Let’s talk about the best part of Dead by Daylight in 2022! A lot has happened this past year and it’s been pretty much a mixed bag, but one thing has stood out as being the best thing about the year…

Well Im glad someone enjoyed this year!
Unfortunately this was the year that broke the camels back for me. Balancing came too late. The lore and hope of cosmetics for my main characters was all that kept me playing, and after the Jeff and Clown stuff was kept on mobile, the devs continued giving lore to anyone but the older characters, and basically powercrept Jeff and tried to market handsome new silverhaired guy, I just couldn't stay. I waited so long for James Sunderland and spent my money for nothing too..
Doesn't help so many better games came out last year, and even if the anniversary brings an awesome crossover chapter with tons of lore, a new Fire Emblem is literally coming out in 3 weeks and is vastly more interesting to me + has more interesting story and lore elements surrounding it being an anniversary title.. Man :c
Events were cool, unfortunately, I didn't get much from Twisted Maskerade (barely got the masks) because I had to work so much, and Halloween was bugged for me. I couldn't progress in one Challenge, so I didn't get all the outfits there. (And I hate the challenges that you have to complete in one trial. I just hate them.)
Bonechill was cool, even though most survs didn't want to play snowman with me 🙁 (At least I got all outfits this time.)
This was a very cozy video, it's always lovely and refreshing to hear someone talk about things they like about the hobby we all share. Completely agree, they knocked the events out of the park this year and I looked forward to each of 'em
We may have all not had the best year, bit at least DbD had a real good one.
I agree 20000% w Tome 11 being PEAK
While I do love the snowman improvements for the Killer side, I feel like the Survivor side has no reason to use them anymore. Sure, a full health state is no small issue, but it was a bit entertaining when a group of snowmen slowly waddled over to get protection hits. Let's hope the next bone chill strikes a good balance.
this year did have waaaayyyyyy more pros than cons, but i do wish the snowmen made survivors silent the same as they do to killers as an added stealth mechanic, would've made for some funny plays
“This is the most boring meta in the game”
“This is the most balanced meta in the game SO far!”
I honestly really hated the haunted by daylight event enough drop the game til it was done. 1/12 cosmetics being good enough to even consider running and an actively bad event gameplay made it deeply unpleasant to play
The new years was excellent though. A secondary activity without interacting with– read: messing up– the core loop
There's only 2 gripes:
1. Twins got more bugs which crop up and make them unplayable. But……is this a 2022 specific issue? Not really.
2. The 'new Legacy' reward is an absolute joke.
But everything else this year has been overwhelmingly positive. The Hag got new music, Wesker is inoffensive, the Knight is one of the most original killers to date, Sadako is the spiritual successor to Old Freddy (that's a good thing for me, I loved Old Freddy), and my baby boi the Dredge was born!! Unlike Pyramidhead where I grabbed 300 cakes and I still have 20 of them 2 years later, I grabbed 550 Flans for Dredge and I've already burned through 350 of them! Gosh dang it I love the Dredge, especially his Masquerade cosmetic. So fricking fancy. The guy has TWO free cosmetics and both are bangers!! I'm going to get this guy to P100 and I'm pretty sure he's the only killer who will get to that point.
4:30 This is when I clicked on that like without thinking.
Little disappointed bone chill only had a tome this year. I also don’t like the “limited time” cosmetics. Overall events have definitely stepped up from “oooh look, different gens, hooks and fire barrels!”. I hope this year we can chose the cosmetics we earn rather than them being random incase people want a cosmetics for their specific character right away
Now make a worst failure for the year, while this year overall has definitely been a positive. By far the worst aspect this year was maps and map design. No new map for Sadako, the garden of joy and rpd rework being frankly awful. The only ok map to come this year was the Borgo which had pallet bugs on it which has caused it to go under maintenance
I'm so sad I got into this game after the Masquerade event, I love some of the killer masks and I'm sad they can't be gotten anymore. At least the halloween and christmas stuff has been really fun! And yes, the Snowman Dredge skin is incredible… I'm stunned they gave it away for free.
Bone Chill event my beloved. They shouldve made a mini snowman for victor to hide in
This dude is so biased with the twins
Thank you for this. This video is a breath of fresh air after Otz’s surprisingly cynical vid recently
I don't know if it was intentional or not considering how Dredge's costume doesn't have the same measurements as its default skin but, I'd say it does a slightly better job at protraying that aspect you talked about in your video; of how Dredge could have moved more awkwardly to show that the body parts are just puppets to the darkness of the body. This particularly is more prominent thanks to the snowman head and how weirdly it moves in the lobby animation.
its funny that so many chapters this year were so mediocre at best that the biggest W was a event that still gets complained about a ton
Roots of Dread and Forged in Fog were my top favorite 2022 Chapters. Sadako Rising (or Ringu 2) was kinda an honorable mention fave because I watched the original film to get to know the chapter.
I came back to DBD to get that snowman skin for the dredge. Made my year.
Great video but i dont know how anyone likes roots of dread more than project W, but to each their own i guess
I got into the game around the start of Twisted Masquerade. These events have been really fun! The unstable rifts in Haunted by Daylight were genuinely a fun side objective for me. I’m a little more ambivalent toward Bone Chill. I had been playing a lot of Ghost Face and Wraith to get their Tome 13 challenges done, so I didn’t need to use a snowman for stealth. And I hardly ever used snowmen as a survivor either. Snowman Dredge and Nutcrack David are amazing outfits though! Buuuut it also sucks that the Halloween and Winter outfits leave the store once the season is over.
13:12 was this on twitter i remember hearing that all the new outfits for bone chill 2022 was voted on but never found were you could vote or see the other things we could have gotten
I do like a lot of the events this year, but their are a few nitpicks I'd like them to change with future events or to make some of the more "minor" events better.
for starters, the winter event: I'd like next year to not lock every cosmetic that is not part of a full skin set to be locked into the tome. I think this was mainly due to every non-license character already having a sweater, but it kinda sucks waiting an entire week or 2 just to start the challenges for the 1 outfit your character got. The Dredge and David skins being apart of the tome is fine, but i think the sweaters, deathslinger, and huntress weapons should have been taken out.
Otherwise it's the "Double Daily" events and the "Double shards" events. The double dailies are inherently worse than every other mini-event we could get due to us only getting 1 daily a day, this in-turn just results in players hoarding the dailies they DO get done for a future chapter to prestige those characters faster.
The Double Shards event is GREAT for more casual players, but for players such as myself and most content creators, it's useless after the rift has been out for a month. We've already completed it. I've been vouching for a "forever rift tier" that every 10 rift shards gained beyond the skins, you earn 100k BP to spend. I think the only reason this hasn't been implemented is due to BHVR fearing people maxing out characters.
However, now that they're are (at the time of this video) 6,400 prestiges to earn, I think BHVR might be more willing to implement this.
Otherwise yeah, the events have been great this year, and as far as I'm aware 2022 has had the most events ever in DBD's history. So I'm hoping BHVR keeps it up for 2023 ^>^
This year helped refuel my love for the ringu series lol especially sadako she’s my first tier 20 killer
I'm sorry,Events? The only good event this year was the lunar one.
The anniversary was forgettable, the Halloween got overcomplicated for no reason and they SLAUGHTERED the winter event.
Sorry, this is genuinely an L video for me.
Bone Chill makes me winter-pilled and a Christmascel
This was a lovely video. Refreshing the brain and reminding of the both fond and terrible memories we had to go with the game. A lovely time. Reminds me of the many times I rage and laughed while playing Wesker, Trickster and Oni as always.
I didn’t play this game until I got my ps5 last September bc my ps4 would overheat just sitting at the menu, and yeah I main Wesker and never wanna play anyone else
I enjoyed all the events. (And tbh plague's gumball machine is hilarious) The only annoying part of The events this year was Twisted masquerade getting Extremely competitive because of the Flans.
Dbd is still a great party game, and I think they should embrace that side of the game a lot more. The only complaint I can give to dbd is that they seemingly can’t decide if their game should be competition viable or not and it’s hurting the game.
lotta W this year, and the start of this one seems also pretty good with the changes announced in the PTB.
also did survivors really complain about not getting a free healthstate and cancelling some killers' powers?
with the dead space remake coming, are you planning on making a dead space in dead by daylight video?
Honestly the main problem i had with the Bone Chill event is just that, it seemed like no one participated? Like, everyone was in full competitive sweat mode
2022 was a win for me cuz of the free Halloween Kate skin 🙂
They've been popping off with cosmetics recently
