Another long awaited hood classic
EDIT: Around the 14:29 mark, an image is supposed to show the official Steam page highlighting their official use of the phrase "Analog Horror." This did not get caught during rendering and idk why it isn't appearing. For reference, the DBD wiki shows the Steam DLC tagline, featuring this inclusion: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/CHAPTER_31:_All_Things_Wicked
Damn Chowdah, you got me questioning my loyalty to not giving Bhvr anymore of my attention.
Great video! BHVR really knocked it out of the park with All things Wicked. I love watching videos about Unknown so I was super excited to a video like this in my mentions.
The clear inspiration from analog horror series like The Mandela Catalogue already sold me as soon as I saw his design. Marketing was absolutely ON POINT for this chapter.
Great video! Is your transition music from gears of war? I cant figure out what it is but it sounds so familiar!
Something really eerie about the teasers, is that when you look back at them, you realize that Behavior was pretty much giving us everything we needed to try and figure out what they are teasing, but there was never a solid answer to begin with. We were given voice lines, the animations, and the actual appearance of the killer, but there were still so many different theories as to what it was going around. Once Unknown was really revealed in the PTB, and we realized that we were pretty much all wrong pretty quickly, the true purpose of the teasers became obvious.
The Unknown will target the people who try to understand its mystery. The purpose was to make us try to define the Unknown.
Only in terms of advertisement, even understanding the lore the power is mid
Missed opportunity for a "Going out on a Limb" one liner.
FORGED IN FOG ENJOYERS RISE UP they could never make me hate u tarhos mi boy
fr forged in fog was the chapter I came into dbd to and yeah nostalgia and I'm biased but god the aesthetics of that chapter where so fucking good. I'm so sad they had to change the grimy and sickly looking color pallet of borgo because it was too sexy for scratch marks and gens and skin to be visible </3
but all things wicked is indeed Peak. my one biggest complaint is the uknowns power. mechanically I have no problem with it its powerful, fun, and not awful to face. but. we had this absolutely fantastic leadup of a killer truly straight out of your deepest nightmares, a killer that looked horribly grotesque in the best way (besides the goofy hair), the lore being that no one knows what the fuck this monstrosity is, and it's power? it shoots goop grenades. like WHAT CMON I WAS SO EXCITED FOR A DUSTURBING ASS POWER BRO I remember saying "I don't care if it's weak or strong, I just hope this killer is as scary as these teasers are making I out to be and that it's power is equally creepy". how can I take the scare factor seriously when it has a power that in no way connects to its scary ass lore and im just getting gooped to like its nickelodeon bro I wanted what we all thought legion was gonna be so bad. I REEEEEALLY want a trickery blending in with survivor type killer. I guess the thing is always still a hope, which they BETTER include done type of among us imposter situation with because that is the entire reason the thing is so scary. I just wish the uknowns power made sense and was actually scary, like dredge who actually feels cohesively scary. periodically bathes you in near complete darkness, it comes out of what is supposed to be a safe place so now nowhere is safe, it can be anywhere at any time, and more. dredge is just amazing and i don't care that its not the strongest, uknown should've been like dredge where its power actually fits and is disturbing and then it would be so perfect. I ADORE everything else about this killer so goddamn much (except that yee year ass haircut), from the design to the voice to the concept, sound design, teasers, lore, tge ARG, vibes, callbacks to other types of horror, the stories about it,. i even afore the entire damn chapter an immense amount and am very sad sable has been reduced to oooo big tiddy goth gf and bhvrs new cash cow. the music is also very fucking haunting and wonderful. the trailer too, everythibg from the leadup to the ptb was one of the modt excited times ive ever had in dbd. liTERALLY EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE DAMN POWER. such a tragedy to me, but I still immensely enjoy the uknown and I still have my imagination and fantasy I suppose </3
I can't wait to see more Unknown Vids it looks like you're having a great time as them.
I was incredibly disappointed with the killers gameplay but his design is SO good. And the marketing! OH MY GOD THE MARKETING! Legendary.
I remember seeing the animated teaser and just being straight up like 0_0 for ten minutes, unknown’s my main now since my previous main got beaten to the ground by the devs
Proof that DBD can make horror themed chapters. I just hope they don’t pull a Dredge where they make an amazing horror themed chapter just to ignore horror for a long time.
I loved this video, I genuinely love the unknown😭
Coolest concept meh execution he just looks goofy I hate his voice and hag with gun ain't scary
I don't know if it's true but if it is, the fact that they let go the woman who was behind the majority – if not all of this chapter's promotion – is so sad. All Things Wicked was and is truly their best work in YEARS.
I hope they gave unknown a more ubiquitous weapon instead of an axe ,axe has become to mainstream in horror genre ,should have been a saw … it kinda contradicts its vibe , unknown is like so non threatening that u dont realise it until youre the victim his purpose is to 'hurt u', not just scare you away , that comes out of your personal instinct . Also why did they choose pink as the colour of the projectile, and its animation while it lands, like its a cartoon gas bomb , black or maybe green would have been better.
I wished the unknown was more stealth based, they absolutely killed with his teasers and character design
I heard 14 Years After E-Day in the first section and I IMMEDIATELY subscribed. Gears is such a classic!
This is why I main unknown its hits the horror atmosphere very danm well and he's fun with gameplay too but very frustrating to play which is why I made a video of my personal QOL changes unknown needs to be less frustrating.
Honestly I love playing Unknown with builds that are 50/50 stealth and chase. Two perks to get the jump on survivors and two perks to be deadlier in chase always make for a scary killer and I think that's the most fun a match can be for both sides.
Unknown is just such a good killer for this game, and I think my only considerable gripe is that it doesn't naturally have stealth in its kit, unless you count teleporting with hidden hallucinations.
What makes me a good Unknown?
If I were a bad Unknown I wouldn’t be sitting here, discussing with you now would I!?
