  1. Considering grades are pointless as they don’t communicate skill just time played during that month before reset. Cause some red ranks don’t play well while others can play like gods but I’ll keep saying SBMM should never have been placed into this game. Should just be the wild wild west of chaos and randomness hell or just have a ranked mode and non ranked mode for the sweats to compete and normal just for the fun and lols. Like it’s really simple I think

  2. Can BHVR please hire someone to proof read this shit? Learnings is something a 5-year-old writes in an essay; the word is results. Something that takes a paragraph for them, can be said in 1 line.

  3. I hate to oversimplify this whole thing…the fact they had to explain things to that detail should have been a red flag to them to scrap sbmm altogether. They really should just go back to the emblem system IMO.

  4. Mr gimms – ‘grades are useless and mean nothing’

Bhvr – ‘ok so we will remove them from the post match screen if they mean nothing’

Mr gimms – ‘hold on a second, i need to see peoples grades after the match’

Bhvr – ‘why? If they mean nothing why do you need to see them’

    Mr gimms – ‘🤷🏻‍♂️’

    Bit mixed messaging there

  5. The new player experience is honestly like freshman year in public school.

Everybody hazes you with the meta so hard and you just started.

Why do we even need this grind?
The grind isn’t that bad on survivor I’ve already gotten every perk on the survivor i main.

But the more killers you like to play the more hellish the grind is.
I haven’t completed the grind on a single killer yet and 1mil bp barely puts a dent into a single killer.

  6. Idk, i just want to be able to play clown without gens being done in 30 seconds. If their fix does that, great, doesnt sound like it though. Reserving judgement till i play it

  7. My question for BHVR is: what is the incentive for being good at this game?

No "prestige" icons/charms/cosmetics that display your skill/dedication to other players. Grade 1 is easily attainable and bp rewards are lackluster anyways. Hidden mmr so you have no idea if the game believes you're "improving". And no matter what you do, you're always "winning" half the time.

  8. I feel like the devs set up the "grades matchmaking test" to fail. Using grades is way more flawed than old emblems. There's no depip so everyone can reach grade 1 even more easily than people used to pile up at red ranks on the old system. Even worse, they did the test right at the end of the month so the pile up effect would be at it's worst. I feel like they did this just to affirm their crap escape-based matchmaking system and use bad data to support their desired conclusion.

  9. My personal experience with the tests was pretty mixed. But as a lower mmr killer I will say days 3 and 4 felt the most impactful where matches felt much better across the board and more fair. I normally don’t agree with the devs when it’s related to SBMM and MMR but it looks they really nailed this one and listened. I 100% support this change if every match from now on feels likes day 3 and 4 with the occasional sweaty match I can live with. I just don’t want to be consistently be matched with players I have no chance of winning. I just want consistency and less random if that makes since.

  10. There are a LOT of people who still think red grade has something to do with high
skill. It’s often people who’ve been playing the game for years – and they argue in end game chat who’s best, who should be in the match etc based on GRADE. 😂

  11. Hello Mr.Gims and people in the comments.
What i can tell about this tests is; they need to add more conditions to make the system more functional, changing some parameters of how people is paired sounds positive.
Most people doesn't remember at all the arguments around the old emblem/rank system, red ranks taking to long to get a match, potato teammates on many cases, how you couldn't try new killers, combinations or maps without getting stomp.
We have to wait and see, i feel there is a lot of positive features on this test.

  12. When I was a new player – I never expected the game to be catered to me. I knew I was coming in at a significant disadvantage- not knowing the maps – not knowing the mechanics – having very few perks or items – and afraid to use any items/offerings etc. I didn’t expect to be catered to by a matchmaking system. But what kept me coming back – was the fact that the game is unique – it gave me a rush and there are seriously hilarious moments during matches. Since SBMM I have seen a significant decline in hilarious moments with killers doing funny shit or survivors being little dorks – and I see a lot of SALLLLLT. From both sides.

The whimsy is gone with SBMM. Replaced by a metric fucktonne of pink Himalayan salt.

  13. The grades not mattering is a hot take, basically if they mean you played the game a lot. Behavior wants to mainly gear towards people who are seeing the grades as "this is how good I am" Rather than "This means just how much I played the game this month." Obviously they are leaning towards the players who are probably like myself a vast majority who think the grades shouldn't exist and maybe even instead of the grey circle just have the names show from now on. I think the grades to more harm then good like fake medication or the placibo effect. Where you see the grades after match and it makes you feel better you lost to this type of person because they are brown and not red. You may not fall for that logic but I would say the majority of the community falls for it and blames the grades at the end of the match and says MMR is trash. I think it would be healthy to remove it since MMR is invisible anyways, removing it would be like MMR is invisible anyways.

  14. theoretically it should make things better, but how much? My feelings were consistent of what I felt was going on. The first day and the 11-12 were variety packed. Sometimes I carried,…sometimes I got carried, and as killer…some teammates were good… some not. Close games as well. I know you cringe on day 1 but I watched your stream and others. Your games were loaded with potatoes as you said. But Tru3 had sounded like a child with a brand new game on those same particular days. All the games were close and challenging without camp/tunneling. I just felt like your games on the first day were an anomaly to what I experienced or watched. I guess we'll see

  15. When SBMM came in I stopped playing the game. I started to play for a little bit of fun here and there but would never come back to make dbd a main game. This is because they have finally done what I thought it was going to do. You now have nothing to grind for in dbd. The only thing you can grind is the tomes/rift. I don’t see satisfaction and or any progression in that.
