In this video I suggest (and supply a justification for) 8 new features I’d love to see in Dead By Daylight. From voice chat, to map banning & official mod support.

  1. add a competetive mode with perk bans and a rank based system similar to the old one.

leave the grades as is for a casual mode and for the bp reward, have no mmr just for quickest matches

  2. Personally instead of seeing killer and perk banning, I feel they should have a mode that has weekly changes to perks, items, addons and killers. So for example, one week Decisive would lower the timer to 40 seconds but allow survivors to do any action without deactivating, or Monstrous Shrine would increase entity progress by 25% and not allow survivors to attempt escape in the basement. Flashlights have a 15% reduced consumption, and Deathslinger is a 115% killer. Obviously they ain't gotta use my ideas, but something like this would allow the community to test out and give BHVR feedback on good or bad changes, and add more diversity to the meta each week.

  3. 5:37 I pick Dead Hard four times JUST BECAUSE I HATE IT THAT MUCH.
5:44 No, every Killer wouldn't pick D.S., I'm sure most people if given the choice would prefer to ban Dead Hard over Decisive Strike. Slugging someone for sixty seconds isn't such a great pain when having to worry about Dead Hard For Distance.
I'm not the sort of tunnel in the first pace so I don't even care about D.S. but Dead Hard, I fucking loathe that Perk. I count my "Consecutive Killer Games With At Least One Dead Hard" and right now I'm up to thirty nine games. Thirty Nine Killer games with at least one Dead Hard in them. The highest I ever got was fifty-four_. games in a row as Killer with at least one Dead Hard. I stopped counting more than that because counting the two, three or even four Dead Hard games was very depressing. I think I've had _one D.S. in my past five games? I hardly ever see anyone run D.S. even though I often do a "D.s check" where I'll pick up someone who just came off hook and drop them back on the ground if they don't have it.
Then the next Perk I'd ban for sure is Boon: Circle of Healing, because the devs REFUSE to nerf it in the way that matters, that is removing the stapled on Self-Care. As long as the whole team can Self-Care for the low cost of a single Perk slot it'll be broken, even if that's the ONLY thing it does and it doesn't increase healing speed at all.
After that I don't even know what other two Perks I'd ban if given four options, because I really just don't care about any other Survivor Perks enough to want them removed from the game. Every single other Survivor Perk I'm happy to play around but D.H. and CoH need to go for me to have any fun again.
As for Killer Perks no context N.O.E.D., and then Franklin's if someone else is picking N.O.E.D. then Dead Man's Switch because it is too strong when combined with Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance but I'd not want to ban Pain Resonance because gen regression without Ruin is a joke so any Perk that helps with gen regression is fine by me. I'd not even ban Ruin because you can just spend some time finding it. So I'm not really sure my fourth Perk there.

    Ban Dead Hard.
If you couldn't Dead Hard For Distance I'd have no problem with it but right now ban Dead Hard. Four times over ban it.

6:42 Well in the latest player satisfaction survey they had questions about if you'd like to see a casual game mode or not. I said yes, I would and that I'd play it more than the completive one. So maybe you're "They've said they'll not do this." statement is outdated and they've changed their minds. People do that. For good or ill people change their minds all the time. And we can't TRUST the Dead by Daylight devs to keep their word anyways. Anyone remember Early Game Collapse? I wasn't around for it but I heard about it often enough.

    Ban Dead Hard.

9:32 Yeah, like I said, the devs promise things and don't deliver. We can't; trust them.

    Ban Dead Hard.

You're not ugly at all, and yes, it makes sense to have your face here but not on the myth busting videos.

    Thanks for the video Pebsie.

    Ban Dead Hard.

  4. Imagine community servers of DBD man. I would go to play some rol play too lol, like a freacking Meg with the white mask that joins the Legion and sabotages other survivors matches

    I kinda want this now

  5. Solid points, to me I think the game needs 3 things…cross progression (idk why this isn’t in yet), auto balance (so you dont need to play sweaty, or worry about being steamrolled cas you aren’t used to something, or simply cas balancing DbD is impossible), and quick text chat (like hit a single key and send a msg like “working on a gen” or “going for the save” or “being chased” etc.)

  6. The developers have improved queue times a lot. However, custom servers are essential to the longevity of Dead by Daylight. I love this game but it needs more options for how to play!

  7. Most of these suggestions just don't fit for DBD, if you want to rework this much, you might as well play a different game. Not to mention almost all of them were ass. I liked the voice chat one though

  8. The problem I see with the perk ban system is, what if you have no other good perks to replace the banned perks? Or your build revovles around one. Not everyone is a 10,000 hour p3 everything player. There aren't enough good perks anyway, 95% are crap.
And while I want to see VC added, if it was proximity based, we'd just have SWFs avoid that with discord anyway, so it wouldn't really change much.

  9. Instead of voice chat, I'd rather just have quick chat commands or even just survivor status icons (on gen, in chase, etc) since I live in east Asia and match with Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and god knows what other language speaking players

  10. Tbh, lots of people say voice chat wouldn’t work in DbD but it totally would. For example, if a survivor was T-bagging and clicking at the killer for fun, then they could tell the killer there doing it for fun thus not making it toxic.

  11. I wonder if modders would be particularly capable of working through DbD's spaghetti code. I think at the very least the spaghetti code would make it difficult to have multiple mods from several different authors running at the same time.

  12. I wish they would someday give every different survivor some unique ability, possibly with a set of weaknesses to boot. (i.e: every time Dwight screams, all other survivors see his location. BUT the killer also reads his aura for 6 seconds. Dwight can scream on command with the Active Ability button (with a cooldown)." or "Meg has a stamina bar. While sprinting, she moves at 110% speed, but this speed decreases to 92% if sprinting for longer than 45 seconds. Long recovery period" stuff like that, ideally creative enough so it ISN'T just a stat increase like "Claudette heals 10% faster."

In such a case, I would hope that voice chat is then an ability given to a single one of these survivors (i.e: Ash Williams or some other not-free character). So if you see Ash Williams in your lobby, you know what you're getting. Ability's downside is maybe the survivor decreases in speed slightly if they're audio output is too loud, just to keep things a bit more civil between them and the killer chasing them.

  13. The biggest problem with changing the way you do gens or adding a different task os the fact that you have tons of perks that work only for the current gens.

BHVR will have to change or rework many perks (and addons too) if they decide to change the way you power the gates. And, you know… BHVR doesnt like to do a lot of job, especially if it includes perks

  14. map ban is kind of a thing with sacrificial ward, not great but hey thats consumable map offerings for ya, also how awful would it be if perk bans where a thing new chapter drops and people keep banning the new perks

  15. I think if the game adds voice chat, it shouldn't be proximity based, it should just be team chat, and I think it's a necessary addition because the game is currently balanced around the idea that players are not talking to each other, which leads to the experience of playing against a SWF and playing against a solo team being completely incomparable. Adding survivor chat would suck for killers for about a month, then it would lead to changes to perks and game mechanics that made the games more fair for everyone.

  16. To the perk banning thing I really don’t want a repeat of rainbow six siege, idk how banning ds every time would play out. It would just encourage more tunneling etc.

  17. i have a really small thing – i think charms are stupid as they are and a waste of precious data. instead of being tiny things that can be noticed if you look real hard, what if you could place down each of your three charms once per trial in a small trophy that you could offer one another!

  18. I think a good adjective to have would be survivors has to make/repair the exit gate switches or something. Idk I just want to do something more than just generators the whole time honestly I’m open to any changes

  19. I think the meta just needs to be shifted from DH, DS and gen regression I think the new perks introduced and buff/rework outdated/bad perks e.g. hangman’s trick

  20. I just wanted to mention the perk and map banning and exchange is a good idea, but it really doesn’t work well. It’s just too complicated for most players. For example, they tried it in Overwatch and the professional Overwatch League and it really came with a poor response.
