I played this killer game using ONLY Eruption to test its strength, and its quite surprising to see how capable this perk can be. Despite being a strong perk by itself, Eruption needs a nerf.

  1. Agreed, it’s too overpowered. I also think Call of Brine needs to have the notification when a survivor does a skill check on it removed. If paired with Overcharge they get notified instantly. A survivor shouldn’t be punished for successfully hitting a surprise tough skill check. Also it’s too easy to be oppressive with 3 gens because of this.

  2. I feel like the current killer meta aka gen slowdown perks are so boring. My games are 4 times as long as normally. People won't chase, just worry about kicking their gens and every second you aren't on gens is pushing you deeper into the gen slowdown issue, yet you can't even do gens all the time, because you keep getting locked off of them. I do hope that others are having fun on the game, but the current meta just isn't fun.

    I still escape the same amount as I did before, so it's not even a skill issue. It's just dull. The matches are cookie-cutter ones and new surprising things don't seem to be happening as much as they used to. I think people are allowed to use what they want, metaperks, non-metaperks, anything they want. And eruption is a part of that. I do wish I'd see it just a liiiiitle less though.

    I love this game, I've played for 2 years soon, and now I am actually considering leaving it behind, at least until eruption is fixed or the meta changes. Games thrive on variety, and it's like eruption threw variety out the window.

  3. I agree, although I think that the regression is fine, since you have to set the perk up and actually get downs to make it work, whereas the incapacitation is clearly not. I also think that call of brine and overcharge are really badly designed, since they give you free regression without you having to do anything basically, unlike perks like pop, jolt and pain resonance that actually require you to progress the game in order to do something. If eruption didn't have the incapacitation, with maybe a bit more regression, it would fall under the same category as those perks and it would be fine in my opinion.

  4. My issue with killers running Call of Brine, Eruption, and Overcharge is half the time they never chase survivors and if they do they just slug them. Therefore the game never actually progresses.

    With perks like Pop Goes the Weasel and Pain Resonance you only benefit from them if you hook survivors so you are forced to progress the game.

  5. I think it should get a buff tbh. My proposal is; Once a gen explodes with eruption that gen is permanently destroyed and will not respawn. The killer is rewarded for downs and pressure as if they kick 4 Gens and get a down then the game is instantly over and the killer wins.

  6. i am a killer main when i first saw eruption i couldn't believe it caused incapacitated for that long. i think 4,8 and 12 seconds is much more reasonable. i watched otz perks list video (17 hours long) twice to come up with a good perk combo and about a month after that everyone is now using eruption. i agree its unfair but so is having to wait for a dead hard that doesn't even exist lol. some perks are too strong.

  7. I don't agree, the game state right now is completely Gen rush and second chance perks, probably bigger than that's ever been! Eruption is one of the few decent options killers have to prevent that! What is ruining dbd, and what always have been ruining it, is the fact that Behaviour can't balance their own game properly!

  8. I hope it will get nerfed. I've removed eruption from all of my killer builds. I just think it's not healthy for the game overall. Even if the perk is useless vs SWF. It's so bad for soloq players.

  9. Eruption AND Circle of healing are ruining the game for both sides. An infinite medkit for the entire team? A perk that hurts solo queue and can be mitigated by SWF? Both of these are problematic. Problem is BHVR will likely never touch CoH while eruption gets gutted into a useless garbage F tier perk just like tinkerer. Smh.

    "But tinkerer+ ruin was op!" So either make tinkerer require you to kick the gen for it to reproc OR nerf ruin…which they did…they completely destroyed ruin and now is the first hex that automatically cleanses and gets rid of itself. Because reasons. (I think that part of the nerf was too much imo the nerf to 100% down from 200% was enough)

  10. Yesterday I've played against a nurse wich stalled a game she could have finished 20 minutes earlier: keep using call and erup just for the sake of it and not committing to a chase she would have won, btw we where left 2 in the game πŸ™‚
