  1. I feel like if we wanted to go down the route of making trapper very good, let him put traps on all sort of things. place a trap on a vault, not in front if it, on it. hide one in a chest so if survivors try and open it, the trap snaps on there arm. He's supposed to be "The Trapper", let us trap things around the environment, nut just environment itself. How about we can put traps on downed pallets instead of just destroying them. I think it would be interesting. Maybe we could hide one in a locker or two. Another idea, why not give us different types of traps using add-ons. Hell, remix like half of his add-ons to different shit.

    example.
survivors who get caught on your traps are no longer immobilized and are instead hindered for 30 seconds. When the hindered runs out, the trap will be dropped at location where the survivor was at when hindered ran out.

Keep the ability to just lay them on the floor, but give us more things to do with them besides just that.

  2. Not changing Trapper doesn't make him "not simple" it's a dumb excuse. You could be drunk out of your mind slurring your words and still understand "i have limited amount of trap. put trap in special spot. if special spot is not good go pick up trap and put in different special spot." These changes are fantastic and welcome additions. Not changing him is a crime because ultimately Huntress, Wraith, and Hillbilly are all way better (debatably) and you get them all for free just like Trapper. It's just a refusal to perform a quality of life upgrade.

  3. the fact that BHVR unironically gives "trapper shits on players with 2 minutes on the game who are blowing bubbles with their spit" as an argument genuinely baffles me given they managed to cobble together some halfway decent changes for the PTB

  4. you make some good points. Idk how much I agree or disagree yet. What do you think of trapper could paint his traps to better blend into the environment to alleviate some of the more painful maps such as erie of crows?

  5. Thank you for making this vid, trapper desperately needs this buff. I think some people just don't understand how absolutely bad trapper's power design is. Its like if they made blight spawn in with only two charges of his power and the rest were randomly placed around the map so you had to collect them to get the full effect. Trapper is honestly one of my favorite killers just cause i like the simple idea but i never play him cause yeah. Have a good one Kaiser ill see you in Bran's streams sometime this week hopefully. Keep being rad.

  6. The dev's excuse that trapper is "simple" is absolute bullshit. He is anything but simple. He's uniquely terrible in that he has to manually collect his power via marathon sprint. Legit, the only way I'd say they should "buff" him with is collecting traps from lockers in ADDITION to being able to pick up around the map. Just have the oldest un-set trap pop into hand when there is a slot available (and oldest in general if all are set).

I can tell you my experience with trapper back when I first played the game eons ago was "this power is terrible, and I don't know this game good enough to do anything with this" and immediately binned him.
Know who ARE good beginner killers? Wraith and Huntress. Heck, of the five starters, Nurse and Trapper are the only ones I'd genuinely say are too hard to play. Wraith? Simple, you can turn invisible and you have to turn visible to bonk people. Huntress? You've got five shots and when you're out of ammo the game will highlight ammo in lockers near by so without even telling you you'll know what to do when you're out of ammo. Billy? You've got a wind up but you go flying forward and instantly kill people, another simple power.

Trapper is the literal only limited ammo killer that can't reload on the go in any real way. Slinger can reload on whim, trickster uses lockers to reload, clown can also reload on whim, Hag and Freddy both have their oldest traps just simply fade away for the new ones. If trapper reloaded from lockers and had the oldest fade, it would make it in line BOTH with ALL OTHER Trapping and Limited Ammo killers, acting as a soft tutorial for said other killers. It sucks majorly that they're so damn adamant about not doing anything about his shitty reloading system. I WANT to like trapper, but he's just not likable. He's not usable by new players because *they won't understand how to properly use him because they won't know where you should be placing traps so they will ultimately be placed haphazardly around to no effect*. He's not comfortable to use because you'll find yourself short on being able to do anything but m1 because it turns out rng spawned all your traps in the drop chute room of The Game and you were spawned in the bathroom.

The literal only thing Trapper has going for him is that if you understand how the game works enough, you can just shutdown loops harder than pretty much anyone else. In 1v1s. Cuz if there are more people at that loop, they'll disarm the trap and then whoops the loop is open again.

Anywho, I'm not saying my solution is the bestest one of all, but I'm fixated on it a bit due to the fact it's just a pre-existing mechanic that's in-line with the rest of the game.

  7. While I agree that letting him have all his traps at the start won't make more 3-gen Trappers or Basement Trappers (those will always exist), I think that the spawns of these traps should change to be near generators, totems, and maybe loops closer to the center of the map. Each of the beginning killers in DBD have something to teach new players. Wraith teaches you how to hunt and sneak up on survivors, Hillbilly teaches you when to use your power and when not to, Huntress teaches you how to aim, and Nurse teaches you the best and most efficient way to make people DC (in all seriousness, I believe she teaches you how to use a movement-based power, loosely akin to the Blight, Spirit, Oni, Mastermind, etc., though Hillbilly would be better suited in most of these categories). Trapper, meanwhile, teaches you to roam around the map, where the best places to go are, and while the in-game cues can do a good job in teaching that sometimes (highlighted generators being a particular example), learning to protect totems and where to trap loops can be where the trap spawns could shine. Other than that, make the traps bigger, because if Trapper gets caught running through a trap in a loop, so should the survivor, allow you to place down traps faster in chase, and maybe have the traps camouflage into the environment after a while (faster in chase).

  8. As a new player (Like 35h or something), Trapper was my first killer. Not because he's the default but because I entered the game wanting to play the worst killer.
I used to 3 gen, because I think I heard somewhere that you gotta do. Over time I ended up figuring out that it just wasn't really working. I ended up switching to a more aggressive Trapper playstyle. Picking up traps as I passed them and trapping good loops and stuff. It worked better, but Im not even convinced it was because of the change in trap usage. It seemed more like it was simply because I was actually going out to bully people. Playing Trapper really does feel like playing a no power m1 killer with a small little bonus. And I really do wish I could try capitalizing on his traps more. Its not as satisfying getting good at the worst character when you dont really get to make good usage of their quirks, yknow.

  9. best thing that’s might slightly buff would be make pick up speed 80%-100% and making the stepping in trap animation faster or nonexistent. def doesn’t solve many people’s but damn this kinda shit makes him feel so old

  10. It's honestly hilarious how you're known as "the Angry DbD Guy" when honestly, you're just saying what needs to be said. Like for real, you're the literally the most relatable DbD content creator I've ever seen, you just bring up everything that SHOULD be talked about and talk about it in a fair and honest way. With a lot of passion. It's just a lot of passion. Loud passion, but passion.

  11. As a Trapper main, love the video. The issue I want to address is the devs saying 'new player first killer'… he isn't.. because new players watch YT tier lists and EVERY tier list puts him at the BOTTOM.

No new player is going to play him having a choice that includes Huntress and Nurse. They would rather struggle learning to blink and toss hatchets first than play what everyone calls the worst killer in the game.

  12. We have a guy in Russian community who don't believe in tiers and meta, and thinks that "in good hands trapper is as strong as nurse"
And his argument against trapper starting with all his traps is that "he is not Hag or HUX or Skully. He has different playstyle and by giving him all traps at the start you will ruin this playstyle". By his words you NEED to alternate trap collecting and chase, you NEED to place traps when noone can see it, and you NEED to chase survivors into traped area. BTW, you have purple addon for all traps at the start. Why do you want it to be basekit? What else? Make ALL his addons basekit maybe? You want too much, noob.

Ah abd also he says that "it's you, who makes trapper stronger by playing him well. BHWR simply adding some funny tweaks"

  13. A part of me wants to make a video expressing my thoughts on this argument and the way you presented it; however, I feel that if I were to make a video on this topic it would not end well.
To put my thoughts into words, “I respectfully disagree with your argument. From my perspective, You have the right idea, but the wrong solution.” That’s what I get from this video’s argument.
I mean no hard feelings, I’m just speaking my mind as respectful to you as I can. Even though I’m on the other side of the argument.

  14. Honestly if they ever buff trapper I want the DC penalty to be removed. I genuinely don’t find him fun to play against in any way shape or form and would probably die on hook every game.

  15. You know what would be funny, a addon that when a trap is disabled, a random disabled is reset. That at least would make people be more careful as that might trap a player in chase if they reset a trap on a loop.

  16. the problem with buffing trapper is that playing against him is sooooo annoying, if he hooks you in basement than he is uncouterable amd looking at the ground the whole game is just annoying. i I just think that they need to make a few add-ons of trapper base-kit like trappers sack and the setting speed add-ons but not the purple sack because that will make another super annoying zoning/ camping killer.

  17. Here are my ideas:

    1: Basekit Trapper Sack
2: 5% Haste Effect after picking up or setting a Bear Trap
3: Basekit Tar Bottle and Bear Oil to hide your Bear Traps from both Solo-Que and SWFs
4: Survivors suffer the 5% Hindered Effect after they escape a Bear Trap, and to remove the RNG aspect of his power, make the attempts to escape limited to one with a longer struggle time
5: When Survivors step into a Bear Trap
    Healthy=Injured
    Injured=Deep Wound
6: That one change you have, setting x amount of Bear Traps removes your first Bear Trap when reaching that ammount
7: Killer Instinct whenever Bear Traps are being disarmed

All of this will change him overall, giving him less time to kill when setting up, give him info when the Survivors are fiddling with your power and slow down as punishment for Survivors not paying attention

Honestly, I spent some time thinking of this and hopefully it's a good idea of a rework idea for Trapper

  18. This is want i would do if i were to fix trapper

    1. Start with all traps
    2. If a survivor gets trapped the trapper gains a 7.5% haste speed boost and a 10% increase breaking and vaulting speed boost.until the survivor breaks free. (Stackable)
    3. New second ability that allows you to select a trap to either teleport back to your inventory or to reset has a cooldown of 45 seconds that decrease each time you hit a survivor or hook a survivor.
    4. Injured survivors in traps will go into the dying state if they free themselves.
    5. (Optional) survivors can now sabo a trap destroying it. There is a 20 second cooldown before the trap will reappear in the trappers inventory. This change will effect some addons as well trapper bag will make it so the traps that trap survivors are immediately saboed after they break free or are removed from the trap. Ouly coil will show the aura of any survivors saboing traps while also making it 20% longer. Bloody coil will now work after a sabo instead of a disarming.

  19. I agree that trapper should get these changes, however this only addresses the quality of life on the killers side. What I imagine trapper to feel like playing against with just these changes would be like playing against the Hag but the survivors are permanently exposed. It really feels like people forget that beartraps one shot you, even though endurance. And just because basement trapping doesn't always result in a 4k doesn't mean that it's okay to be left along. Like it or not, if trapper didn't have to collect traps, basement trapping becomes hell of a lot easier. You said it yourself, there is nothing much you can do if you are basement trapped. This is why I think that along with these changes, trapper should lose the ability to one shot survivors. I have thought about this for a long time and I think my ideas are pretty damn good. I won't go into more detail unless prompted to for times sake, but I hope to catch your attention and really talk about this with you on some platform. I want to see if I can change your mind because I really think I can do it. I think it would make a neat video idea too 😉

  20. I feel like the changes to trapper are so obvious too. All they have to do is give him all his traps and make bloody coil base kit. Imo there's literally no downside to disarming traps, at least with bloody coil there's a downside to that. Wanna go around and disarm them? Fine, but you loose a health state. Honestly I feel like a big downside to trapper are the map's too, the lack of grass is a huge flaw imo. Especially on a map like the eyrie of crows.
