  1. I think it's pretty safe to assume BHVR's development cycle is unusual even compared to other similarly sized studios. The heavy emphasis on license deals and sticking to a pretty consistent DLC release schedule for years while balance and quality of life patches are infrequent and sporradic is the complete opposite of how a lot of studios operate. This is partially why the player base of Meet Your Maker fell off so dramatically after launch; they still haven't really addressed a lot of the problems people had even since the beta.

  2. You either shut down a live service game a hero, or carry on long enough to become the Actiblizzard people left for you in the first place.

Seriously, does anyone else remember the monthly live streams from Mathieu and notQueen so many years ago? Whatever happened to THAt company?

  3. Well, of course they're going to answer this way. The truth is, working as a dev, you get your priorities from someone else – PO, creative director in this case, etc. And they listen to stakeholders. People blame the devs, because it's all they know, but I work in such environment and let me tell you – devs have little to say about where the product is headed, they can do tweaks here and there, give some ideas, but the end result is decided by other people. And those other people is not the team, responsible for organizing and attending the Q&A. The Q&A real purpose is to gather a list of community high-valued features, so they can somewhat align them with stakeholders and hopefully prioritize something, hence they can't say "hey, we'll do this for sure!" or time-frame it.

  4. I completely understand their position of not wanting to give promises they can't fulfill. I get it. Completely. But if they're going to do an AMA they need to be willing to sit down and answer questions. I know a lot of questions are like "When will you fix 3 genning???" so maybe they can't answer WHEN but maybe they can go into detail about the work they've put into it so far. Show us that they are working about it. Something like "Well we've tried several things like x, y, z but for yadda yadda reasons we felt they were not good solutions. We are currently exploring other options such as a, b, c and here's why we THINK they might do better, but here are some of the challenges we're facing with these."

In order to do an AMA, you have to be willing to answer questions. They are clearly not willing to give answers though, so there's no point in doing an AMA.

  5. 2:21 small correction but i believe cross progression between steam, epic games and playstation exists now so they have at least somewhat delivered on that finally
Switch, windows store and xbox are still missing though

  6. I've pretty much stopped paying attention to BHVR's streams, Q&As, etc. because it's either just PR or it's stuff they don't do. Even their roadmaps need to be printed on toilet paper to be of use.

  7. "I should be able to learn what they're currently working on": Oh, but you did! They aren't working on anything or they would boldly announce it lmao. They announce thing that they're THINKING about doing, like not even STARTED yet. So you know that aren't doing shit if they don't even tease anything lol.

  8. They're definitely playing it way too safe. Granted, "Ask Me Anything" doesn't mean "I will answer every question accurately and clearly", but they are pushing it a bit.

Then again, perhaps they cannot discuss future changes due to policies within the company. However, AMA is going to predominantly about what will be happening, so what is the point if they know they can't answer such things?
