I disagree, I've mained sadako since she came out, and I think the main problem with this new strat is people don't know ehat the counterplay is, which is amplified by the fact that solo q and matchmaking sucks ass as it always has and even if one or two survivors screw up with their tape management, they ruin the game for everyone else. I think the new sadako is very high risk high reward but people are not doing the counter enough so to the general eye the risk does not seem high enough. But against good 4 mans she still has to keep track of multiple things at once, if multiple survivors are managing their tapes well enough.
Her skill floor is lower and people don't have a clue how to play vs her, that's why she seems so oppressive right now imo
Grab a tape early on and if your chase predrop pallets lol. But of course 90% of survivors are to stupid to understand this
Every Sadako main predicted how the rework lowered her skill floor AND skill ceiling ever since the ptb. They predicted how she would demolish noobs and struggle even more in top mmr. How her skill expression and what made her fun/rewarding to play was completely removed. We tried tell the devs but all in vain.
But we kept seeing all content creators praising the changes, I recall Scott even called it “close to greatness”.
Sad how the people who doesn’t even play Sadako were the ones that decided she had to change..

I disagree with the point that slugging is the most optimal method and hooking does not advance your goals as new Sadako. The threat of getting fully condemned and instakilled is strong enough on its own. Good survivors will hold on to tapes and closely monitor their condemned stacks, meaning if you go for the slug strat you're committing to a 40 minute long match for no good reason. If you just play for hooks but still do a standard hit and run strat that killers have been doing for years, and instead only go for condemned kills when they're favorable, you have to routes to winning: condemned kills or hook states. It is more optimal (and more time efficient) to just play for hooks on new Sadako.
DBD players are notoriously bad at adapting to new things, and I think people are just stuck thinking that Condemned Sadako means a slugging playstyle, but it's totally not necessary anymore. I've been playing a ton of Sadako lately playing with the playstyle I described above, and I've won every match in a reasonable amount of time.
Yeah, Slug Sadako still works for sure, but it's a waste of time.

The new condemned sadako is absolutely miserable to go against.
Everyone, and i mean EVERYONE is running sadako and it always ends the same. Theres no end to it and im absolutely sick of sadako.

People get mori’d so easily and sadako has such a short cooldown for her teleport. I just want different killers! Its not fun!
I've been playing DBD again since the new chapter and I can't think of a single match thus far against Sadako where I had fun as a survivor.
I agree that she needed to be looked at but I don't think this direction is all that healthy at all.
The condemn strat makes me think of release Legion. Put a survivor into mending and just follow without looking until they go down. It might not be the exact same but it definitely gives me a similar feeling.
I wholeheartly agree that more chase oriented power and focus would be the best direction.
Make it so survivors see TV auras at all times like the Jigsaw boxes
Personally, i like that she plays in a more unique way than other killers do, but i hope that she gets reworked so that she still has a unique playstyle but have it be more fun to go against

i think when people start picking up tapes condemn playstyle will be less effective and people will start playing her with condemn being a slowdown and not the main objective.
i think picking up tapes should be easier. auras of tvs at all times might be good, suddenly she will be much easier to deal with.
if she becomes a big problem making it so you keep chase when youre demanifested and survivors in chase dont get stacks when sadako tp might work
I completely agree with mostly everything. I want her to be strong still (because enough killers are weak) but it just isn’t fun for survs. My one thing about a point you made though was talking about the uneven efforts of both sides needed. Killer has and probably will ALWAYS require more effort than survs (granted that it’s an uneven game) that are relatively on the same skill level. The micro management the killers have to do to compensate for their mosty weak powers (anything other than spirit, blight, wesker, sadako, oni, artist imo) is what makes survivor appealing as you can mostly turn your brain off and mind numbingly circle ez loops. I am not saying surv is easy either. Sometimes and a lot of times killers play scummy to ensure a win or are just really good at anti loop, but my point being that survs generally have much less to think about.
My point with all of this is when a killer comes out with the roles are reversed, and thats why people are enjoying playing with her (I believe the reason above is really why people like her not how strong she is) people bring up this point, but the game has never been equal on “effort” of both sides.
Please Please Please BHVR- nerf the add-ons not the killer. I haven't been using the crazy good red and green addon combo- feels gross. People will figure out how to counter sadako, it's like she's brand new with the rework. Everything is overpowered initially, I can agree the add-ons are toxic
I wouldnt mind keeping tape in hand even if hit, still get the condemn added if she teleports. But still lose the passive accrual of condemn when holding tape.
Watched Otz’s video, and almost the first match I played it was a Sadako with the EXACT SAME perks and add ons that Otz had. I was the only one who had the counter play, and the killer never even hit me once. She got a 3k but the fact that she wasn’t even playing well but could kill 3 people by spamming teleports is ridiculous. Just as bad as for the people and buckle up
I think the biggest problem with Sadako right now is the fact you gain 2 stacks when you get hit with a tape. If the made it so that when you get hit while holding a tape everyone gains 1 stack no matter what. This would allow for more team wide slow down and would lower her crazy tunneling power right now.

We finally have a playstyle thats unique to a killer and everyone wants to cry instead of learning HOW TO COUNTER IT.
You can counter Onryo. You can't counter Nurse or Blight unless you are a comp dbd player aka a virgin.
For me, the Sadako changes are VERY refreshing because it turned her into a macro-management killer like Artist and Dredge instead of leaving her as a lackluster M1 killer with some mobility. I also love how she feels like she has two separate objectives that achieve the same goal which is something no other killer has had integrated into their kit. I love how everything feels from her mobility to her demanifestation and to how her tapes actually pose a threat now. HOWEVER the condemned build up needs to be reduced so that there's more time to get rid of the stacks, I think. TVs also should have an aura LONG before you need to pick up a tape or are at 7 stacks.
Just got one of these games and my teammates had no idea what was going on and died in the first 5 minutes. I was trying my ass of until the 3rd person died and hatch was closed, I couldn't do gens because of focusing the tapes. Absolutely miserable
I'm certain people have mentioned ideas like this before, but I love the idea of paying homage to the movies by making the survivors see hallucinations of Sadako the closer they get to fully condemned. Make it like Doc's hallucinations, but have them actively moving and phasing toward you. I bet if implemented correctly, the jump-scare potential could get nutty.
Stealth killers are not designed to chase. They are stealth killers. The issue is, gen's tend to pop super fast with stealth killers because they don't have a terror radius, so there's never any pressure to chase someone off gen's. So they are designed in a way to 'lose 4 gens' then win at 1 gen in a landslide or get absolutely stomped. And I think
thatis the issue that makes the interactions unfun, because chasing on an M1 killer on fucking quad pallet links on Borgo or new Erie is just as, if not MORE infuriating than getting Tombstoned/Condemned.Nurse – Invalidates chase mechanics. Problem killer.
Blight(with addons) – invalidates chase mechanics. Problem killer.
Myers(Tombstone) – invalidates hooks. Problem killer.
Sadako – invalidates hooks. Problem killer.
Meanwhile, Pyramid Head's torment almost never procs because smart/good players just jump to the next loop – which pallet RNG in the last month or so has been so fucking painfully Survivor sided with, L-wall pallet > Shack Window > Shack Pallet > 4 Lane > Jungle Gym > back into L-Wall pallet chains.
Non-Tombstone Myers suffers from being a weak killer under t3 and then it's barely a payoff unless you're infinite t3.
Trapper is trapper. You either fall flat or get a 4k. It's more a dice roll if the survivors are dumb than skill.
But now killers like Clown, Wraith, and Dredge now have to deal with Buckle Up/For the People and DS/PS/Plot Twist builds everywhere that punishes them for even attempting to hook or chase. So now, if I land a hit on a survivor and it HAPPENS to be the plot twist player – they use the speed boost and down themselves on a pallet. Now if I DON'T pick them up immediately they have Power Struggle; but the Buckle UP/For the People player is tea-bagging at the pallet too. So you KNOW they can go for the save if you try, and now they heal and there's a free extra 2 health states in the game.
Maybe there is a REASON killers are trying to circumvent the game in the current meta. It's because the Survivors have the tools to punish killers for trying to play the game properly.
I always thought sadako should work like doctor but instead of a beam you shoot out she shoots it out when she disapears and reapears, whether thats by tv or just demanifesting. tbh I think she would be more fun it she had some doctor elements in her, would actually give her chase potential….
