  1. It's not what they took thats an issue, but the fact they took it in the first place. If someone stole 25 cents from me, I wouldn't give a shit about the 25 cents but I would be mad they took something from me. Granted that didn't steal the cosmetics, but they still took them wrongfully imo.

  2. This was the nail in the coffin for me. I've played nearly every day for four years and this last stretch has been wearing me thin, however the teams response and desperation is awful. MMR has made the game stressful, sweaty, and very grindy. Now, the fact that they are turning their cosmetics and who knows what else they will turn to into a weapon is just ridiculous. However offensive a quote can be(really!?) aside, this just sums up how they feel about their fan base and game audience. I for one don't feel cared for as a fan anymore and I'm literally uninstalling it on both PC and XBOX right now.

  3. Had a mod mute me on Reddit for 3 days because – quote – "Stop, this shit won't matter in 3 days anyway" after I criticized their removal of cosmetics XD
They are as pathetic as bhvr. What I'm surprised by though is how many people didn't notice the continent-sized egos of the devs who told us to go play Civ 6 if we didn't like how the game was.

  4. Gosh Josh how dare you have your own opinion and show your personality while giving feedback on a game.

Dbd wants Fog Whispers to give them feedback on how the game is doing. Also DBD bans and takes gifts away for them giving said feedback. I honestly feel like the devs are not playing their own game to get an understanding of what the current situation is. I personally agree with everything you said and was rightfully confused with his hockey terms.

  5. What you said about this incident creating a precedent for the future is spot on. Very shameful & childish on behalf of Behaviour to react like this. I hope this serves as a wake up call for their senior management.

  6. Makes so much sense now!
I had a forum that got deleted and resulted me in a perma ban for simply creating a debate on how Trickster's throwing knives buff was way too overpowered and people responded with their own opinions which I acknowledged but the mods thought I was being toxic so they removed it and myself included. They've done this more than once to me. The whole company/people who manage the community are all toxic man. Its nuts.

Another thing was with how they handled Tru3ta1ent's situation with how they pretty much manipulated enough people to thinking he was making fun of a disabled person just because of his strong accent. Which resulted him being kicked out of the Fog Whisperers.

  7. Under your last video I suggested the shirts might've been taken away from your account for not streaming on Twitch for quite a while. Turns out I was wrong, they actually did remove the shirts over your criticism ; after that I felt like I owed it to you to look again at the criticism you made and see if I would've considered that targeted harassment.

Frankly, I am a bit inconclusive here. Overall I do feel like putting the face of one specific developer on the thumbnails of videos you upload for 123k subscribers is like literally placing a crosshair on him. The thumbnail from the video you mentioned "When Devs Don't Understand Their Own Game" has Patrick's face and the text "Skill is not skillful" next to it – just like you explain in this video you do insert your own interpretation of what skill means into his quote and the title suggests that the devs not understanding their own game was just a fact. Truth is, that is your take on it and is thus a misrepresentation of what he originally said.

Obviously, what titles and thumbnails you choose is part of your liberty as a creator and I will not undermine that. I will, however, go ahead and claim that not all criticism is legitimate as you claim in this video. Constructive criticism is an absolute must imo when making bold claims like the above. Mixing criticism with memes, especially ones like the Sigma meme can also go awry within a minute, since not everybody might share the same humour you do. And shortening criticism which you intend to be honest down to a single sentence in a title or quote on a thumbnail will easily misconvey what your intention might be. The devs have previously taken up constructive criticism really well as evidenced by the Otzdarva perk change suggestions which have come through so far. Phrasing is important and also part of general courtesey.

In the thumbnail of this video you changed "Hello Josh" to "Hello Traitor". I am sure you can imagine how something like this heavily takes away from your criticism and creates an emotionally charged space. While I hope it's not true, I could be writing this comment for nothing – perhaps the latter was what you were going for after all. If so, then BHVRs decision on this matter is very much in the right.

  9. Imagine clickbaiting just to say the same things you said last video. You can speak your opinion. You can paraphrase, but at the same time quoting it and saying Patrick said it. Therefore, It Is misrepresentation. You did a bad thing and got punished mildly my guy. You could potentially get sued for what you did tbh. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  10. Dead by Daylight will die if they don't listen to the community. This is simply a fact but it also means there is still time to turn things around. I hope they do but it'll take a lot of work on their part.

I wanted to become a Fog Whisperer at some point but after this I don't think I want to be associated with a company that acts out of pettiness.

  11. Good god. I was there. 3000 years ago in the Blizzard World of warcraft schaman forums. We were angry. We were loud. We hattest a class leader out of his job with Our dotshocks. You did nothing to that poor little fragile boy. NOTHING!

  12. I'm so frustrated with this game now. SBMM really has everything to do with it. I shouldn't lose mmr to someone who has 300 hours to my 1500 when I run them around the whole game to die to an endgame perk. not to mention teammates just leave now. I am not in the correct Skill Base and the whole system does not work. If BHVR doesn't listen to the community on this one, then they truly don't care about the state of their game. Do better Patrick. Where is the logic

  13. We can talk about this drama at length for ages, really. And I'm not accusing Dowsey of covering anything up when I say this, but the bottom line is "BHVR's ego was hurt, and so they punished the person that hurt them."
It is the most childish thing that could've happened, it's a literal PR nightmare (amongst everything else). They should lose players and income over this.

  14. I mean, yeah, devs make questionable decissions towards balance, but making video called "BHVR's devs don't give a f*ck " and claim that devs don't understand their game is well… also questionable. That's far from criticism, as you put it, that's just, y'know, rude thing to say.
    …The joke was funny tho.

  15. i think the problem is that you did not simply "criticize" their qna; your thumbnails and titles were aggressive towards them and treated patrick like an absolute incompetent moron. your attitude in the video was not that much better, and i think that's what they punished.
it's still petty from them, but you kinda asked for it 😬

  16. This is crazy! I'm SOOO much more happy I quit dbd like 5 months ago! I knew that the devs were getting an ego and just LOVE to show their "power" over us instead of actually focusing on their game. Never coming back. Can't wait for VHS! A game where the devs care about their game and their community.

  17. Totally is a big deal. I still love the game the way it’s going rn from a survivor mains POV. But it’s concerning that he reacted so harshly over criticism. Hopefully the game doesn’t crash and burn because he’s too burnt out to take criticism and work on it :/

  18. Disagree when its not constructive critisicsm, in extreme cases with some developers getting abuse and or death threats over the state of a piece of entertainment.

Either way if people saw your tweet first and didn't see the video they might actually think that the lead designers said these exact words that you wrote (as you used his picture and put quotes round it looks like he said it) which is falsifying information, and could esclate to him getting asked why did you say this.

Still dont think he ever said Dead By Daylight was "like hocky" but was using this as a relatable (and being Canadian its their national sport) example to explain why using the MMR calculations of actions (like loop time compared to shots on target) would lead to messy code math of everyone always increaing their MMR wether they won or not (like escapes/kills compared to goals). So think the point of this example was to demonstrate that a team or player could still perfmorm more skilled should win more games but if they loose every game then they will still be at the bottom of the league. I Understand why people criticse this system scoring in Dead By Daylight, and i dont think its perfect a perfect system by any means and im sure they will iterate on it as time goes on but things like this take time based on resources and other schedueled content.

All about people being pasionate about the games they love and providing constuctive feedback is really valuable to developers, but when you start targeting individual people over health state of a game is pretty pathetic in my opinion. The video above which you also gave a pretty insulting title is actually pretty soul destorying to hear especially if you are a developer who has poured their heart and soul (And possibly crunched giving up their free time) into a creative project and worked as hard a possible to produce what they could within the companies deadlines, and until you have had this done to you then you cannot understand how that feels. Even if you beleive that is true comments like this that can kill individuals passion for projects or may even lead to them leaving the industry as a hole, especially if more people rally around you accusing developers of not careing about the projects they work on.

At the end of the day if BHVR sees this conduct as a breach of standards they expect content creaters who have been given these cosmetics to uphold then is their right as a company to do so, as esencially you could be considered to be representing their company on socials by being one of the bigger more popular DBD content creators, so if yours and their views dont match up you have to respect that they dont want to be assoicated with you. So accept the consequences and move on. So you say your'e affraid to criticise them but you are not affraid to keep Dead By Day Light as the main focus of your channel which is making you income though?

  19. Dowsey, I got some criticism for you, I would like to see your background better. lol You should try to move the masks and such a bit closer. because as it stands, it looks like a spare room from my grandmas house. time to step it up boss. lol

also, another great video. ty for speaking on this subject, I recently found DBD, and I really love it, but the fact there are issues with the MMR system really bothers me. I really wish the devs would step up so we could have a proper competitive scene for people to work towards. imo.
