  1. The "rep" system was from Team Fortress 2 hat/item trading, which had no systems like an auction house involved, it was completely person-to-person. It was to show how trustworthy someone was. Basically if you traded with someone and the trade was amicable and both parties got what they wanted, you were supposed to leave a "+rep" in their steam profile to show other traders that you were trustworthy and that other people had good interactions dealing with you.

It was NOT meant to complain because someone tunneled you.

  2. I don't know, Having a wraith stand over me while I'm slugged spamming his bell just to annoy the crap outta me is pretty dodgy.

It's the intent that matters. If they're teabagging just to take the pressure off their team, sure. It's annoying, but not toxic. If they're doing it just to be an ass and get on your nerves, Then it is. If they're slugging to win, it's not toxic (but it is a little sweaty.) if they're slugging to piss off the survivors, then it is toxic.

  3. the only things that upsets me is when everyone and their mom sweats and tunnels out game after game. it's pretty boring for me. dont care that they are playing that way, it's the number of games thats bening played that way and not the people themselves. The only thing the PEOPLE in DBD do that piss me off is when they come in and have a nasty attitude with me because I wanna move next, or I say that I find their playstyle boring, my opinion of an unbalanced RNG reliant game with perks is not a comp game, and wish the community as a whole would play a bit less sweaty. Like Bran said, it's not the playstyle OR people calling your playstyle something that's toxic, it's the nasty ATTITUDES the community tends to bring to people after it.

  4. +rep, has a cat
Anyways, yeah similar to not judging people by their killer people really should t be judging based on play styles. I got called an average trash can nemesis the other day despite it only being my 6th ever match on nemesis, because I slugged a couple people to keep up pressure.

  5. Huh, I’m not sure I expected to agree but I do. Very well said. I’m the +rep gamer. If I had fun in a match and you were partially responsible – strong/silly/courteous, etc. – I’m gonna let you know about it! I’d never leave a -rep tho. I’m still scarred from my first ever game-related comment calling me “a real weirdo” for apparently tunneling someone 😢

  6. This is a really important lesson. Every killer/team has different goals for the match. Assess your opponents playstyle and react accordingly to your own preference. Your reaction is the only thing you can control.
