  1. don't understand how this is a big deal when in the lore we read that almost every character have no confirmed sexuality so we're left to determine what sexuality they are. So I don't understand how it's a big deal if David's now gay if they never revealed his sexuality before

  2. Do we really have to put sexuality into everything? Never once did I think about what or who the survivors like sexually, that seems like a job for some online fanfiction weirdos, why would anyone even care about that?

  3. I mean being LGBTQ is just one aspect of a person, I don’t think they need a chapter for a LGBTQ survivor or killer.🤷🏽‍♂️💯 What would they name them?? Blank Blank McGayster?? Casually making David guy seems cool with me, kinda was hoping for Jonah or Nea, but whatever I guess. Doesn’t affect me, so yah, cool story bro..??😂🤣🤷🏽‍♂️😏😁💯

  4. Like the legion rework but I am not impressed with ghostface. Even with a new stalking engine I feel it is easier to break him out of stealth now. I’ll play him more to see if it was a fluke. Is it me, or is it quite obvious that the devs should disable haddonfield because it has massive killer pick up exploits???! I don’t care if it’s new and pretty! I want it to function properly. Does anybody find this weird? Also, this matchmaking adjustment hasn’t done shit for me. I started deranking a bit and timed the gens with a stopwatch. 5 gens done in 2:40, no I’m not joking. Hmm wtf is this Frank’s rant? 😂 Miss your streams but you’re good Gimms get well mate

  5. My personal opinion on the David reveal is that it doesn't matter at all. There are multiple reasons as to why it doesn't matter, number one being it's a horror game so a person's preference for a partner doesn't matter when they are trying not to get killed. Number two being that Bhvr themselves said they didn't want to assign things like this to characters that way people could make up their own canon for them. The last reason is because dbd is confirmed to be part of the multiverse, meaning that so what if they say this about David now because there's another David who isn't, side note that probably is the lore explanation of why you can have multiple of the same survivor in a game. My closing thought is, I don't care what people like as long as it doesn't break the law, this whole thing to me feels like a lazy attempt by bhvr to get some social brownie points from a community they don't actually care that much about, same as any other company that does it.

  6. I’m uncertain with how I feel regarding David’s reveal as being gay.I’m a gay man, and I feel like this is a weird decision.
Representation is always nice and welcomed, but this sort of feeds off that this is what the ideal gay image should look like. Maybe I’m looking too deep into it, who knows.

Another thing that came to mind, is that if a character was released and knowingly advertised as gay, then this could potentially impact sales. There’s going to be a few people who are complete knobs that would go out of their way to avoid the DLC simply because a character is LGBTQ+.

Then I also wondered if it would also impact sales via region. I know there are countries who ban media if it has an ounce of gay representation.

So I don’t know, I feel like it was the safe decision to make but also a lazy one. If they didn’t care about sales, and they release another lgbtq+ character in the future, then that’s great. But as of right now, just sort of feels lazy.

  7. I'll say this why should the LGBT community accept this about David it seems like an afterthought like BHVR are doing something asked of them in a lazy way instead of a clever way. The LGBT character should be someone new. Making an old character who has to my knowledge never been shown as gay all of a sudden be gay is lazy and honestly the LGBT community deserves better than a lazy retcon. If they were going to make anyone gay it should've been Trickster. Also people saying shit like we won is absolutely dumb. Like what on top of being a toxic community we are also supposed to be at war with each other.

  8. If people say something like "Shippers have considered David gay for years" that means nothing shippers will see everyone as gay or straight even if their sexuality is out right said. Shippers in my opinion are not real fans. The South Park community has one of the worst shipping community's aswell people shipping characters like Stan and Kyle, Kyle and Cartman, Kenny and Butters.

  9. Its BHVR's last ditch effort to save this dying game, pretty sad them continually not listening to the community, MMR etc let's just make a character gay for inclusiveness and try to bring in more players to this sinking ship. How about make a new character from scratch with an original story who is gay, this is just pure laziness.

  10. ima be honest i could care less about the lore of each character or dbd in general but idk why ppl are so upset about david besides most ppl going out of their way to be homophobes, im specifically talking about ppl on twitter sadly

  11. Im the same, i could care less about someones sexual orientation in a game. If they can get characters in that the lgbt community can see as representation good for them. At the end of the day i do not care that david kings gay. However i agree that this its lazy and could be borderline offensive for some people. For the lgbt community it was promised awhile ago and they went the laziest fan fic route instead of giving them a new character. Theres another way it could be offensive that i see no one talking about. What if someone already identified with david kin? Either they can relate to him on a personal level or it reminded them of someone they knew. While its most likely not a dealbreaker for people who like the character like that its still a kick to the balls to retroactively change a character. To reiterate i dont feel that way and could care less if hes gay, but no ones said this and its just as relevant. Plus imo i think they missed their chance with trickster.

  12. its so interesting that you say david "doesn't come across as gay" because to me, a big beefy man who enjoys having his shirt off/chest exposed is one of the quintessential gay tropes.
for example, look at the band The Village People (famous for the YMCA song). bunch of muscled-up hypermasculine dudes in various costumes, many of which expose their pecs

idk, i guess it just comes from different life experiences, neither opinion is wrong obviously, its just interesting to see that difference

  13. I am happy they made David gay. (I am gay just to preface) I'll never complain about representation. I love seeing a gay character also be depicted as strong and undefined by their sexuality. Also i love David

  14. Most people are happy David was chosen as opposed to a new character because a new DLC character would have come off as an attempt to make LGBTQ pay more for their representation. Having it be a free character makes it seem like it's less like a cynical, exploitative cash grab.

  15. I genuinely don't understand the ppl that call this decision lazy just cause they made an already existing character gay, like why is that lazy, and why would it make it less lazy if it was a new character?
