BIGGER CONTENT CREATORS are the Problem! Dead by Daylight

Today I am just ranting. Been a while so thought would drop a video about how the bigger creators are part of the problem in Dead by Daylight. Fresh from Twitch Shirt Sagas, we have the usual zombies just jumping around in a mass frenzy at the Dead by Daylight Developers, up in arms about the fall of the twitch shirt in DBD. Frankly I believe that some of these people are part of the problem and you all know which content creators I mean. They just fire venom every day at the game and quite honestly just spew the same nonsense all the time.

I look forward to all the comments about me being a behavior shill, a boot licker and anything else that you might think about myself or the video. However like I say on the video, use your brains and understand the entitlement that comes from some of these so called bigger content creators.

PS I am not Patrick!

  1. Argh! BHVR shill! Boot licker! And uh… consults notes ass kisser!!

In all seriousness, you articulated all of this well. Inciting a hate mob is in no way productive and only breeds further toxicity in the community. Otz is one of the most respected players in the community and frequently tests balance, gives critique, voices his frustrations and is STILL a Fog Whisperer with his shirts/charm. You don’t see people siting that though.

  2. Hey you shill!! Nah just kidding. Glad you are back hope you enjoyed your break. I have been continuing dbd on and off when I stop enjoying I play something else. Tbh I am enjoying killer if I don't worry about kills and just enjoy the game.
Look forward to seeing more video's.
Ps I hope you didn't clap!!!
PPS not a chance I'm telling my wife she's fat.

  3. I think I’m gonna unsubscribe, I don’t want to support anyone encouraging behaviours… well behavior. This is my own opinion and it’s nothing against you I just want to see change.

They’re destroying their own game with their god awful attitude. They are a massive company, massive companies need to be professional. They don’t get to act like crying children. They don’t understand their own game and they refuse to learn it, they time and time again act like pathetic kids and the community is (hopefully) finally deciding to stop tolerating it.

  4. You've got your eyes wide open right here. 👀 I don't know why more people can't see it. Some of these content creators desperately want to move on from DBD but they can't unless they migrate their audience with them. How do they do that? Vilify the devs. Bash the game. Keep banging the drum until they convince the audience and get permission to move on and take them with them. It's like being in a real world job they can't stand but they lack the skill set to do something else.

  5. Honestly glad someone's finally speaking up about the epidemic of sheep in the dbd community. Literally everytime a content creator ever does anything all you'll hear or see for the next week or two is their sheep following along and copying everything they said or did to great annoyance. I will say I'm on the fence regarding the whole twitch shirt situation because from what I've seen all the aforementioned content creator did was quote the dev from the QnA but then again i didn't look into their past actions and statements like you have so I'm likely missing something (im also mildly biased because i dont like the creator affected anyway). I do try myself to avoid being too negative regarding dbd (although sometimes when you're tilted its easy to point fingers) but i wish more people and creators playing this game would take this stance of acknowledging that they arent untouchable and there are rules to follow, especially for brand ambassadors. Honestly it's difficult to put into words exactly where i find myself in this whole situation, personally i see it as a grey area; as i said im on the fence. Good video though, glad you're back and look forward to more stuff in the future. P.S: would've joined in on twitter but by the time i saw the thread there was so much to read i thought it'd be easier to wait for a video to weigh in on my take.

  6. I think i rarely was that dissapointed from any Video of any CC ever before…
you are no shill or bootlicker for me, but i still can not understand some of the opinions you have in this Video…exspecially since you said the opposite to nearly anything in there at some point in the past…
I think the only 2 Videos that dissapointed me more were Montos "New Ruin isn`t that bad" Video and Rosies "Patrick is right" nonsense Video…
    Sad…
But like i said to someone else yesterday…
i have some distance on this Game now, I know it makes people crazy…I know that, because it made me crazy!
SO no bad blood, exspecially since this is your first Video ever that i do not like…
Can understand that you dont want to side with dowsey…but you complain about "you don`t want big content creators to decide for you"…but Otz is THE ULTIMATE guy like this, he is worse than Dowsey and the Entiteled Elite combined his Community forces his opinions on EVERYONE…also he and Facts, that is a far stretch…he says WAY to often "lets assume" , that you can talk about him bringing up some facts!
His expereiments prove absolutely nothing except when you are someone who makes a living out of this Game and play 12 hours per day you can become so good that no Nerfs whatsover can stop you. But Otz Videos are of absolutely NO meaning for the balance of this Game, and they FOR SURE have nothing to with any facts at all!

  7. At this Point
Ever Part of DBD is Flawed
    The Community
    CERTAIN Content Creators and Streamers
    The Game Mechanics
    The Maps
    The Balancing
    The Hackers
The Devs that are Suffering from the Oblivious Status Effect 24/7
    Perks
    Add-Ons
    Items
    RNG
    MMR
    SBMM
And theirs more than that even
And with what you said about to not just listening to your Favorite Creator, I already do that, like when Otzdarva did the “No Perks, No Add-Ons, 30 Seconds AFK” although the results stated it was not survivor sided, as he got an average of around 2 Kills a Game, I counter this because of 2 Facts
    1. Otzdarva is an EXTREMELY SKILLED Player in general and has been Playing for a very long time and basically plays it for a Job as he makes thousands of Dollars a Month, making him much better than the Average Player, and having much more time in General to Play, so this essentially makes it more of a test for higher skilled Players, than average or below.

    2. It doesn’t really account for the Players your actually against, you get paired with Random People, and have the Possibility of getting the same person you played with last game multiple times in future games Potato Legion got Otzdarva TWICE IN A ROW when Otz was playing Killer, also as everyone who have played Killer at least semi-frequently, you’ve ran into Bully SWF’s which you just have to Suffer Through, and have the odds ACTIVELY STACKED AGAINST YOU with only the Other Teams F*ck Ups really making a Difference, the Coordination that can make a difference between pulling off Hook Sabo Breakout Play, and Duel Locker Flashlight Blinding Trick, is Insane, also I don’t get why theirs THIS much dilemma, OVER A F*CKING COSMETIC, that gives you absolutely ZERO ADVANTAGES other than Showing It Off.
    If you’ve read this far
    Thank You.
Edit: This is not Directed in Disagreement OR Agreement,
Defending Someone and Attacking Someone else
    It’s just my Personal Opinion

  8. THANK YOU for finally saying what needed to be said. The DBD community sways to the tune of the figureheads who complain the loudest. The lack of critical thinking skills in this community is baffling to me.

  9. not expecting so many positive comments , I am surprised but I guess Jayallo viewers are enlightened on the path of purging.
Oh and answer to the last question DBD is way better to watch than to play yourself often times just chilling and sitting back watching wholesome streamers is better than actually playing it.
And even after sooo much time in DBD and taking alot of breaks I still prefer watching the game more than actually playing it.
For the content creators that complain about absolutely everything that bhvr does pls just move on we certainly don´t need them anyway.

  10. I don't fully agree with this , content creators are not employee , they paid the game and helped the game get A LOT of visibility , not quite the example you gave .

That said i dont fully agree with them either , they mostly exaggerate stuff to get more views and use every little detail to create more drama , that doesn't make the company less responsible for stupid decisions and for not fixing really bad problems within the game.

  11. I think you make some good points but I think there is room to criticize NFTs and I think you drew a false equivalence between NFTs and the actions of content creators. NFTs and taking a flight across the world both are indeed damaging to the environment. However, NFTs and taking flights around the world are two very different entities/actions. NFTs have no material benefit unlike the flights which people can take to see their family or simply go on vacation. And trying to shift the blame of ecological damage to individual content creators is preposterous as NFTs, industrial pollution, and corporations do far more damage than any individual can ever imagine. People who criticized NFTs did so rightly and giving behavior flak was a good thing so that they do not fall into the trap of NFTs again.

Secondly, Otz's experiment, while impressive and commendable, does not prove the game is balanced as it is methodologically flawed. I am not saying that Otz is a shill or has intentionally lowered his MMR as those accusations are preposterous. However, his data is collected by him and him alone making his data unintentionally cherry picked meaning his data would never be published in an actual scientific paper (assuming proper peer review). To fix the experiment, one would need to run the same one Otzs did himself with many cohorts probably around 100. This would give more accurate data and would help us get a better understanding of the balance of DBD. Of course what I just suggested is impossible to organize without the significant backing that many scientific experiments are given.

And third, I think you are right that the game is more balanced than it seems but I do think there is something wrong with the killer side and it has nothing to do with balance. Many content creators and players seem to erroneously fixate on balance when in reality the reason people are getting fed up with playing killer is because it is simply not as fun as the alternative. Balance does not really matter if killer is simply not fun and I think many have realized that killer is not that fun over the years. You get put under constant time pressure which stresses you out and the weight of victory rests solely on your shoulders. Every mistake is on you and any mistake could be your undoing. And the way to consistently win as killer is to play like an absolute scumbag which many feel is even less fun. The alternative, survivor, is far more palatable you are not under constant pressure as you control the pace of the match and your victory is not solely on your shoulders. This makes it a far less stressful experience. And the cherry on top is that you can play with your friends which makes any game more fun. Killer is just miserable in comparison and that is where I think much of the complaining stems from even if it is not said out loud by many.

  12. My man, you have hit the nail on the head with this one. I used to feel bad for some of these creators because you could tell they were just tired of playing the same thing all the time, but my sympathy quickly eroded when they started resorting to these grimy tactics to gain their viewers' approval to play something else. If their viewers were truly there for them, they could switch and the people would follow. Sure, they would lose some – possibly even a large majority – but if there are truly entertaining streamer to begin with, they could rebuild.

  13. The nft comparison to airplanes thing is a really bad analogy. It’s kinda like saying “oh you drive a car so you can’t say you care about the environment”. Which is silly because there’s a difference between necessity and then things like NFT. Your carbon footprint if you drove across the country is higher than if you flew. Not to mention again the issue stems from nfts being literally a joke and one sell of an nft costing the energy equivalent of the average American energy usage for a whole day or whatever. So there’s a big difference.

  14. I don't really think you put much thought into your statement at ~4:00. You're doing the same exact thing you're complaining about; complaining. You say "actual job", these are their actual jobs (Seriously, have you edited a 20 minute video? It sucks and takes dedication.) Have you had an "actual" job? Then you would understand why doing what they're doing is such freedom. They get to speak their minds and get it across a community. What do you do when you do that at your "actual" job? Fired and called a commie unionizer (You can probably tell where I'm from just for that.)
You also state at 3:00+ about how they are to represent a company; that's not their job. Looking through the requirements, all you need is to stream DBD, constant schedule and a "positive community". Nothing here says you "represent the company" as this is just a gift to CC's on the platform for added benefits.

If you watched the Q&A, then you would understand why people are bashing the developers. Just a reminder, CC's and developers are like concrete and rebar. They uphold each other and need each other to stay afloat. Developers need CC's for relevance and CC's need developers for.. well. the game they created their channel off of.

Think of it as a cargo ship for like, toys. The cargo is the updates, the ship is the developers and the crewmen are the CC's. Crewmen bring in and load the cargo in while the ship sails to its next destination. Imagine if the ship has an engine failure after unloading. They can't load any cargo on until its fixed, the crewmen can't get paid unless the ship gets its cargo shipped and if the cargo isn't delivered soon, the people won't buy the toys anymore. Another scenario would be if the crewmen just stopped working. Sure, just load the cargo by crane. But who's gonna unload the cargo? Who's gonna get the people to buy the toys? Etc etc. This example is shotty but you should get the point, they depend on each other. If one fails, the other fails.

This brings us to right now; the developers are not doing their job. i.e, the content creators will lose money over people boycotting DBD. (Like after boons or, well now, how the Head developer acted in the Q&A.) The content creators have the absolute right to poke at the developers to tell them to get their shit together and stop being stupid. Like with the DOWSEY situation, where he made a simple joke over the stupid correlation with DBD and hockey. HOWEVER, the developers have the right to remove DOWSEY's fog whisperer status and twitch shirts. However, looking at his video; that's not the issue. He's stated that he doesn't care about the shirts, but it shows how petty the developers are on how to react to criticism. Though not in a formal way, but that's not a big deal, as CC's and dev's aren't some big corporation with meetings between each other; most interaction is on twitter or in email.

But still, I.. kind of understand where you're coming from but really it just seems like you're wanting to bicker at them more than anything. I'm not going to call you a boot licker or a shill since I really could care less. But still, this video just seems to be complaining about complaining whilst complaining that complaining is bad in the overall theme.
