  1. Hi Otz! Rank 1 Oni main here!

    I use a build that helped me learn how to play Oni, and gets me consistent results even after raising my skill to where it is now. I've never seen another Oni use this build, but compared to all of the builds I have tried, this one gets me the most consistent results;

    Hex: Ruin
    Hex: Undying
    Hex: Retribution
    Tinkerer

    I'll explain the value of the perks in two sets, starting with Tinkerer.

    Tinkerer has two major upsides with this build on Oni. First; it synergizes very well with Hex: Ruin. Stopping a survivors progress on a nearly finished generator is very important. If you chase a survivor off of a nearly finished gen, and your power is active, survivors are very hesitant to try and sneak past you to finish it for them. Oni, when powered up, is a very oppressive killer. Second, the undetectable effect can help you manage your power both when it is active, or inactive. If your power is up, it can let you get right up to a survivor with a well timed blood rush, giving you an easy down. If your power is inactive, it can sometimes guarantee you a free first hit. This first hit is more important on Oni than most killers, as the sooner you hit a survivor, the sooner you can start to collect blood.

    Next, The Hex: Combo. Your 50 win streak with The Shape opened my eyes to Hex: Retribution/Undying combo. I find that Ruin is the strongest delay perk for Oni, compared to corrupt and pop, for a few reasons. One, it allows for tinkerer to activate more consistently. When you chase someone off of a generator, it regresses the generator quickly back down to the threshold needed to activate tinkerer. Two, it allows you to focus on chasing, downing, hooking, and most importantly, collecting blood. Corrupt is an okay alternative, but when using pop, after hooking someone, I often find that I have to chose between returning to a generator to activate pop, or going to where I last saw a stash of blood orbs. Sometimes, you get lucky, and the generator you want to use pop on has blood all around it, but this is not consistent. I'm sure the Undying/Retribution combo speaks for itself. Much like your reasoning with the Shape, it gives you valuable information about the survivors that helps you effectively use your power. Similarly, like you mention, infectious suffers from the same issues with Oni as it does with the Shape.

    Cheers to all, and I hope you like this build!

  2. I love to run lethal pursuer on Oni along with ruin, as I can often easily get 1 hit ( and sometimes even 2) with the knowledge of survivors where about by going straight to the spawn place of multiple survivors, then immediately go to the gen being worked on by the single survivor (also known from lethal pursuer), chase/down him and let it regress back to 0

  3. Personally, I think the most Aggressive Doctor build is BBQ and Chilli, Iron Maiden, No Way Out, and Pop or another Gen Slow Perk like Eruption or even better…Thanataphobia.

    With this, you need only find one survivor to find them all…You can commit heavily to a chase and ensure the down because once hooked, BBQ will reveal the best course for you to move to. If survivors try to hide in lockers to avoid your BBQ vision OR to avoid screaming from your Static Blast, you now will hear them scream when they leave the locker, and be able to punish them with an Instantdown if you arrive in time…Which then grants you a Pop charge…Rinse and repeat. This will constantly ensure you have at least 1 dead by the end game usually and most likely everyone else on Death Hook. With No Way Out kicking in, they are now trapped with no way to hide from your deadly hunt.

  4. Hey otz, thoughts on swapping out lethal pursuer on everyone except pinhead? Survivors will almost always spawn far from you and will have 2 people sit on a gen meaning discordance does what lethal pursuer does but repeatedly throughout the match, and if the survivors do split up to 4 separate gens it's extremely likely that you'll find someone anyways.

  5. Infectious + Monitor and abuse can create some very interesting dynamics for the Trickster as well! Its gimmicky i'll admit, but if survivor's aren't careful and get caught out in a cluster of unsafe loops Trickster has incredibly fast downing potential. Moreso a fun build than a meta build however!
