Well I’ve had a day to marinate and read the thoughts and concerns of the community regarding the developer update Dead By Daylight posted on their official forums yesterday. This detailed what changes we will test in the PTB (Public Test Build) on Steam next week. These include the “finisher mori” feature where the last downed survivor will be automatically moried, as well as the introduction of built in unbreakable to every survivors base kit!
Here I’ll go over some of the more interesting points and concerns people have presented, such as hook placement and the ability to potentially abuse that as a team creating hook dead zones. We’ll talk about the future of the mori for licensed characters like Tombston Myers, Pyramid Head, and Sadako. And let’s talk about what a burn the mori offerings will become, with a necessary qualifier to earn the reward bloodpoints but at an uneven cost compared to much cheaper offerings found in the bloodweb.

How about they can only fully recover with it twice? Like once when they are half bled out an then one last time instead of bleeding out you get like a final chance so you get up with a few seconds of immunity if the killer is right on top of you? I think the new changes are interesting though. Guess they were onto something when they made Bills perks because this will be the second perk of his to hit as a base kit. Will we see a change to hatch game as well with a built in like 4-6 meter range as a small base kit? Making all Bills perks base kit later?

I do not agree with this update. I'm very concerned Sabo squads and bully squads are going to heavily abuse these changes. As for the moris it's a very stupid change. The current mori system if perfectly fine. Hell if they really want to make it better and incentivise using moris they should instead make it so moris award a amount of bloodpoints per survivor killed with them. Say 15k – 20k per survivor.
I can just say bhvr dont do this. Look at the concerns already.
Everything can't be in killer's favor . Hate being slugged over and over but now they have to fix camping and tunneling the 1st survivor downed
I think if they do something like this i feel [knock out] should be buffed to nerf the recover speed by alot and crawl speed like a [Iron grasp] as a example to give that sorta run around time if people are being toxic around you
Honestly all they needed was to make kindred and BBQ and chili base kit. Just put both completely exp booster perks for both. For survivor when opening chests gives you exp and for killer when hooking all four survivor for the first time gives you max bloodpoints for that match. Thoughts?

I feel like this only prevents end game slugging, like when there’s only 2 ppl left alive. But other than that, I feel like early game or at least 3person slugging is gonna be seen a lot more
I'm warming to the idea more and more, as there are a lot of killers that gain access to a sort of 'mid game collapse' that thematically suit their powers. A few quick ideas / examples:
Oni – Activating his power gives him a limited time to try and end the game in a single bout of 'fury'.
Dredge – If survivors are injured, Nightfall becomes terrifying due to hyper mobility for the ultimate hit and run attempt.
Trickster – Catching a Main Event when survivors are grouped could be the ultimate show-stopping performance.
Plague – If survivors don't manage the fountains, they could give her the auto red fountain power at a time they are all infected and can't cleanse…
Even Legion – Survivors choosing not to heal is a known tactic, but puts them into a dilemma if they are ALL injured at once, as it grants a kind of 'cold' frenzy where Legion can drop everything to try and down everybody before the first survivors picks themselves up – do you heal? do you hide? go for the unhook? etc.
I just think these moments would be the new gut drop / spine chilling moments that can occur. Dropping everything as a killer to try and end the game for as long as the power holds. The survivors being able to pick themselves up once the dust settles after a failed attempt makes it feel 'fair' to me chase these narrative / thematic moments.
Other examples are welcome by the way! 🙂

As somebody who has never cared about Mori's this makes me care even less. I'm very excited to see survivors needlessly bring Unbreakable, Exponential and whatever else. Because that's a wasted perk slot if a killer just plays like a killer and Hooks. Slugging is gen control not a win condition for most. Godspeed to the Mori stans!

Maybe they can change knockout so that the killer can pause the recovery of downed survivors similar to Rebecca's perk that pauses the hook timer
I think the 45 second unbrekable should increase the time bc if a other survior is there then they can save or bait a chase while the other gets up
I just want to point out that you can't pick yourself up until after you have been on the ground for 45 seconds. It seems everyone is leaving this part out and thinking that it takes 45 seconds to get up. So even if you run perks that recover faster you still have to wait til after the 45 seconds to get the effect of getting up.
The killers this summer really brought this on themselves. It was brutal having literally 4 games out of 5 slugging everyone for the 4K. It was like all of a sudden they realized they could do it and then they all did it all the time. It took a bit, but I'm glad the devs are trying to combat something that has fairly recently become a problem
All of these changes are bad. Please, Behaviour, leave the game alone.
It's kinda like what Dowsey said in his video, but how often do you actually slug as a killer because i know i rarely slug as a killer. And even then for killers like Oni or Michael who kinda rely on Slugging, i think the fact killer's can end the game instantly by downing all 4 survivors is a pretty strong thing. People are freaking out about the base kit unbreakable but not many people are taking into account that the fact that a survivor team can screw up so bad it can very well end the entire game instantly is pretty powerful to me personally. So i think the Unbreakable as a base kit is the right thing to do if they implement the ability to end a game without the need of hooks.
If it's truly going to be built in Unbreakable, then people fail to read the perk discrription, of Unbreakable, as it stands now.
Unbreakable gives a player the ablity to pick themself up from the dying state ONCE per trial. I doubt we will get indefinite times to pick ourself up when they change it.
If it's actually built in tier 3 No Mither, then we would get indefinite recoveries.
Not to meantion the fact, in the ptb for the Resident Evil project W, you could keep a person on a hook indefinitely, with Reassurance yet it was nerfed by the time it went live.
switch up the DS Timer from 1 Minute to 22.5 seconds and don't forget Starstruck and/or Bloodfavour, All Problems solved. I'm sorry but I don't really understand what's the point, because the discussion is basicly "now Survivors get actually value from their perks"… How dare they. It basicly hurts only Oni and Mayers and god damn camping Bubba's very hard and let's be honest, that shouldn't be a thing anyways. It hurts the most the Twins and I always wanted they delete them again out of the game, but I take this nerf under the ground, aswell. But overall I've to say, I think this change isn't necessary. I'd prefered an option to kill my self on the ground as Survivor
what about that ? Imagine killers simply picking up survivors after putting them down, instead of letting them rot on the dirt for 4 MINUTES. Sounds unusual but why not ?
Imagine calling something that's ruining the gameplay for survivors, by which I mean slugging, "a strategy"…
