Today, we’re providing context for a video we made last week about BHVR supposedly banning a Spirit player for bodyblocking, since new information came out showing that wasn’t quite the case.

  1. On one hand, BHVR needs to come up with a solution against survivors who won't progress the game. As for him injecting a bunch of add-ons he didn't earn and people thinking "it's not a big deal". That's like breaking into a store, moving things around a little and leaving without stealing. You still broke in…

  2. There is a universe where developers don't permaban for cheating. Temp banning can lead to reforms. For example, Blizzard had a ban wave for rotation bots a few years back. Except, instead of Blizzard just permabanning a swath of their loyal fans, each ban was six months.

The fact that players can inject anything is wildly incompetent. I feel like this should have been a non-issue since it shouldn't be possible. I don't know what spaghetti BHVR ended up with in their live service game that trusts the client enough to just let players have infinite addons and whatever skins they desire.

Anecdote and rant aside, the cheat ban was deserved, even if I don't agree with permanent bans for something so benign. It's a shame they got the initial punishment for body blocking though.

  3. My stance, is body-blocking is listed as a ban-able offense by BHVR. It's part of the game and it should not be on that list. If they have a problem with how the hit boxes interact then as a dev they should change it.

  4. I will never understand the people that will defend save injection cheating by saying it is no big deal. BHVR has and should continue to have a heavy handed punishment for it. No matter how you look at it, it is still cheating. This is clearly an issue of If you give them an inch they will take a mile. It would never just stop at modding in a few extra addons for a killer/survivor.

  5. Behavior needs to stop half assing bans. This is blatantly apparent with this issue. The spirit player was 100% wrong but so were the survivors, and they got off Scott free. Seriously Behavior needs to seriously decide what is or isn't a bannable offense and make it So it's clear and defined when you report it and have a 0 tolerance policy. It sucks it's harsh, but until they do something, We're gonna keep getting situations like this.Where its back and forth and it turns out both parties are bad. It's so frustrating man

  6. Ever since the big BP economy update I have never needed to grind for addons, I don't get people who do.. Like, maybe if you're even running double iri every match, but that's not even good on most killers.

  7. There is bias and too easy to say the survivors were holding the game hostage. They may be doing that, but gens are not ‘the objective,’ only an objective and you don’t know what else was happening in the game. Hiding in the killer terror radius for a certain timeframe is emblem worthy, staying the game 9 minutes earns blood points, being the last in the game and getting the hatch can be a BHVR given objective, and being afraid of a killer who tunnels out two survivors is also defensible depending on how that killer plays or is perceived of playing. Dismissively saying survivors started it is assumptive. Body blocking is not an equivalent either.

  8. I agree with you on some parts but survivors hidding I don't fully see as a bad thing. Hatch Is a thing for example. Say you easily kill the other 2 survivors at 5 gens. You can't come back as survivor. Then the best thing is to hide and when one survivor gets down and possible slug. The other one has only a choice to hide and wait for hatch. Don't get me wrong it sucks to be in a long game. Been in a hour game with some killers cause they wanted to camp gens. Thought the same time slugging a survivor for 4 mins to get the 4k is also holding the game hostage. As your wasting everyone's time as well.

  9. I strongly feel the ban is not only fair, but it's justified. Carol intentionally started a hate campaign on DBDTwitter. That place is a well known toxic and incredibly reactive place. I use X to get game info and freebies so I was pretty taken aback when I saw the super inclusive community actively dogpiling BHVR for being anti-LGBT. Yes, they were consistantly calling BHVR, the most LGBT friendly game I have ever seen, anti-LGBT because they seemingly banned a player for body blocking. When the truth came out, it just made everyone involved look really really stupid. Why would reasonable people with a voice in the community back players with a smaller voice anymore at all after this? If anything, it shows they probably shouldn't. Which isn't good for anyone.

  10. I think you misinterpreted the story a bit. The letter carol got back said “due to a previous account already being permanently banned”, which means he was already banned for the save injecting previously. So this current ban that was going to be 2 weeks for bodyblocking was escalated to their second perma, which I think is too harsh for a sort of gray area where the other surv could’ve done the gens quicker than 6-7 minutes and started EGC.

It would be so simple to add an anti bodyblocking mechanic too. If survs have 3 crows they don’t have collision with the killer would be so easy. They could also add some crow accumulation or killer instinct mechanic for the 2v1

  11. To anyone saying "well he only added some addons it's not a big deal!" this is a person who keeps revealing that they were lying and hiding things from us. Why are we assuming that this is it and there cannot be any possible more shoes to drop?

Carol cheated. Carol broke the rules. Carol got banned as a consequence. BHVR Win.

  12. I think the bigger issue is actually the way blood points and add ons work. In this game if you wanted to you could play killer only with specific add ons. Whenever you run out you could just play survivor because of bloodpoint incentives or whatever.

For example, lets say you wanted to main Freddy and get good at Freddy. To do that you basically need the Iridescent paint brush because that add on changes how you gather information (and makes him suck less). With the paint brush, if you see on the HUD that someone has woken up and they’re not yellow due to using the alarm clock, then you know that they are with another survivor, which could change your target priorities. Since two survivors are not doing gens you probably shouldn’t use your teleport because it won’t force them off and the cooldown is going to be increased afterwards. instead you might set up dream snares until at least two survivors are woken up. If you use another add on you can’t get better at this skill of playing freddy, so you’re incentivised to play a role you don’t want to play so you can unlock more time playing as the role you want to play.

I imagine the same is true with mother-daughter ring Spirit. If you’re trying to get better with mother daughter ring, then any other add on actively hinders your ability to improve because it gives you back the ability to see scratch marks. So instead you grind a role you don’t want to play.

I absolutely understand the impetus to import more add-ons, especially when there is effectively no difference to the other side. I’m actually on the spirit player’s side because I don’t think he’s cheating, he’s just deciding not to waste his time doing something he doesn’t want to do.

  13. Save injecting okay if you purchased or earned those items at any point in the past and you lose access to your account for any or no reason.

If you never purchased or earned the items, then you're stealing.

  14. I don't have much to comment on the actual main situation because obviously we all know it's dumb that this person tried to make it out that the permaban was over the body block, but I have an idea for survivors hiding and giving up.
What if when no survivors touch the objective for at least two minutes (maybe 1 minute tbh), end game collapse begins, but without the powered exit gates and generators are not blocked, so survivors still have somewhat of a chance to escape if they change their minds, but now very slim because they're on a very short timer.

  15. I'm of the mind if u wanna waste my time hiding as killer the more 'appropriate' yet imo immature tactic is to slug and bleed them out for 4 mins. I personally would've just hooked the survivor I found and if the other got hatch or went to save whatever. On top of the afk crows or to combat the drop/pick up item to prevent getting crows tactic is to have the survivor who is just standing in one place get their aura revealed after 10 or 20 seconds so they have to walk around the map and can't just sit in a corner. This is just my opinion I doubt bhvr will make any changes as far as that goes

  16. Carol could have been 'Subtle cheating' all this time. We have only Carols word for the reason for the ban. Why are we accepting their word for the reason when they have already been proven to have cheated and lied? Even the 'mild' Save injection version is bad enough with 60 'Harmless' Addons for each addon for each killer amount to 30,000 add ons for 'free', some of these addons are game changing and should not be available to every killer for every match. However why would Carol have just stopped there and not also had all the killers, survivors, perks and cosmetics unlocked as well? or even a full blown cheating program? We still have only got their word for it.

Also Im sure Behavior regard Save injection as a really Big issue as it gives access to paid content for free so it actively impacts their business.

  17. Ah yes. They only added addons when it is unbelievably easy to get them.

Cheating for something that small feels like they have a low threshold to cheating so who’s to say they haven’t done other stuff.
