2V8 can hurt DBD long term if BHVR doesn’t come up for a solution for the problem.

  1. I would really hate it if I end up facing more killers with under 200hrs. Everytime its happened the killer never has a good time. If they end up expanding the mmr again for queues I feel like itll just cause a lot of newer players to quit.

  2. I think the best solution to this problem is to make it so 2v8, the haha funny mode, has no SBMM, if that is not already the case. If it is the case, then my suggestion would be, for killer, specific killer incentives, so that way hopefully all killers are picked about as much meaning that huntresses and nurses aren’t sat waiting for 30 mins. Then I would implement bot players in the survivor side, but only 1-2, so it’s still a majority of human players. I think that would help queue times for 2v8

  3. I’m curious if Vanilla Mode is missing Killers or Survivors, or if there’s too few players overall that SBMM is waiting to find better matchups. If the Vanilla queues are lopsided, they should show the BP Incentive so we know what’s happening.

  4. one thing i can think of is instead of the stomping mechanic, they bring back the remote hooks from the anniversary event. the remote hooks still gave the survivor team a chance to flashlight or pallet save, which gives the survivors more interaction with the killers. they could then allow survivors to bring flashlights into the game, as half the fun for experienced survivors is going for beamer saves, but maybe just flashlights as healing and gen speeds are already too fast as it is imo. it's just a thought but the point is they need to make survivor more fun to play and give people a reason to queue up other than 400% BP bonus. someone suggested 2000%, and even then i dont think it would be enough to entice people to queue into survivor; it has to be gameplay elements, not incentives.

as far as helping with the 4v1 queue times, idk how to really fix that until dbd's play count skyrockets. i was going to suggest that maybe killers in 2v8 can lose the ability to invite a friend, but then that would take away the novelty of the mode so idk. not sure what they can do with this one.

  5. I don't think there's a fix for this as BHVR can not give out a good enough reward for playing particular roles that isn't leading to them giving out currencies. They could have a set of red and blue numbers for each mode showing how many survivors (blue) and killers (red) are playing each mode to give players an idea of how long they'll wait for a game. But this is not a fix either, just a "hey this is just a disclaimer of how many people are playing which role so you can decide your role based on numbers" unless you don't care and just want to play 2v8 killer even if it had 40 min wait times.

  6. Mutations from L4D2 were rotating modes, one a week, and every popular. Near the end of a Valve’s support for the game they released all as permanent modes in a list. It killed all mutations, period. A once popular alternate thing became a massive list of gimmicks and most had infinite queue times for a lobby. Players got tired of the long queues and went to the main mode, which was basically unaffected. Then queue times were longer, which pushed more people away, and it became a failure cycle. It used to have a sizeable amount of people for the weekly mode, now it’s impossible to play any of them outside a private lobby.

They should definitely keep these modes on a rotation. Maybe a quickly rotating one, like one a week, and let the more popular ones recur more often. But splitting the player base is usually a bad idea

  7. They made killers so fun nobody wants to play survivor by adding a single mode and removing all perks.

Even 400% BP incentive and still all ppl wanna play is killer.

I personally haven’t had as much fun in normal matches as the few I did with a friend.

Trapper is actually very solid to play when you start out with pressure instead of having to start from scratch.

There is a few balancing things I have discussed with my friends like putting the rest of the killers in categories. Example stealth and you can’t pick 2 stealth killers. That could help with some balancing.

But at other hand I wouldn’t mind playing all killers, even doubles and with all perks just like normal with 10 gens. It would be great fun. But balance wise not great and this is a “TOURNAMENT” game after all…. Oh wait it isn’t it’s a streamer coop game.

  8. I've stopped playing killer for the most part which is my main, if they don't find a way to fix the queu times, it needs to go imo. I'm playing a lot of 2v8 for the survivor bonus in order to get more perks. But after that, i'm not looking forward to waiting more than playing.

  9. This is why I personally think another permanent game mode is a bad idea. we should only have temporary so even if whatever mode does get added, it won’t screw the matchmaking for long, The base mode has so much depth that(well I’ll be fair and just say “to me”) it rarely gets boring, especially if they mix it up by adding TEMPORARY modes every now and then. we just don’t have the numbers to support another mode permanently.

  10. I've generally moved to Tekken 8 …. but I'm loving the super fast queue times of Survivor in 2v8 mode along with the +400% BP …… so I'm playing DBD while this mode is up to get easy prestiges.

As far as addressing the Queue times just make the mode 2v6 with each survivor needed to be caged 4 times instead of 3.

  11. Chaos shuffle is more popular than 2v8 and I don't want people to confuse people playing 2v8 with it being popular or people liking it more than other modes because not only are qs broken but maps are broken as well so I main killer and I've been playing 2v8 survivor for quick matches and bp bonus chaos shuffle didn't break the game like 2v8 and people chose to play chaos shuffle because it was fun and the regular q was still intact please don't bring 2v8 to the base game I literally might quit dbd if q times like this are perm

  12. It feels like the way the maychimg works is that it tries to match everyone at once. If the system doesn't find enough players to fill a lobby at 1 time, it just doesn't match them together. If this is the case, the fix would be to create a lobby by matching the killers together first, and then gradually fill the survivors in as they become available

  13. To get more survivors in the game:
    👀👀👄👀👀
    – Give survivors SHARDS not bloodpoints (like 100 for a win/50 for a lose ,or an xp multiplier or, 5 auric cell for wins).
    – or let them bring any item with 1 rare addon of their cohice (or with 2 brown addon).
    – or let them choose their perks (maybe have a special perk pool in this gamemode for survivors, which contain some perk ideas they aren't sure about adding, or fan made concepts, or try old perks).
    – or add famous perk combinations as new roles also a role who starts with random perks).
    – or for the easiest fix; make an option to eliminate skillchecks in 2v8 ,soo I can farm in dbd ,while watching videos or palying on my phone.😅

    Anything but the bloodpoints 😭😭
Also palying survivor in 2v8 is frustrating as hell…
If you are down, you are done for, no flashy pallet or flashlight saves.
If your team ignore you ,you die on 1st hook (add unhook meter if noone around for too long).
You have no means to stop killers from focusing you.
and every survivor destroy generators in some match, and you still have to fix 7 generators while killers already killed 4 survivors but your whole team opening chests and hiding already…

I need much more than bloodpoints to play this game more than 2 rounds in 2v8 survivor lobbies…

  14. I think a good portion of this will dissipate once the Cult of the New wares off and we're used to it. I really think by doing it as a trial run, as a limited time thing, Behavior generated some non-financial FoMo. If/When it's a part of DBD full time, people will get used to it. All games ebb and flow and I don't think this is something that will damage DBD long-term. I think the worst thing that will happen is the drop-off in players once this mode is expired. Tons of casuals came back to try this out, once the game is back to what everyone was used it, many casuals will migrate to whatever game they were played before. The only people suffering right now are Streamers who are struggling to generate interest during the cue times. Especially smaller-scale streamers without dedicated audiences.

  15. My ideas for making killer ques better would be to make it so that doubleing up on the same killer is allowed because in my opinion making it restricted is one of the reasons ques are bad because it only allows you to que with killers your not playing and then the other thing would be making it mmr based so that you not in a complete bout with every single killer in the entire game trying to get into a match and instead only killers the same skill level as you allowing quicker ques

  16. I was wondering about this issue and I was waiting for someone to acknowledge it. I tried to play killer 4 vs 1 and I never found a game. I was wondering if it was bugged or something, because there were no BP incentives for either side.

  17. Doesn't help the servers have literally just started crashing and kicking people constantly about an hour ago.
I end up waiting 20 mins to join a game, then get kicked out and wait 5 minutes just to get back to the main menu.

  18. I feel as though 2v8 should be a mode where everyone that queues in gets assigned a random role: killer or survivor. Sure, it's not as fun to not play the role you want to, but it would help queue times like CRAZY. Then, if you wanted to play a specific role, you'd just hop into normal matches. That's the simplest way to fix this in my opinion.

  19. I think once 2vs8 is permanent people will be more willing to play 1vs4 because they aren’t losing their chance to play 2vs8 since it’s temporary people want to get as much of it while they can

  20. All you guys who are fed up with queue times, come play survivor in 2v8! It's a lot of fun, and you get instant queue times and 400% bloodpoints. Plus you're helping reduce queue times a tiny bit for the killer players. Take it from a guy who almost never plays survivor normally. It's actually a great time in the 2v8 mode.

  21. Having a rotating system like OW2 arcade or like someone else mentioned L4D2 mutations would help, I also think if it was permanent which I would prefer a weekly bloodhunt on one of the 2 modes could heavily mitigate the problem. One mode would suffer longer queuetimes but it wouldn't matter since you'd have 2 to 5x the normal amount of bloodpoints. Could do shard boosts as well if bloodpoints aren't enough, I also think adding more killers to the mode would actually help a lot since people may be more willing to queue up as survivor if they have a chance to go against say, Wesker and Demo, Bubba and Nemesis, Ghostface and Myers or anything like that. Some killer combinations you have could already drastically change up how the game is played on survivor and introducing more of that could lead to potentially a worse, but overall I think better, experience.

  22. 2v8 has no place in dbd unless it becomes the default and lets face it 1v4 is why the game is still here.
The que times will kill the game, nobody wants to wait 20+ mins for 2v8 or 10+ for 1v4 to play killer they will play something else like myself till 2v8 leaves.
Reality has come to this game, the player base can't support both modes unless they put bots in.
What is the point in playing a pvp game if you are gonna run into more bots to cover for a stretch out player base if they do put bots in?

  23. generally speaking, I think the main issue with 2v8 and its que times are more a symptom of the fact that survivor just didn't really get much new in the gamemode itself. I understand why everyone wants to hop onto playing killer, because not only is it a unique experience playing killer with a friend, but you also have a list of different combos that you can do depending on what killer your paired with. conversely survivor had alot more taken away from them than added in 2v8, as you can't bring your own personal perk builds and items. Now, im not asking for them to add perks and items for survivors, I think classes were a good idea, but I don't think the 4 base classes themselves offered enough of a difference maker from the base game of DBD to incentivize people into queing for the 8 survivors. I think if BHVR make this a permanent game-mode, the next update should focus on adding WAY more stuff for the survivor side, to entice people to que up for it. such as adding more way more classes (like 8 more), and honestly, more items for survivors to use in the trials themselves (push along that new item update they were talking about in the AMA down the pipeline) and give maybe 2 new killers instead.

  24. There should be more incentives to play survivors, the 400% BP doesn't feel rewarding considering last month we could earn a lot more from the anniversary. I am a survivor main, but it feels such a gamble with all these new players getting into the game. One match the generators fly and the other one you're the only one repairing them… Out of 8 people. This is less of an issue than the 1v4 mode since the average time is way lower, but I don't want to deal with it. Don't get me wrong, the mode is super fun, but I'd rather play killer and wait the 20 minutes to queue than having to rely on clueless teammates.A lot of the matches I'd rather play with 7 bots and that can fix the issue, but I think they are not advanced enough to be used as a real solution.
