This is my Fan-Made concept for The Wendigo from Until Dawn as a new killer in Dead By Daylight. It features extensive game mechanics, add-ons for its power and 3 unique perks. Also two new survivors would enter the Fog with this Chapter, Samantha Giddings and Michael Munroe, that come with 3 new perks each, as well. This is my first chapter concept with two survivors! 🥳

Get ready to be bound to a small area and pursued by a crawling madness.

  1. First of all, very nice concept. I really wanted a killer that could climb walls and maybe set up ambushes that way for quiet some time. This seems like a very interesting adaptation of that idea. (Also this is gonna be a long comment)
    As for the perks:

    KILLER:

    – Off the clifftop:
Seems like a variation of surge/jolt, while only triggering under certain conditions. It has the upside of damaging exit gates(very situational) and showing a nearby survivors aura, when losing a chase 8 secs after injuring a healthy survivor. So this perk shines on killers, where you want to keep everyone injured, while also not using the killer power for doing that. For that reason I can only think of the Oni really benefiting as well as the rest of the m1 killers with certain perks like thana. All of that is the case because if you wanna commit chasing the survivor that you just injured, surge/jolt would have been a better choice. As for the whole exit gate part, its only gonna be useful when you catch a survivor which is in the process of opening an exit gate and is healthy.
Maybe the exit gates could get blocked for 5 secs after injuring a healthy survivor and after that start regressing, so 99ing the gates would get punished.
I dont wanna sound to hard but for me this perk tries to do to many things at once while not being strong enough to rectify using it compared to existing perks. But I really like the idea of regressing exit gates.

    – Pantomimed scream:
Excellent perk! Great mindgame potential, as well as rewarding the killer for leaving util for the survivors to loop them. Cooldown prevents it from getting used over and over again on the same loop. So the survivor has to leave the loop or be really quick in adapting to the speed buff.
Would like to see this perk ingame.

    – Scourge hook: a herald of evil:
I like that it has an effect even while noone is hooked. It is as all scourge hook perks heavily impacted by rng but maybe not as bad as the ones that are ingame. So either they are spread apart which means more area is getting covered with the debuffs, or the are very close together which creates a dead zone where survivors have very little chance of seeing the killer approach. Also very theatrical with the crow bomb. Maybe it would get abused by killers that can teleport because they get a warning before someone gets unhooked, but we would have to try that to see if that would be strong or not.
(Maybe mint rag hag would be the only problem, allowing the hag to teleport to the hook before the unhook and potentially grabbing the survivor)
But all in all I like it a lot 🙂

    SURVIVOR:

    – Diligent & caring:
A very interesting concept that I quiet like. Reveal yourself to the killer in order to be more efficient with skillchecks. Also the whole not disturbing crows part would really be underwhealming for me if there wasn't your scourge hook: a heradl of evil perk. It is a classic risk reward, which I think there should be more of that in the game.
It may not be the stronges perk because it relys on the survivor getting skillchecks but it is unique and stands out. A good perk that is well balanced.

    – Butterfly effect:
Honestly a really great perk idea. If a survivor couldn't use their exhaustion perk in a chase and go down, then they get to use it twice (at least most of the time) in the next chase. Not sure though how frustrating it would feel playing killer against them. Imagine Lithing away from a killer twice. But since a survivor has to go down while not being exhaused that maybe only happening twice in the whole game, so I think thats fine. Would also not really synergize great with Sprint burst since the survivor would have to throw one chase by not sprinting for this to happen. The redused exposed part could really confuse a killer. And that might be the only downside, its really difficult for the killer to know this is active but I think it would be fine.

    – Boon: totem prophecy:
Not sure if I understand that one right. So essentially its like time is slowed by 30% while in the range. It would heavily hinder survivors outside of chase but also the killer in chase. So a killer spends more time chasing there but the chase might also be shorter because the killers lunge attack would be more effective. At least thats how I would imagine it. I think this can be really frustrating for both sides and I dont think I would bring it. But its something new as well which I respect, is just not a perk I would bring.

    —————————————-

    – Competitive Spirit:
In a way you have to play differently if you wanna use the scarse token meaningful. But its way more forgiving than Coup de grace for example. When a killer knows you can't get a fast vault from the angle the survivor is approaching the window, the killer will most likely lunge at the survivor and then not get the hit. This will feel frustrating for the killer. The survivor can even stand really close to a window and wait until the killer is close to then instantly fast vault the window(and consume a token). That is a very safe playstyle for survivors.
Not sure if it can trigger while the survivor is exhausted.
So Im not a huge fan and I think it needs to be nerfed before its a balanced perk but as for almost all perks this chapter its something we havent seen before and that is really good.

    – Scourge pallet: person of action:
Great concept, I like everything about it. Curious of how this would work if multiple survivors brought that perk, would there always be just 4 pallets or 4 pallet for every survivor that has the perk equiped? (The latter would really destroy killers on gideon meat plant and forcing them to break every pallet)
At first I thought this was way to strong but thinking more and more about it I think it needs a slight nerf if at all. Maybe the aura range could be shortened.
    Overall grape!

    – Class president:
A nice adaptation of Sprint burst. I really like it. The second part with the egc is new as well and will mess with blood warden killers. Good addition to the game

If you managed to read till this point congrats 😀

    FINALLY!
I personally think that Chris should replace one of them, as
    A. The chase is the best place for them to be taken
    B. He knows more about the wendigo than anyone else

  3. We honestly do need a Until Dawn Collab with Dead by Daylight. It would be nice having another Lodge map especially all the places you could hide in the one from Until Dawn. Or even getting a map with the underground mining system would be super fun.

  4. Would of been cool if Emily also was a survivor. i know that Sam and Mike are important characters, but still. she also has a chase scene from wendigo, perfectly fits in dbd

  5. This killer design and dedication to lore is so immersed that this is too complicated for dbd to create but I absolutely love the idea of this. I'm just imagining the same cool movement animations from Until dawn game being used and polished in an online free roam kinda game like dBd lmao. Like Battlefield in Detroit's style type shit

  6. long read
I don't think a 'blind' killer will ever be something in DBD. You didn't really explain their FoV, is it like Spirit that survivors vanish during her phase or is the Wendigo's vision severely blurred (like playing Berserker in Gears of War 3 Beast). Also the devs never imagined bringing a killer that can be on the walls/ceiling as most locations in the game can not support this possibility. "Off the Clifftop" sounds more situational than Surge/Jolt on release and would more likely be used on Wraith/Sadako for hit and run tactics. "Pantomimed Scream" depends on how quick you can cancel the action just sounds like instant bloodlust 2. "SH:AHoE" already notifies survivors of which hooks are scourge hooks and kinda forces the survivor to crouch walk approach the hook like with Hag traps and the idea that it applies Oblivious to survivors whether hooked or not sounds like campers drooling around the corner.

"Diligent and Caring" I'm assuming you mean 3% on top of the great skill check because great skill checks award 1% progression which is 0.9 charges and 3% of that is a bonus 0.027 for a total of 0.927 which is meaningless for the perk (Hyper Focus gives 30% per token for a total of 2.8% gen progress per great skill check at 6 tokens). Along side the note that killers hear rushed actions within within 50m, so a survivor performing a rushed action is basically calling the killer to them and the radius is pinned to the survivor for 30 seconds. "Butterfly Effect" typically if you're running an Exhaustion perk, when you are put into the dying state you are already Exhausted from using the Exhaustion perk, so this sounds like you will most likely only get tokens while not running an Exhaustion perk in an effort to counter the Exposed status, BUT very few things apply a 'timed' Exposed effect. For example Myers and GF just expose survivors because they have add-ons that can increase the duration of these effects so to ease coding on the game the survivors are just permanently exposed until their power runs out. Haunted Grounds, Make Your Choice and Iron Maiden are examples of 'timed' Exposed applicators. I make this observation because things like Myers Evil Within 3 is not affected by the survivor perk Vigil which is similar to this perk which in fact Vigil would just work better than this perk as it has no stipulations to gain its effects. "Boon: Totem Prophecy" I'm not sure how you intended this one to work. If this is to slow everyone including the killers movement speed the you have survivors at 2.8m/s and killers at 3.08m/s (4.4m/s killers) or 3.22 (4.6m/s killers) and if the action speed is to also affect a killers lunge (by reducing its duration) then it's literally EW1 Myers chasing survivors. Not to mention slowing the vaulting speed on windows and pallets will essentially make them all slightly slower than medium vaults.

"Competitive Spirit" would allow survivors who make bad pathing decisions have 'freebies' on window vaults as a survivor would no longer have to arch their pathway away from a wall so they can curve into a window vault to get a fast vault. I played way back when vaults were either slow or fast and allowing a survivor to get a fast vault no matter what angle they approached is very rewarding for bad pathing, even if they only get a max of 7 per trial. "SP:PoA" outside of the fact that killers will 90% of the time break the pallet immediately without the survivor being able to do anything to stop it, this perk tries to combine an automatic version of Any Means Necessary with Alert. Furthermore survivors will probably demand more than 4 or 4 per survivor. "Class President" so a better Sprint Burst when not near the killer. Sounds more like a crutch for bad decision making like a survivor being thrown on a hook and while the killer is chasing another survivor, the third and fourth are getting greedy to finish a gen before saving the hooked survivor and by the time they finish and approach the hooked survivor, they reach stage 2 or die. Also, if they perform a hook rescue, how long of a buffer would they have for the bonus 15 seconds to be added to its duration if there isn't another hooked survivor during the end game. On top of that, if they take a protection hit during the end game then they're in the killers Terror Radius (unless hit by a cross map hatchet) and can not gain the effects of the perk and even if they do gain the bonus 15 second effect, a 20 second Sprint Burst sounds absolutely busted as you will definitely create enough distance to reach a safe gate to open or heal if you have a good med kit

  9. I wonder if you can mod a killer into dbd, since we have seen modded stuff evolve (we got 2 modded maps and one whole modded gamemode In which I really don’t know if it’s just a separate game and they just recreated everything precisely) and now we have bots to support modding in custom matches (otherwise you would need friends to test and etc)

  10. I would love an Until Dawn chapter on DBD, but that would be impossible as Supermassive Games no longer owns Until Dawn, the game is owned by Sony now
