Deathslinger hard counters the new DH
But the new dead hard doesn’t have iframes per say. You still have a hit box, so things like trapper traps and deathslingers gun should still affect them through the endurance right? Things that the previous DH could dodge. Not to mention they are stuck in animation, so things like jumping over a window / pallet while the endurance is active wont be a problem. I think this is a nerf, but we’ll see in the ptb.
Well crutch hard won't feel as bad anymore. The only thing I hated was attacks not registering. Now you'll know what happened and get a visual without guaranteed distance. Still a good change
Its funny in my opinion, this rework kinda feels like it makes Metal of man more useless, or maybe nuts combine.
At least the rework is going to show how game-breaking Dead Harding for distance is. A lot of people are going to have a really tough time looping now and will have to play a lot safer.
Dead Hard right now is the strongest perk in the game imo. More than Decisive, Ruin, NOED, etc. It's an extra health state because you can both dead hard away from killers swings and special abilities (probably not trappers power anymore though), and you can also dead hard for distance and shoot forward in some direction.
The new dead head has a much better reward if the killer messes up and hits you, but now it actually has risk. If you dead hard and the killer waits it out or times a hit well, you just go down. I think for high IQ players and cheaters this is a buff, but for everyone else they will struggle to use it at all.
Dead hard shouldn't be in the game or only allowed to be used by newer /low level players
Dead hard doubled speed for 0.5 seconds new dead hard if you can take the hit will sprint burst at 150%(1.5x) for 3 seconds math.
You can literally get to and through windows easier now, this game is going to get so much more difficult for killers with the incoming endurance meta… Some survivors are just very upset because the perks they rely on are being changed, and they don’t want to learn to adapt, hence why they use second chance perks in the first place. NOED nerf was needed too and the killer nerfs are fair and just, but killers definitely got the short end of the stick… Game is gonna continue to be insanely survivor sided, these devs do not play their own game as much as they should, they’re not doing a very good job at balancing and yet again, a lot are disappointed in them. But hey, at least we still have Fire Up 😭
Also it will be much better against ranged killers in shack, you activate it then just fast vault and get a speed boost from the hit lol
It's not 1 meter less with the new DH. You got 3 meters with the old DH in half a second. That's it, your i-frames ran out after that, so no reason to add anything else. But for the new DH, you get 4 meters of distance and 1 second of i-frames, which is both more distance and more i-frames than the old DH.
People will grow out of using DH for distance. But being able to literally tap a button and freely walk to the pallet and then drop it the frame after you invincibility runs out will be incredibly strong. And that's not even mentioning the 50/50 EVERY time you go to hit a survivor. Time it wrong, and they sprint burst away. But wait too long and they get to the next pallet for free. It's gonna be a nightmare.
I think the new dh will be the same as the old one.
I think you're completely correct on the situation where the survivor is Dead Harding for distance to an undropped pallet. You can't lunge early since they'll easily be able to react to that with 'E' and get their speed boost. Then they're protected for the final second to the pallet with DH, and then they finally drop the pallet the very instant that DH wears off. The question isn't whether or not they can still DH for distance with the new system but rather it is a question of "how much distance" can they safely DH for?
The silver lining is that since the survivor is locked within their DH animation, then they can't perform vaulting actions until after their endurance shield has expired. This means that they can't DH for distance to windows or dropped pallets since the killer has been closing ground on them this whole time and will be in a prime position to hit/grab them.
My big concern is that the new DH is a huge buff to subltle-hackers who are running automated deadhards. BHVR just handed them a third health state on a silver platter, and they maintain plausible deniability since from footage you can't prove if the DH was automated or a legitimate player action.
Despite DH requiring skill to use now, its actually a straight up nerf to quite a handful of killers who’s powers force them to injure a survivor (arguably stronger on killers who it countered before) since now its a free speed boost
1)Run into Bubba’s Chainsaw if you’re injured
2) Pig’s Ambush
3) Corrupt Purge
4) Huntress Hatchets
5) Oni’s Demon Dash
6) Nurse Blink
7) Blight Rush
8) Artist’s Crows (when in range)
9) Pyramid Head’s Rites of Judgement
10) Twins/Victor’s Pounce
11) Nemesis’ Tentacle Whip (you can now drop a pallet safely infront of him, take the hit, get a speed boost, and the pallet is not broken)
And 12) possibly Trickster’s knives (he can trigger BT assuming he can hit all his knives, so assuming you time the last knife perfectly you can get New DH value)
And even on other killers, its still a break even like it always did. Its may only buff certain killers like:
1) Doctor for his Shock
2) Freddy for his Snare’s
And (maybe) surprisingly 3) Trapper’s traps
Obviously this needs testing, but if the whole point is to get a 3rd health state for free then this might actually be worse for meta than it currently is

I thought so too untill I realized you probably won't be able to interact with pallets or windows untill the I frames are over meaning you will have a window to hit them just a small one
as long as they dont have a dash i think its ok
good thing the PTB comes tomorrow to test that. it does sound like dead hard's nerf might not be as significant as we thought
Also it won't be visible probably which makes it impossible for a killer to wait it out
From what i gather about the new dead hard yea a 1m difference is miniscule but another slight issue i can see coming up… is there an animation for when the DH? cause if there is not then killers are gunna have a rough time judging when they can swing or if it is safe to.. they lose DH for distance luckily but they could always just apply DH for when they need distance and the killer is about to hit them so it works out basically the same no?
Also heard they are making gens take 90 seconds now 😪🙄. Taking the most boring thing in the game and making it even more boring. Behavior needs to make gens take longer indirectly by creating an in between step, like having to find parts, and gas for generators. The speed should be faster. The time it takes for gens needs to be interesting and risky.

Nope. Killers will just react to the end of dead hard and hit them after but before the pallet hits them. I could be wrong, but I think there is a fairly wide window of opportunity between the pallet being dropped and the pallet stun.
It is kinda funny how Dowsey for sure said it’s dead but so do a lot of other people seem to thing so now. Especially after seeing it in action. Now idk if this was before or after that stream yesterday not sure. But I do think it will just be a good perk now. Not op.
