On their 6th Anniversary livestream, Dead By Daylight laid out their plans for the future on how they plan to change the Memento Mori system, making it part of the game with a “Finisher Mori” on the last remaining survivor, a cutscene to a visually pleasing part of the map with the fatal interaction between killer and survivor! Does this mark the end of mercy in game or do you think killers will leave the last survivor standing to find the hatch on their own?

  1. I would prefer to just have Mori as base kit so that you could either hook them for extra points or kill them for less points but be better to watch and quicker to do

  3. Not a fan of it. I liked to take screenshots when i get mori'd and was always curious how it turns out, but if its always the same spot over and over, it'll just become boring. Takes away the fun for mori lover like me. :/

  4. I think they did this for killers(which I've come across more often) when they leave you on the ground during end game collapse and just spin while you are on the ground.

  5. People crying and moaning about this change I don't think understand that Mercy wasn't exactly the Intention of the devs. And even then, there is still a way for Mercy. Just don't down the last survivor… EZ. Also keep in mind. Killers can't be toxic and refuse to kill you when downed. And force you to wait out your bleed timer or DC anymore. It'll be a lot more tricky and or difficult for a killer to pull off that now.

  6. What will happen if you get caught from a locker while being the last survivor? You don't technically get into the dying state so the killer will may be able to carry you to the hatch

  7. Hey Paulie, you probably don’t have any information, but I figured I’d ask. Do you know when cross progression will be moving onto PlayStation/Xbox. I haven’t heard news about it in a while. My main DBD account with thousands of hours is on PS4/PS5 and I recently switched to PC. Hoping I can get all of my character progression onto my new main platform.

  8. I like the new mori system. I also think they should add a system where survivors could interrupt a mori and save a teammate. They should add in challenges or conditions that survivors would have to complete in order to interrupt mori.

  9. I don't like it as it sounds right now. Might as well always slug for the 4k as it will be automatic on the last survivor (which is not my play style). I think the current system is fair imo

  10. This one I disagree with. I've escaped soooo many times by using unbreakable when the killer downs and looks for the hatch. And also by using the wiggle build. . And yeah so no more giving someone the hatch??? Paulie I know u have some connects on the inside lol let them know how dumb this is. . .

  11. "As soon as the final living survivor STANDING is put into the dying state, the game ends." IDK, maybe this is meant to be read so it doesn't work in a slugged survivor situation?

  12. NGL I am not happy about that change. I wasn't happy about. Wasn't happy about the change they did before

    Personally I do not play alot of Killer unless there is a daily challenge or even tome challenges (honestly it doesn't help either when there is more killer challenges issued more so than Survivor challenges) and is those cases BEFORE the big change I'd bring in ebony mori, kill two of at least TWO survivors who'd want to make the game and objectives harder than what they should and usually spare the other two if they'd allow me to get done what I'd needed.

    Then after the change I'd use the Mori's basically as a character trait for those SPECIAL characters who'd likely choose mori'ing survivors over sacrificing them to the entity, I used this more so for the cenobite because honestly it's just such a badass mori.

    But now this change feels like it's taking more away from the killers and enabling more survivors just to be more toxic and rather than just execute them from the game WE as killers either have to "deal" with it or DC and pay with the ban which solves nothing….

    Sorry not sorry but I am now playing Evil Dead which is better in more ways than one compared to Evil Dead and either as the survivor or demon there is a fine balance of challenge and fun as opposed to being tea bagged, pallet stunned and Nnoyed by survivors OR plY as survivor to be tunneled or left for dead by random teammates.

  13. I dunno about this man. If I hit a survivor with a hatchet as Huntress from far away right before they get to the hatch, how's that fair?

    Hell, sometimes I enjoy LETTING the last survivor escape or such. This is…eh…

As a survivor I thought the old Mori's were fine, this one mori idea changes too many aspects IMO, you know how many times I've been last on the killers shoulder and he couldn't find a hook and I've got off and got hatch or through the gate, what if I was running boil over, now what, does my DS mean nothing now because my team all died instantly? Even the perk that self drops pallets, like that's just a few off the top of my head that will be useless if your team throws,

  15. It will make more sense for the killer to carry the last down survivor to a map designated location to activate the mori. This way the option to give the shack will be possible too.

  16. When I'm given the choice, I like to try and save the survivor that I felt was the best of the bunch until the end and then give them hatch or let them crawl out the door on their belly. If I have to slug them until I find the less worthy survivor, so be it, but I don't want the inferior survivor to get rewarded with an escape the other guy earned for them. I hate that they are introducing this mechanic that takes that decision out of my hands, Honestly the reworked Mori system is pretty fine. Some killers still abuse it by camping and tunneling, but overall any survivor on death hook should be able to be killed in any manner the killer sees fit. This new game ender is another unasked for change, that I don't really find all that welcome. Love you Paulie, thanks for all you do for the community.

  17. Moris used to be rare and surprising. But seeing the same Mori over and over will just get boring. Also, they have to let the killer decide the fate of the last survivor – automating this will remove an important social element of the game. MERCY!
