Not you mind gaming bubba and still getting stuck @ 1:17 I really like CoB (Circle of Botany). This feels like Overwatch cause now I gotta be healer here!
im happy deadhard got neerf thak god
New COH on its own its pretty bad (for self healing) as well as self care but combine them both with botany and desperate measures and you got yourself a very clutch self care build thats make self care very viable
typical cry baby killer mains got their way…..again
I think everyone forgets deadhard is a skill shot with a very little room for error and if you got his ping good luck, yet every killer smol brain thinks it’s just press e and win
I think the DH change was fine, I wish they would have just buffed the other Ex-perks so that they felt more incentivized, but it’s whatever – DH was only ever a problem in those select places where you had 0 counter play (i.e., the occasional pallet or DH choice). I agree about the gen kick perks, they needed some work, but the devs certainly were heavy handed; I think the reason you still see them is because nothing was done about gen progression perks, so if the survivors are gen efficient then you lose gens faster than seems feasible at times – I personally only run gen kicks perks when using other info perks like No Where To Hide or Pigs Info Perks.
It's funny, maybe I’m in the wrong about this, but I think they should’ve left the self-care aspect to the boon – personally, it fit well with Solo-Q, sure it made SWFs annoying and sometimes unbeatable if they were S tier teams, but it was necessary to make Solo-Q not feel like I am the sole survivor in a team of AI bots. Again, I wish they just made a base kit buff to killers like destroying boons permanently after the 2nd or 3rd snuff or something, but it’s whatever – nerf mentality is a thing.
This midchapter might shake things up . . . or maybe it changes nothing and only emphasizes the core problems DBD is facing right now. I guess time will tell.
I feel like the dh change was ok since they made it on being unhooked as opposed to doing the unhooking. You’re probably still going to get value out of it at least once a match and thats pretty solid, not to mention as time goes on and the perk goes down in pick rates (which it will, it’s prob still super common atm but the patch just dropped so people want to try the changes out. This is also why you’re still seeing gen kick perks despite overcharge and cob being wasted perk slots now.) Killers will get used to survivors not running it, making it easier to bait them into hitting your dh. Its the same thing that happened after DS got nerfed, Killers stopped respecting it because it fell out of the meta. Same thing will happen with dh. Honestly I dont think that this is how I would have personally changed it, but its been the best exhaustion perk in the game for like 4+ years. Let it rest lol. The other exhaustion perks in the game are all super strong and perfectly usable, and new dh means multi exhaustion builds are more feasible than ever. You could honestly run dh/lithe or dh/balanced and probably get good use of both since you wont have dh on the first chase. Overall I think this patch was solid, and given time these changes will benefit the game greatly as it nerfed a lot of lame shit on both sides.
the only damn problem i'm having so far as survivor is the damn players not healing, they just mess around not even doing gens. Like literally they unhook me and run away, don't even touch the gen and the killer is far away. SoloQ is really dumb but whatever, at least playing killer feels better lol. Not saying the update was killer sided, it's just that some survivors are dumb af and thats why it feels like they're helpless now
I think CoH will only get better as people adjust to this update. My first few games back I was confused as to why I couldn't heal myself in the boon, even I who knew of the changes forgot and reverted to the default of "go reset in boon" mentality. Perhaps some teammates forget this as well and expect you to heal yourself, either not knowing, or having a forgor moment like I did.
As a killer and survivor player, I’ve been enjoying the DH nerf. Not having to worry about DH during the first chase is great and it further incentivizes getting better at looping as survivor. In my opinion, it’s a healthy change for the game.
Deadhard was meta for 6 years it was time for it to die, it took the skill out of survivor and took good plays made by the killer and made it null and void.
Dead hard was OP, not just a mind game perk. It shows how bad survivors are, it's great lol.
When killers can't even use the ability to lunge and have to mindgame every survivor just to simply down them with an M1 attack, Dead Hard was indeed still strong. And instead of being unreservedly granted that everytime you get injured, you now have to sacrifice a hook stage to use it. So I think that's more fair. But I definitely agree on the powerful aura reading of the boons. I definitely took advantage of that as a survivor
good content as always babygirl 💜
I was telling people this about Circle of Healing on day 1. I don't know if it was intended per say, but I think its fine. Circle of Healing is stronger in certain respects sure, but ultimately its alot weaker as well as it requires two survivors for a heal and sometimes people will just not heal you and also they surprisingly often will run just outside the boon to heal you which can be kind of frustrating. So you take the good with the bad and I think it all evens out. Best thing about the rework of it though, is it finally make Dark Theory a bit more viable as a side perk when you run Circle of Healing now, which is good. Dark Theory is not exceptional, but it is a bit better now than it was before.
And keep in mind that Fearmonger completely shuts down Circle of Healing, not to mention Sprint Burst. So I don't think killers will be sweating the new Circle of Healing much as they have tools for it.
My biggest problem with this update is that it completely shook up killer side while only changing some of survivor (yes I know they were major changes but it’s still not as much as killer side got). In the time since the update released I’ve played a few hours on both sides and can honestly say on survivor side I was almost unaffected by the changes. Granted I’m nowhere near the level necessary to need to run full meta but I was still able to play pretty much exactly how I used to.
All that said, I have had to completely change up how I play my killer matches. At first I tried switching my slowdown, because I play mostly m2 killers and liked the on the go value of pain res (yes I play meta on killer), but that didn’t work out very well when I’m having survivors only having to bring CoH and then the rest of them bring gen perks, I wasn’t really able to get value out of my slowdown. I experimented with different builds and honestly had the best results bringing deadlock and maybe sloppy or gift of pain, but then only bringing chase perks. I “won” (at least 9 hooks) more games than I did with updated slowdown. I’m hoping more killer players will begin to shift how they play as well but I guess that’s something we’ll just have to wait and see about
TL;DR: This update did what the devs wanted, and has begun to shake up the meta, for killers at least. Survivor side still needs work
