It’s probably a theme for Resident Evil, but I immediately thought of Ju-On: The Grudge. Many Japanese horror movies have piano themes that are somber and lonely.
I could totally see this being 1800s killer, resident evil survivor lobby music, or for the new lead in the tomes lobby where the observer previously was
