Today Dead By Daylight made a statement on color blind accessibility coming to the game. They showed us examples of works in progress on what they intend to implement as options for those who experience trouble differentiating colors due to Protanopia, Deuteranopia, or Tritanopia color blindness. Let’s read all about it together.

This has been a long time coming so here’s hoping that these options work the way Dead By Daylight hopes and that they are indeed able to implement these in time for Chapter 19. Yay!

Happy New Year!

  2. I can only agree with you on the Ethan part! It's kinda sad so many ppl taking the clip as it is without thinking twice.. Seeing both sides matters!

Love you Paulie, have a great day!

  3. I'm not colorblind, but those orange scratch marks look much easier to see than the default red ones.. I would switch to it, no lie. But you know what, the scratch marks shouldn't be hard to follow in the first place lol

  4. I was watching Almo/Ethan's stream when that guy came in and he was very spammy about asking about it and Almo/Ethan answered him a few times and he just kept asking. The clip was very out of context and was a bit…skewed in its framing of the situation. I'm actually a bit disappointed in those that are mad about the clip because it's obviously about one person and Almo/Ethan was just giving the "typical" answer. It's a lose-lose situation; provide a non-answer (like he did) or say it's coming soon and then have people clip it and badger BHVR even more.

  5. I’m certainly glad that they’re adding this for the people that need it, however, it makes no sense why they couldn’t have stated that they were working on it 4 months ago (or however long) when they started it, so that they didn’t look like they were ignoring colorblind people that whole time. I don’t think that the “unwanted advantage” excuse is valid either, because the only way that it could be something game changing is if they mess it up horribly or 15 new bugs come attached to it. People have been modifying their saturation levels for years now and there has been seemingly zero backlash from the devs, so why does it take months for them to say “yeah you know what let’s just make the colors yellow-orange, slightly more pink, or a deeper red and see how it goes.” This isn’t rocket science, it’s basic accessibility, and it shouldn’t have taken years to decide to add in the first place.

  6. Color blindness is a disability. I main survivor just for the simple fact I can’t track scratch marks as killer due to my color blindness. Headphones are helpful in listening for survivors but the color blindness filter will be so beneficial in helping me get back into killer. Color blindness sufferers rejoice.

  8. I'm colorblind (strong deutan) and I have a lot of problem to follow scratch marks. The scratch marks for my colorblind type is very clear to see if i compare with the default type and I think it will make a huge difference in a match.

    Tks devs!

  9. I just came here to ask why Paulie removed his last video. I had it in my notifications. Something about "Beta release" with Old Bill in the thumbnail. When i clicked on it it said the video had been removed. 🤔
