  1. I just know that something has to give. I’ve been in 4 matches in the last few days that have been long as hell. Had one that ran over 40 minutes with a doctor that spent the entirety of the match slugging and kicking gens with eruption, OC and CoB and it was absolutely miserable. Damn near makes me scared to play the game on the off chance that the match turns out to be a 40+ minute commitment that I’m punished for DCing from.

  2. I see a lot of killer players playing 4 slowdown perks. That is TOO MANY.
Most killers need 2, some need 1, and some need none.
The rule of thumb I use is 2 Slowdown, 1 Info, 1 chase perk. That keeps gens from being done, tells you where to go AND helps get those downs.

  3. I also hate the fact that they nerfed (directly or indirectly, i dont know) repressed alliance by ruining many of its synergies, since repressed will just apply to gens along with blast mine and such. Plus, many regression perks go through repressed's effect, which isn't supposed to happen. It's like the only proper anti-kick perk and they've refused to fix its bugs.

  4. 4:30 My survivors typically enjoy 4 minute matches. Disclaimer: I do not own any P2W perks in the gen regression department. The game IS unbalanced for people who do not have access to all perks. In this case, survivor is instead infinitely easier to play. I can play perkless survivor and still perform sufficiently to escape, given that I have many thousands of hours of knowledge on how to run all tiles. However not having Eruption, deadlock, Brine, etc… as killer… very hard to win "majority of matches", even though that is how the MM is supposed to work. You gota put things in perspective and not assume everyone has payed for all content. If you don't believe me, go play with "free perks" for a few weeks and notice the difference.

  5. Thank you Scott. I have to agree with your feelings here. In my opinion, games should aim to be around 15min average. I also think we should bring back killers not being able to close the hatch. Killer's feeling entitled to a 4k is also what is dragging these games out well past their time, upwards of 10 additional minuets easily.

  6. CoB + Eruption is strong, got it.

Killers need strong shit like this, though. There's nothing wrong with Eruption, nothing needs to be nerfed, the only problem is it's a more boring meta. Just find a way to give killer something just as oppressive but is less boring than kicking gens and waiting out incapacitation.

  7. One thing I have to say about your argument of "You should lose pretty frequently" is that I don't mind losing if I feel like I could've done better. Losing when you gave your best shot is pretty frustrating, and it doesn't help with how random DBD is.

  8. Eruption and Off The Record two worst perks in dbd history 😀 Plus MMR sweat-system and we are all done, eternal suffering, there is not hope here, no hope at all.

  9. I'd like a experiment with the perk dying light to be honest, I feel like it's a underrated perk that gets a lot of shit because it can buff the obsession and because it encourages you not to instantly kill them as soon as possible.

  10. Honestly it’s so hard to side with it being OP and unhealthy vs it being fair since survivors have prove thyself and swf.
I can totally see where both sides are coming from, but if we’re going to nerf the gen kicking meta, we need to nerf some of these gen rush perks since a full squad can easily run them which little counter play.

I think the entire meta has to be changed in order
As a killer main a lot of the time in high MMR, I’d like to run more fun builds but I just get punished if I don’t run boring builds like eruption, call of brine, pop, and overcharge. It’s just more consistent to keep pressure even with the annoying healing meta that keeps getting buffed.
On top of that I get many toxic survivors messaging me about how I only got a 2k or how I was bad. When they all ran prove thyself, hyper focus, toolboxes, swf, etc.
The meta kind of forces a lot of killers to play this way, and it’s not really that fun even coming from the killer side.

  11. I've started running no slow-down perks and only chase perks. I either win or lose in five minutes, but my games are much more fun. I did well with the gen kicking build (Call of Brine, Eruption, Overcharge), but it became a situation where I would run to a gen, hit someone, kick the gen, then run to the next gen. The survivor would then run across the map to their Boon Totem, heal up, then run back and repeat the exact same process. Both sides were immensely boring and my games would last forever. Even when I won (which was often), it wasn't a fun experience. So now I just use downs as pressure. Sure, I will lose more games, but I can't stand the game becoming some sort of "Groundhog Day" repeat-a-thon that bores me into a coma.

  12. From a survivor main perspective who plays a lot of solo-q eruption is even stronger Bc there is no way to know when a survivors going down, so instead u just rank the 25 sec of doing nothing. Losing so much time. It’s a very frustrating perk to deal with so I hope to see a nerf

  13. I think the main problem with the gen kick meta is there the first slowdowns weve had that wasnt earned in some way. There always available at any point. Eruption is the exception to this as you have to get a down for the effect to happen but that exception is overshadowed by how overwhelmingly powerfull its effect is. Call of brine and overcharge need some sort of condition to them like pop. And eruption needs some heavy nerfs. Also im aware ruin isnt earned but its a hex that can be removed so it doesnt count imo.

  14. Yeah it's strong but I'm sorry yall I prefer this over ruin Undying meta omfg watching all my progress dissappear with a Blight that just bounces around with no downside at least eruption I can still watch gen progress and they actually have to get a down for it to proc. Favourite pain res dms without a doubt. Nerf eruption for solo queue and it's sorted.

  15. Dbd community has some of the worst losers in my 20 years of gaming. It’s not that they don’t understand they’re meant to lose every 10ish games they just don’t want to.

  16. Legit, I’m newish and don’t even have those perks but even without those I love my jolt and jolt/pain res builds (and sometimes I’ll slap just pain res or maybe once in a blue moon deadlock with one or both of those) and put on infectious fright and/or barbecue and chili. If I had lethal I’d absolutely use it too, and when I’m feeling up for Wraith, spirit fury/enduring/brutal with my one slowdown being jolt is such a fun build. I’d rarely if ever be able to see myself running those both, maybe Call of Brine once in a blue moon but I already enjoy jolt and/or pain res already.

  17. I think some survivors are getting annoyed at eruption and call of brine; and they give up on hook, because why wait five minutes to get a gen, then die? Also on the killer side, you can often feel right then in the moment when eruption saves you a gen, and you only have to proxy a gen with call of brine on it for maybe sixty seconds or less, so you can go apply pressure somewhere else safely. Just my superficial thoughts on the topic.

  18. I’ve been running mostly Scourge: Pain, Jolt, Surveillance, and No Way Out recently and been enjoying it a lot. Some of the build is definitely RNG based but overall it’s been fun getting that slowdown + info by chasing and just playing well. Then NWO as a bit of padding/comfort perk. It’s funner and I feel more interactive than slapping on 3 – 4 gen kicking perks

  19. scotttttt dont tell them to run 3 slows and a info perkkkkkkkkk, now all I am going to face is 3 slow's and Thrilling Tremors or somethin. Gonna lead to more boring games with their build being more effective due to info.

  20. Want to throw this thought out there. I think people complain about the balance so much because a lot of games feel like no one won. If the killer kills one person, they lost but the survivors don't feel like they won completely either. Both sides are not satisfied with those games. A lot of killers only feel like they won if they 4k or 3k w/ hatch. That leads to people feeling like they lost a lot more often than they should.

  21. Another issue is the fact that survivors can get all the gens done in 3 mins. Meaning if you go against a team like that, you lose. Because you have to constantly push them off the gens instead of committing to chases for downs. You commit to a chase, you lose. You don't commit to a chase, you don't get downs.

Do you agree with that as well?
