and a huge thanks for the conversation opener, great piece.
I rerecorded myself reacting to this because I did a bad job understanding Killa Whales points and I honestly regret not watching it fully first before reacting which I did now

  1. After rewatching my initial response to the video I regret not watching it fully first some of the things being said were certainly half baked and I downplayed poor behaviour which I should not have done, so I rerecorded it this morning.
I am honestly more interested in the public perception of comp as a whole, if you have any questions about comp specifically or things you are interested in hearing more about I would love to hear it once again

  2. Lmao 😂 the screen of tru3s plague with 1k5 against 1 perk each is awesome…("top 1% mmr in the hardest region" 🤣 )…you can't deny the skill if they play at a disadvantage on purpose and still win.

  3. it all comes back to the initial and integral point: it’s personal opinion. no matter the argument, no matter the the debate or anything that’s said… the main point of play style or enjoyment or anything centred around how you play is personal opinion. i don’t mind being tunnelled in public matches or slugged or bmd, i think that’s just the other side expressing their way of playing which i wont criticise because both sides have their own strategies and equally busted aspects and play styles that completely can and will destroy the other. infact, being tunnelled and making it out in public matches is really really fun and enjoyable, gets a good thrill out of you. i can completely see from the comp side aswell why tunnelling and other comp strats are integral to winning for your team, i just personally don’t see why people criticise the comp scene for their personal issues and nit picks.

  4. I think people grossly overevaluate how many hours you actually need to be incredibly good at this game, because most of these people have at least 5000 hours themselves and refuse to believe that others don't struggle reaching their level of skill 5 times sooner

Also if I lose because I got outperked/outoffered or whatever, it's just whatever, wheras I'm mad impressed by people who can crush my perkless clown with pure skill

  5. i think something that kinda bugs me is the mind set of "just fix your community" because you cant really control how people react or what they do,you can try your best to guid people in a certain way but you can't control people

  6. Hi Hens, what if you create go fund me for the next invitational tournament? If every person liking watching comp (I watch it on YouTube already edited) give just 1 euro in advance, I think you could financially sustain the organisation, editors work, your salary and maybe even a little prise for the winner? There are no sponsors, but we, the viewers, could be the sponsors

  7. perk ban video would be interesting for at least a few perks
more interested in this idea though: if the 4v1 is so uninteresting from a competitive standpoint then why not just skip to doing 3v1? fewer players are required and you skip to what you'd consider to be more interesting gameplay, and potentially support a ruleset that encourages more interactivity.

  8. Hens acknowledging that everything is so subjective is something I don’t hear enough of. Everyone has their own definition of “good” and everyone has their own preferred play style and perspective. Speaking in absolutes does nothing for the dialogue except fuel conflict and argument. This game is so unique and complex that it’s impossible to make broad statements with high validity behind them, there is so much context to be accounted for.

  9. just curious as i’m not an everyday comp watcher but do enjoy the content of it a lot. two questions
    1. console players, do you think it is possible for any of them to really be able to compete not even with just the best but in general?
    2. 1v1 ladder can be found where?

  10. When I first started watching comp I saw knightlights stream and knew right away he was toxic and elitist lol, and he definitely pub stomps 😂 but it's what makes him funny to watch, I think its just content. You have wholesome streamers like otz and tofu, and you have toxic assholes like knightlight and hens(lol jk). But it's just a game, so at the end of the day who cares? Play what and how you want.

  11. I'm really glad you decided to rerecord this video because when my fiancé and I watched it last night, we got so confused, lol. There were times when you would say, "I disagree with x" and killer whale would say the same thing after you unpaused. It felt really dismissive. I'm excited to watch this version!

  12. 1:05:30 what a dumb argument. Its supposed to be a "horror" or at least thrilling game. People dont want the game to look like candy land. Part of the fun was for me to hide in bushes or close to the killer without him seeing me. After seeing how filters ruin this its just sad. You want the game to be brighter? play fortnite. This is part of the game how its supposed to be played.

  13. I've realized sweaty players often don't want a challenge, they want to win no matter what it takes (sometimes exploiting if possible). They also want attention. I beat this team watch my video. And in every assym I've ever played the same has always held true: killer sided vs soloq, survivor sided amongst the top players.

  14. Kind of felt like the latter half was just this dude saying that Knightlight said some untrue things and is a kid. We can agree on that but I don't think that necessarily suggests a lot about the rest of the scene. The normal-ish people are of course just less vocal.

  15. Id love to see a video about why perk restrictions/tourney rules are the way they are. I think transparency about it and an in depth video about it would help a lot of non comp players understand everything better
