  1. i really like Gabriel design story and perks as a whole, it kinda remembers me of Isaac Clarke from dead space one of my favorite games of all time

  2. Perhaps what they can do for Hux’s problem of:”why he wants to be organic” it because the machine body can break and expire, but a organic body can evolve and adapt

  3. i adore Gabe's story a lot, but I think one of the things that could've saved it is if it takes weeks, or maybe even months for all of the human crew to die. it would make more sense why they continued on like normal; they're on a hostile planet, one where they've found evidence of ancient tech that could interfere with their own, and which is clearly shown to have animal life (including a giant bird of prey, or dragon, as I like to imagine it is) and before even – as they remember it – setting off for the mission, they would have been briefed of the risks to their life. having the story take place in a span of months instead of 48 hours makes more sense not only in terms of the character decisions, but also in terms of just plain story telling. right now, the lore is just. wham bam thank u Huxley Industries.

i think also what could have saved it, and what would have added to the horror of it, is if Gabe DID check the logs and everything, and he knew that something was wrong with Hux, but he couldnt find any verifiable proof and because of that, the other members of the crew didn't believe him. imagine the horror of it, of being the only person to know, for WEEKS, what is killing ur friends, and they don't believe u? watching as it interacts with them. it helps them. it is ALONE with them. and u know what it has done, what it will KEEP doing, and u can do nothing, because nobody will listen to u? u are alone and u are the only one who knows, and nobody believes u. they chalk it up to u grieving, trying to make sense of senseless accidents. they chalk it up to the lonely vacuum of space getting to ur head. but u know. u know and u watch as they die because they didn't listen to u, and u are powerless to stop this thing.

  4. Bruh, Pixel Bush should be hired by Behavior to be a lore supervisor. I always get impressed of how good and deep are his analysis from the caracthers' history.

Keep up the the great content! i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one that love your videos.

  5. "Maybe BHVR hasn't fully considered the ramifications of the storytelling decisions they'd make"

Boy you could apply that to many characters and tome with this game's lore 😗

  6. I always forget how often the "Sci" part of "SciFi" gets totally forgotten in favor of the "Fi" and how much it ends up making the story suffer for it. It's not a call for concrete realism with page after page of calculus to explain how lightspeed travel works, just, like, DON'T FORGET HOW AIR DUCTS WORK when it could have been so easily poison gas with a cover story of human error (maybe some coolant or whatever is highly neurotoxic and gets vented into the system with alarms disabled by the killer) or a microbe on the planet's surface that's introduced and caused illness (something rarely thought of in these stories), you know, or hundreds of other options.

Granted, we live in a world where real life billionaires are funding giant people-sized pneumatic tube trains that physically can't work because they're gullible and whatever education they could afford failed them, so…

  7. You're definitely just overthinking the Sarah thing. It's weird that it just so happens that someone Is saved twice ended up being a woman. What about that is wrong? You just made a good point about how dbd already had a good handful of women who didn't need to be saved or anything, so why is this part an issue? Should it be a rule that no woman in any story can be saved by a man at any point? Its just an odd point to make. I like your videos tho so dont think im a hater or anything lol

  8. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the biggest issue with DBD lore is seemingly a lack of multiple drafts. Granted, some stories are written better than others, but recent stories suffer from writing mistakes and numerous grammatical/logic errors.

  9. On the issue of the breathable air, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a ship that travels space need to have a system that could create a breathable atmosphere and be airtight. It wouldn't matter if the planet had air, if Hux shut off the oxygen supply to the ship, no air from the outside could get in, and as the system that was creating the ship's breathable air was down, they would suffocate (in fact the reason Gabriel lives is because the planet has breathable air, he opens on of the ship doors and lets the air in). Maybe I'm reading too much into thing, but that's how I took it when I read the lore.

  10. I feel like Hux corp creates their clones with the knowledge that they won't want to become something else. Gabriel is implanted with the memories of a Gabriel who wanted to become an engineer, and therefore, will only want to become an engineer, if he's been created from a real person, they know everything about the original Gabriel, his wants, his desires – everything. There's no room for error when you know everything about them, there's free will, but they know what he'll do with it.

  11. Dude, Laurie fought back against her killer before you were even born.

I think the crew carried on as usual, because they're engineered and brainwashed to do so. I'm hoping for a later reveal that Hux needs to be more organic in order to clone itself, or that the aliens who used to inhabit Dvarka created and AI that decided to repurpose most organic tissue and transferred some of that desire to Hux.

  13. My eyebrow went up when you said they suffocated…on the planet with breathable air…ok. As for SOMA dropping the ball on finding out what happened after the truck crashed. This all did happen within 24 hours so it could have been a moment of grief so it was put on hold for the moment. It happens…but after the whole suffocation thing he had absolutely no excuse

  14. Hey, if they ever do a star wars crossover, they know who to give the clone armor to! (Preferrably Phase II, that is the GOAT).

Jokes aside, no two people are the same. So saying that the only female character was written "wrong" is incorrect (I am paraphrasing your point, because you've made it in several videos, and it keeps being grating every time). Sure, she could have done more in the story, but not every woman needs to be the "strong independant woman" or pivotal to the story. Sometimes people just pop in and out of our lives, just like they would for the character. Each person also reacts differently to horrible situations. I'm surprised they've never had anyone directly panic in the lore, or anything. Minor Rant over, I'm just sick of that particular character trope atm, there's too many of them in modern media, and they're often really badly written characters/pressing an ideology when I just want to relax and play a game.

On the other hand, I do generally agree with your story analysis besides that. Except Ash is also an "action hero". There were a lot of revisions needed, but that's the case with all of DBD's stories. I as a writer can see that.
