Which Killers Would Spare the Survivors? (Dead by Daylight)

Read more Dead by Daylight ➜ https://deadbydaylight.mgn.gg

Today we’re looking at the bad side of Dead by Daylight’s characters and considering what good remains in them. Whilst many of them are terrible and irredeemable, are there any with some spark of humanity left remaining? Some good within, that might allow them to spare the other side, the Survivors within one of the many trials in the Entity’s realm.

At the time of this video’s release Chapter 31 has been released, with new killer The Unknown and survivor, Sable Ward! We also recently got the 7.0.0 PTB which finally brought along a rework to The Twins.

  1. Another reason Unknown is not very likely to spare survivors is because he somewhat states that he needs to feed on them to survive. And as you can see in his mori, he quite literally consumes them. So it could be a survival thing, much like Pennywise.

  2. I think nemesis will more likely to spare especially when he is primarily programmed to hunt star members. He'll kill when he considered them getting out of his way but in the movies and debatable in games he been shown ignoring humans because he prioritze star memebers.

  3. Fun Fact, in The original Benedict Baker text for the Pig he hid in a locker and saw her and she was going to his locker until she heard a noise and walked away giving the locker one last look as if she knew he as in there but was giving him a second chance.

  4. To be completely honest when it comes to me, deciding to let some survivors go it all depends on a few things one if they were legitimately a good player and just played better than me I would most likely let them go if they’re able to get out before I get them When it comes to people who spam flashlights with the champion of light and that flashlight happens to be a utility oh boy no you’re dead. You’re dead dead. I did this one on Doctors map these two Claudette’s just kept spamming, the damn utility flashlights I focused them both and killed them in the basement. I let the other two survivors win and just leave. I’m sorry if your place is just to rely on a flashlight without even taking into consideration, the killer might be sensitive. Go fuck yourself.

  5. Doctor and Blight might 'spare' survivors to experiment on them. They are both "scientists" after all, if with heavy quotes~ especially for the Doctor. So, perhaps wanting to learn how the entity's realm works, or why some survivors seem to recognize them from prior trials, and others don't, or whatever, they might occasionally spare one, or two, or a whole group- Just to see the effects it has on the entity's realm. So I'd put them at 'small chance'. Any sparing they do is fully motivated by their research, rather than any sort of empathy, but they still might nonetheless.

  6. I feel like Ghostface would spare a survivor now and then solely because he gets a kick out of a power dynamic. Like, "I could've killed you, and you know it."
He seems like the kind of guy who likes scaring the survivors more than killing them.

  7. I would give Nemesis a "small chance" to spare survivors instead of "unlikely." Nemesis wants to kill STARS members and really that's his only directive. He'll kill anything between him and his target, but he wouldn't go out of his way to target someone who isn't a priority. Afaik the Entity just drags him into the fog instead of altering his mind/perception, right?

  8. I believe, every single and I mean every single creation, human, animal, monsters, aliens, plants have humanity or whatever we call it. Some show them actively, some show them sparringly, some barely, and some not at all, choosing to bury it deep within their soul, only having a little everytime. They would absolutely not take any chances cause of the things the opposition did to them, in the end, they will and always have that part engraved in their soul.

  9. I'm inclined to believe Charlotte would almost never spare a survivor. The entity dangles Victor in front of her like a carrot on a stick and she would likely never defy it for fear that it would take her beloved VIctor away. I do believe she WOULD spare the survivors if she was certain Victor would still be safe, but she likely isn't willing to take that risk.

  11. Pinhead isn't under the Entity's control, instead answering to Leviathan if he answers to anyone. His decisions about killing or sparing would be based on that, not the Entity's desires.

Survivors that like or enjoy the Entity's Realm, such as David, Bill and Sable, would be hunted mercilessly. They want the suffering, after all. But Survivors who just want to escape and never wanted to be here, like Dwight, Claudette and the RE characters, he would be inclined to let go.

He sums it up in the second movie: "It is not hands that call us, it is DESIRE."
