  2. The only complaint would really be that queue times would be even more absurd for those higher tier players, also, if they want to have a non-competitive match they would have to KYF or intentionally derank. However, this would be the same with MMR, so there isn’t really any putting that against you. I just wish they added 2 game modes, casual & ranked, but that’s mostly just a passing thought that would most likely have just as many issues.

  3. i think the only way an automated system could work is if you had every seed of every map and perk/add on having a point value and having a system where A) when a chase starts how many pallets/windows are in an area B) what killer are you going against and what add ons/perks do they have C) what perks do you have on/how long do you survive in chase D) while teammates are being run you are doing objectives or taking pressure off injured/more hooked player. and i think i’m probably missing things, but this system would be so unbelievably complex that it would take months of 100 scotts/otz/tru3/tourney squads etc. because not only do you need a point value that works, you need one that the top level players of all opinions and views to choose them

  4. On the subject of sbmm long queues are always a terrible idea. Espicially when your games in higher levels is over in eight minutes. Anyone who has seen the high end ranked lol players in queue for 30+minutes for a 20 minute game is bad but dbd with a similar setup would be so much worse.

Imagine a similar if longer period for queuing in dbd which only lasts 5 to 10 minutes. A lot of live service model games have died simply to long queues because every second a player is waiting for another game your actively frustrating the player and building the expectations of the quality of the next game.

Sbmm is not bad for just content creators if your a passionate player you will be punished with less games under an sbmm system which matters a lot more when your games end so fast in comparison to others. The entire battle arena genre has been having this problem dbd was smart in prioritising giving people there games over making them wait half an hour just to play one game.

  5. Could do what League does, where Challengers have both ranking and LP to compare with other Challengers.

So like rank 1, +35 pips and stuff like that. Add a leaderboard for who has the most pips.

  7. Remove Rank reset.
It makes no sense to keep rank resetting people over and over again.
People will lose rank if they don't belong there.
All it does is screw over new players and make people who don't play for two seasons to have to play hours of bad games.
I always rather play sweaty rank 1 killers than a rank 10 you loop the entire game.
I just don't enjoy shitting on worse players. Which seems to be 90% of what the community enjoys.

  8. I think something that would work quite well for Dead by Daylight is have the old rank system as it was with the added rule that the highest rank and the lowest rank in the lobby cant be more than 4 ranks apart for matchmaking.
Then once you reach rank 1, you will flip over into a different type of matchmaking system (Legendary rank) where SBMM is used and your MMR is shown instead.
And give people a cosmetic for reaching rank 1 every season.

  9. what about ppl who want to queue with their friends who happen to be much lower rank? what would you want the matchmaker to do in that case? average the survivor ranks and look for a killer with that rank?
