "not playing against an onryo that constantly teleports" like tf she supposed to do not use her ability.
this community is just so irrational tbh
Nothing can be done because there is no incentive to stay in a miserable match. Old ranking system and old BP gains were enough to keep people playing. Right now the game showers players with rewards without even playing.
In all honesty ….. is this "go next" epidemic more of a US thing? While it happens here in the EU as well, it is kind of the same that it always was. I play soloQ as well as killer (mainly Doctor, so not exactly a massive crowd pleaser) and I don't feel like there is an uptick in DCing or giving up on hook.
😂
If someone is such a baby maybe they should quit this game or grow a pair
If people quit after one hook or one chase thats on them. People take this silly and fun game too seriously. Rife with entitled killers and/or survivors.
Its not even rage quiting. It is just bitch quiting. Your gameplay is superb
I play with a deaf person and the spirit and wraith give them a lot of problems.
Network problems are the only times i have ever dc
i recently started playinh spirit and the amount of people that give up just because its spirit is crazy, im not even good at her but everyone dcs
Killers playing like they're competing for a $1000 cash prize eat away at my sanity. Plague camping a guy at 4 gens then camps me at 4 gens and looking around all paranoid like they're about to lose the match. It's actually insane.
Almost nothing you can do about it in solo queue either.
people who bring the map always dc first smh it’s always them lmao but fr they need to remove the dc penalty so at least we get bots everytime they don’t want to play
ashleyapplesauce is wild☠️☠️☠️
It’s not my fault the game randomly disconnects me when I’m winning. Never when I’m loosing.
As a solo q survivor main, I think it's about time this game got a surrender feature. It wouldn't be available right away but after the game has been going on for a while. All survivors who are still alive can vote to surrender and the entity kills everyone like in the endgame collapse. I hardly play with people who dc, they'd rather die on first hook and go next. I see no point in continuing said match when it's already a 1v3 or a 1v2 three minutes into the game with 5 or 4 gens left. I get it, there are killers that I despise playing against whether that's because I'm bad against them or I think their power is stupid, or I'm just tilted period, I always play the match out.
1:27 dude needs to talk about nerfing locker next video
Make a casual mode and ranks mode
You play like shit.
I think that for the survivors who hang around hook after being unhooked should get an AFK penalty where it automatically removes them from the match instead of getting three crowd or something
I always hate the excuse people reach for of
"WELL WHAT IF THEY'RE NEW AND THINK THEY CAN UNHOOK???" They always use "Boohoo but the new players" as their whole argument as to why you can't or shouldn't punish obvious GG Go Nexters. Cause like "WHAT IFFFFF. You can't PROOOOVE it was a ragequit so there shouldn't be a punishment!" Like the obsession with defending those people is crazy.
"Well what if they genuinly have to go somewhere. What if there is an emergency?!"
Then fucking DC. If you genuinely have to go for something critical, then DCing is even faster and the penalty shouldn't affect you.
Like god the hoops people will jump through. The things they'll reach for to defend those people are crazy.
I got a way to fight it. It's probably not reliable, but it just might work.
At the end of a match, if someone has been replaced with a bot, hover your mouse over the right side of their information. A pop up will show that lets you report them.
Ragequitting is under poor sportsmanship. Just do it. It might not work, but just do it.
Maybe people should stop cheating, trolling etc.
So: I’ll tell you right now. This has been happening more in every PvP game Recently. It isn’t just DbD
Everything from DBD to LoL to R6S To smite to StarCraft 2. This has been happening more and more.
As for DbD. I am a super turtle so I get a lot of DCs. It’s how I’ve played for YEARS. I just enjoy longer games. And I do not have sympathy for these rage quitters because I see DbD as a competitive game and they are not only ruining the competitive nature of the game; they also ruin the experience for everyone else.
I get no joy out of stomps or winning against ragers
The only way to fix this is to be heavy handed with bans and suspensions. And the issue with that is people have connectivity issues and would suffer too. I think that the way it should be handled is that the unhook option should be removed without the relevant perks. Gives an option to rework slippery meat too. And I think that if you DC the lockout time should double. 10 minutes then 20 then 40 etc. until eventually you get permanently banned. These players are not welcome in competitive games whatsoever. Nothing lost. Make giving up a reportable offense too.
As for possibly giving extra rewards for sticking matches out; other games have tried this and it never really has worked as well as they hoped.
To be honest, as someone whos played the game (at the time I was 15) all the way back in 2017 on a shitty laptop, fast forwarding until now I think it's not really as black and white as people simply baby raging at something they hate going against. Instead of adding a bunch of Band-Aids like BHVR adding longer DC penalties and Bloodpoint bonuses (which would still help don't get me wrong) BHVR needs to actually tackle the core of the issue: The base game, at any level past week 1 casual, is presently a pretty awful mess of unfun mechanics and laughable balance design down to the first layer. Both sides have major problems.
BHVR since the games inception have barely touched the actual meat of how it plays, and when they have, its always ended arguably in backlash or negativity. Breakable doors are placed arbitrarily and bring no actual value to the map design in 99% of circumstances, and the movement nerf just made an already unviable strategy (360s) completely worthless outside of bad killers or controller players. I'm not even going to touch the animation or UI changes, which for the most part have been awful looking and downright laughable. The maps they design and redesign honestly aren't made for you to survive; they're designed for you to hopefully waste enough time that your teammates can even give you the opportunity to survive. Even then, some of these loops are just absolutely terrible (looking at you Hawkins) or are absolutely busted like the shack in Crotus Asylum.
Speaking on map design though, theres another part that bad designs make even worse, which is the perk and killer efficiency problem.
As time has went on and Bhvr, Killers have essentially been getting power crept and been allowed to do more and more things, making them remixes of other killers because you can only do so many things within the confine of the game. And thats actually a good thing! in a party game, players being able to do more is all around a good thing which adds freshness and unpredictability to the match. But as killers have gotten more and more tools behind their belt, solo queue has suffered as Bhvr went on a crusade against SWF after so long of it wreaking havoc. Deservedly so. But when the main thing that adds more mechanics for you to interact with, (perks) keep getting shuffled and nerfed/buffed beyond belief it cracks the core game design. Perks themselves are another major issue, but thats a different topic in another paragraph.
Perks are the only thing that actually add interesting interactivity past killer design. The thing is, with so, so many of them, theres bound to be this wonderful thing called *The meta*. That in my opinion is only a real problem because the vast majority of perks are either too niche or do exactly nothing in the face of better perks, like any means necessary vs Alert. Anybody even remotely paying attention will do better with Any means because you get the added bonus of picking up and seeing every dropped pallet as long as they are not kicked, so if the aura disappears, guess what? You have basically used Alert! And thats only one example out of a couple dozen. This is the main problem with the whole "3 perk" mantra of every new release, its just simply bloating the game beyond belief.
The other main problem in my opinion? Staleness. Taking all these other issues into account, what do you actually do in between and during some of the killers power designs? 99% of your gameplay is holding a certain button and watching a bar fill up. Repairing, Healing, Cleansing, Boons, recovering, some killer powers(which is fine honestly but it adds to the already heinous amount) events, and some other small things. combine that with hooks and you are effectively in a resource based time-out every time you aren't directly interacting with the killer. The chase is the only fun part of that, and when modern design makes even that part unfun because you have to sometimes just get outright lucky with map or loop designs, it's no wonder people are just simply getting fed up. That, and the fact that survival MAJORLY hinges on your teammates. the solo person can simply not do enough, and this game barely works in a 4v1. There's a reason most 3v1 scenarios are nigh impossible to survive without luck and that a lot of good strategies like slugging are seen as unfun. Because for the survivor side, the punishment or gameplay for not interacting with the killer is essentially a timeout. The optimal play 99% of the time in DBD is just simply not fun because theres nothing fun or unique you can do in between without grabbing some of the only interesting niche or unique perks.
TL:DR? I think the core of the issue is the game is designed badly, and can't accept that. badly designed games can be fun. But DBD isn't truly willing to allow either side busted strategies that would shake up the core of the game but make it more fun at the same time. Mainly the survivor side. A lot of older killers need to be able to do more and interact with survivors more, while survivor abilities and interaction need to be buffed like giving more stealth options or better looking movement, maybe some different types of vaultables instead of just the basic window and pallets. The killer and survivor back and forth outside of chase needs to be better, and the power of a single survivor needs to be buffed along with the abilities and things weaker killers can do so that the inbetween of chases has more interest and more reason to risk sitting in the games time out mechanics.
Some examples of what I mean:
-Trapper has added tripwires. They go from wall to wall, and while a survivor is running, when within 2 meters they can do a quick QTE to hop it. If they fail, it wraps around their leg and hinders them until injured or they rip it off. Doing either results in a loud noise notification, and either side can be hit by it. The trappers disappears after a short time.
-Survivors can hug walls to make hiding in thin areas a little bit better by pressing a certain button to do so, or a last of us style wall hug. Its a cosmetic feature but adds so much to stealth.
-some maps get more unique gimmicks. Backwater swamp can have semi-permanent footprints in the mud to make tracking easier or harder. Red Forest maps can have unique weather to impact visibility. Imagine heavy rainstorms with the piercing white eyes of a wraith chasing you in darkness interrupted by lightning. Crows on Eerie of crows could be present at all corners to give both sides paranoia at whats making them go off. Add little crevices that survivors can crawl into that might save them a chase, but breaks upon usage. it could even put them in dangerous spots but have an interesting one-time forced reset where both sides have to make judgement calls instead of just "good or bad pallets".
-side objectives. Make killers more powerful, but give single survivors more things to do that makes teamwork optimal but not necessary to get out, mainly so that it doesn't put all the weight upon one persons shoulders half the time. Something like the beginning of the match being a daisy chain from the exit gates to generators. The killer can use this as a tracking tool, and survivors can forge a path for others to follow independent of 3rd party communication. Complete generators could even supply a small bit of power to other connected ones, and generators could get a nerf in the form of completion bars. example: The gen has 5 bars, each being 20 percent. the repair bar will regress to but not beyond the most recent one, as in a 82% gen would regress to 80. And to help with this connected gens could maybe add a flat percentage. Look at that, a mechanic that buffs kicking gens and adds another way to help your teammates organically!
theres so much more I wanna say, and I know a lot of my ideas would not go over half as smoothly as I think they would, but *come on man*. I wholeheartedly believe its a burnout issue and Bhvr has done nothing to make that any easier. The game simply needs more and is being pushed to its limit by its current design philosophy. If a few people leave, thats a mentality issue on their part. But if its normalized and a whole lot of people are quitting, thats a sign something much deeper is wrong, even if people cant express it properly. Which they can't and have proven time and time again that survivors probably will never be able to.
Survivors being the most toxic and problematic DBD players. Again.
Nothing new. It's like saying the sun is hot or water is wet.
It's not been this bad, but it has been here for years. A lot of people basically just don't care unless "I win", and another group don't care if they see something as "unfair to them" when the universal rule should just be "chill and have fun". You get a lot of people really angry, or bitter over things no one should be angry or bitter over. It's kinda sad. I'm someone who just doesn't get salty at stuff. I laugh it off, because im meant to be having fun. It's more fun to just shrug off stuff and go next in generaal, but this is becoming just a mindset people don't want. It does turn very "Us vs Them". And for the people who do need to DC due to overstim ands uch, you're never who we talk about. Sorry it sounds like you catch strays in this, you're cool. Wish BHVR did sometthing for you. 😊
Dbd's degenerate playerbase is ruining the game. Take them disgusting pride flags out. Stop banning speech, this is a horror game and its filled with weak ass beta losers.
