The chapter IS based on the 1999 movie. The announcement trailer video description says the chapter will be based on Koji Suzuki’s original novel AND its film adaptation.
its so awesome to really see dbd become a hall of fame of horror, i love this game alot but its so unfun right now i hope they address this soon

They licensed the Novel and Film*** They need the iconography from the movie to really sell the Chapter.
I think the well is gonna be used for the Mori animation.
Similar to Hellraiser, the summoned pillar in the original movie is a finishing move
so I assume Sadako will drag the survivors into the well and then she comes back up.
Something really HUGE for me would be 1. Friday the 13th or The Last of Us! But the most possible license for the 6th Anniversary is is Jason! Jason is the killer I wanted the most since I play DbD. Though, the lawsuit is over, he‘s definitely possible now!
BTW I’m soooooo damnly excited to the rings/ringu in DbD finally. It was a license I always wanted to see in this game after I managed to watch the film „rings“.

The well doesn't necessarily indicate a new map. It's just part of Sadako's (killer) lore, her father throws her down a well and seals it and that's how she dies.
The rule of 3 – 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, 3 minutes without air. It takes a week for Sadako to slowly die from suffocation and starvation, that is why the people who view the tape die a week later. Sadako comes for them after a week.
i am really looking forward to this killer, but i hope they go for something huge for 24th chapter, like alien or jason. maybe even IT

When I was a young kid me and my friends were watching this movie. I was I think 8 or 10 years old back then. This movie scared the shit out of me I needed to go for treatment cause I was not sleeping for 2 to 3 days. My mom was so worried about me. My fear of horror started at that time. I was able to overcome it not to long ago watching new horror movies. There's a big difference between horror movie and a gore movie. Now I learned to love horror movies and I think I developed a certain tolerance on these type of movies.

What im assuming (i could be completely wrong) is that there could be Wells (or tv's) pre placed around the map and have the killer teleport between them slightly like the demogorgan.
