It’s been a hard few months for Dead by Daylight, but I don’t believe all hope to be lost. As far as I can tell, there’s still time to turn this around. Watch on to find out why!

I will say for my tweet- I don't think the game is gonna die anytime soon, it's definitely got years ahead of it. I think the people saying the game is dying are just silly, but I do think it's bleeding at an accelerated rate.
My tweet was simply me feeling disappointed by the state of the game and community, and throwing it out there hoping for change in a positive direction for the games health. I unfortunately don't think it will happen, but I'd love to be wrong.
Definitely wasn't trying to shout "GAME DEAD" because truthfully it'll take a LOT for that to happen, more than all the negative press they've gotten for sure. Overall after 5 years of playing the game, and seeing the actions of the devs after all that time, it's very difficult to believe it can turn itself around. But I'd love for it to! I want nothing but good things for DBD. Numbers will go up again, I'm sure, that's the entire point of the licensed chapters- to create these spikes in numbers and bring in new players.
However, I think the best course would be delayed chapters to polish them up for fun, interactive killers and better designs for both sides, focus on game health, bug fixes, and overall balance changes, even small. We also get… very little communication back and forth with the devs, and when we do, it's almost an insult to the community and the game rather than a healthy conversation.
DBD has so much hidden potential, and I'm hopeful it can all shine one day.
For me and a lot of people, yes, it's to late. BHVR has been sailing this rotten ship for years and the last months were the last straw. Heck, I don't even care about NFTs and the discussion surrounding it, but I do care and take issue when a company litetally and shameless lies to their consumers. Then, to agravate it, Patrick and Almo, two of the most important people on the team, seems to only respect themselves and their egos and hate their community (and then act shocked when the community hates them).
For the people that remain: good luck; for the people that left: congratulations.
Amazing video, as always ! I think the game can survive, BHVR just needs to make the right decisions. I also think they should handle criticism better, and listen to the community on some important topics. As long as they do that, this game will live on. Especially with the community it's got, and all the licences we have in the game.
The game will never completely die, some of the cross overs are very important to the history of video games, and horror culture. I think there will always be someone to play it
I just want them to replace almo as lead game designer because he can't balance the game
I think the way BHVR’s devs and their choices really are telling on multiplayer gaming now, devs tend to ignore their audience now and it’s one thing if your unable to answer all questions because of how big you fanbase is, and if that were the case, I wouldn’t care as much. But it’s a whole other thing when Devs actively chose to ignore the criticism towards their game, and it’s really telling when their biggest content creators criticize their game and actively punish them for it (Similar to the devs of call of duty). And taking away cosmetics from content creators and making fake rules for certain cosmetics that never existed in the first place, really proves the point of the devs being out of touch and avoiding criticism.
I think Call of Duty definitely has influenced a lot of companies with that they can get away with this type of behavior and still make a lot of money in the end. Same thing has happened to DbD and Mortal Kombat.
Ultimately in the end, I think these companies will have 1 of 2 things happen.
1. They drive themselves into the ground and either get bought by another company.
2. They continue to thrive and live in this abusive cycle of their game.
This is one of those games where play count isn't the end all be all. There could be 50k players in game but if 45k of those are survivors then for 5k of those survivors it is impossible to find a match as there are not enough killers which is what I bet is happening and why survivor queue times are so long. I swear both BHVR and survivors are doing everything in their power to make killers want to leave this game. DBD can die while still having tens of thousands of players.
It’s not dead but it’s dying. The search time on this game is horrendous.
They should make solo Q better by creating icons that show what the players are doing
Competition from elden ring and vhs? One is a totally different genre and the other is on life support as its servers are still down for over a week. Sure
who is "you know who"? (i just started getting back into the community of the game)
For some reason I booted this game up again but the queue times are HORRIBLE. I think lots of people have went over to Elden Ring. Destiny 2 was also my main game before I took a break and that just got it's next expansion. I wonder if even D2 had some people go back to it. There is a bunch of other games out right now too. I see numbers to continue going down.
5:17 what license did you mean?
5:20 voldemort coming to dbd confirmed?
The huge advantage VHS has over DbD is their devs attitude. The Hellbent devs have proven time and again that they are extremely passionate about their own game, that they themselves play it a lot and definitely know their stuff. So, I don't really care what kinds of issues VHS might have at the release, because with those devs none of the issues will be left without being taken seriously. Also, the devs will never ever base their patch notes off of the whiny low skill players from either side, because, surprise-surprise, they actually KNOW THEIR GAME, they know exactly what's strong and what's weak, and when someone in the discord chat would try to bullshit them, they'll be able to recognise that bullshit immediatelly and know not to care about it. This is something DbD is NEVER going to have. Not with the current BHVR staff.
i think this game is on track to die at the moment because even if the anniversary event brings iconic people to the game I don't think it will be enough. This is mainly due to sbmm and how behavior refuses to fix it and just rights it off. This shows that they don't really care for the community and that will probably lead to the downfall of dbd
I'd say let it die.
Either people boycott til the devs pull their heads out of their collective @$$ or the game dies for new competition.
I dont care which, if the game gets better and survives after losing so many players, then it's a win, if the game dies, then it's a win.
This game will die for me when I completely get all perks and p3 everyone.
I think the community thinks their opinion matters more than it does and they get mad when bhvr doesn't change everything they want. A content creator says something and then the comment section of their video or other videos are filled with the same opinion. I'm convinced they know this and do it on purpose either to get views or move people to VHS when it comes out.
Bhvr can't even showcase new content on their yt without people in the comments shitting on it or the rest of the game. It's really not that bad, I play the game a lot myself. If it really is that bad for you maybe you're not good at the game. I still lose but they are genuine losses where I was outplayed and if I were to lose more often I'd be bumped down, so how can I be mad? But people say sbmm is too much, game breaking bugs, the game is unbalanced. Why would a new player come to a game where the people who play the game just talk shit about it? Even if bhvr fixes a lot of stuff that only buys them a week of grace from the community.
I think the community should apologize to bhvr for the whole accusing them of having NFTs in the game hypetrain. They aren't obligated to tell you what they do with their earnings.
Bhvr says they used nodes for the original code. That means they didn't literally hard code everything line by line and all of these features need to be written, which they say they're working on. It takes time lol that's why people use nodes on games they don't expect to get this far. I say give them a break, most of us bought this game for $20 and people are up their ass more than competitive shooter communities in their games.
Dead by daylight didn't just die, it was murdered.
Wow I did see those 3 videos.
I loved DBD, but killer just isnt any fun, toxic survivors mixed with unfair game mechanics and perks that are still not completely fixed cough cough dead hard, for me personally the only thing that'll bring back fun to the role is if FNAF is brought in; as an avid FNAF fan since 2014 the nostalgia may be enough to overpower the misery that is playing killer in DBD
if they removed SBMM i’d play more, i’m tired of either beating less experienced players who seem to have just got the game or being beaten by players who have so much MORE experience than me.
