So, Bill survived friendly fire during "Apocalypse Now" (aka the Vietnam War).
I can only imagine that Bill’s story in the Archives will have to be about the Vietnam War, even though he looks older and is wearing more of a modern uniform. If we’re being consistent with his backstory in Left 4 Dead, then that’s the latest war he had fought in. He spent two tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged after that, so he couldn’t have fought in any other wars when he got older.

Btw Forsaken is also the name of an Esports player that played CS:GO (but he got caught cheating, and it was one of the biggest scandals in CS:GO history. I'm saying this because Left For Dead /from were Bill is coming/ is a VALVe Tittle /as well as CS:GO/. )
