Big time DBD and D&D player here. The full trailer of the D&D chapter will be revealed on the 14th around 11am east coast when the 8th anniversary live stream starts. After the live stream, which will last roughly an hour, the chapter will go on the test server aka Public Test Build or PTB. On the PTB the mostly complete version of the content (survivor, killer, probably a new map) will be available for the community (on Steam at least) to test and give feedback on the chapter. The dev team will adjust the best they can over the next 3 weeks until the chapter goes to the live servers on June 4th.
So, for this license deal: tomorrow the developers of Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive, are hosting a live stream talking about this next update (as well as other news for the game) and also releasing a Playable Test Build for the next update.
There was a leak a while back that this was happening (which I doubted since it seemed so off the wall), but because of this, we are fairly certain Vecna is the new killer. There is also a similarity with Vecna Eve of Ruin's release and this release, as well, to add to that.
Dead by Daylight is advanced hide-and-go-seek.
I've been bouncing some ideas in my head of what would make sense for this game and a few things came to mind. For killers, you could go with iconic D&D monsters like a Mind Flayer or Beholder, or perhaps something more abstract like having the killer be the DM. Possibly throw in mimics as booby traps. The map could be a fairly standard dungeon, or perhaps something iconic like the Tomb of Horrors. The survivors could just be regular fantasy adventurers who are way in over their heads. Regardless, I'm curious to see what they come up with.
The Dead by Daylight anniversary stream is at 10:30 EST and they will be talking about the Dungeons & Dragons chapter (along with other things obviously.) A lot of leaks say it's going to be Vecna!

DbD's a game where the 4-player majority have massive control of the flow of the game, the ear of the devs, and expect the 1-player minority to do everything exactly as they demand.
So it's kind of a good fit.
Imagine they would put so much effort to make good books and expand the lore instead to try to push D&D in every other franchise. BTW Pathfinder released this year three books till now, each one with more content and lore as D&D releases in a year. Additional 1 complete adventure path and a adventure book. No P&P Player should care about D&D anymore
