  1. Dude, the game haves a lot of terrible systematic designs. The maps are terrible, like the person who's in charge doesn't even play DBD and just thinks "I want to make a pwetty map" with the most horrendous buildings for killers to deal with, it's brain dead easy for Survivors to play on like the Garden of Pain. Why tf are there even Offerings that let's the players choose what map to play on? It doesn't make sense how killers have to play the same terrible maps because survivors need their comfy maps to win which makes new killers not being able to learn the other maps that we can play on or vice versa. What's the point of making a bunch of maps if people choose the same ones? Can we also talk about how fast people can gen rush? Why is there even tools with OP add-ons to rush a map? I used it before as a survivor and it's stupid how easy it is to do a gen. This is why people complain about "tunneling" because M1 killers have to pressure players in order to take control of the gen rush situation. This isn't a damn FPS or MMO game with PvP, it's not hard to balance a game like this. Can we even talk about how majority of the perks are garbage and handful of the best ones are behind a paywall? I love the characters and the concept of how the game is but the balancing is one of the worst things I've ever seen out of many games I've played throughout my life. I really wish you can talk about both sides equally instead of one.

  2. you guys are crying because they answered your questions…

meanwhile survivors didnt even get ONE question about gameplay…

(the whole point of this video is spot on tho, keep calling out bhvr for their bs)

  3. too many broken stuff exist in the game so balancing the game while still having map rng and broken addons and hitboxes its rough, i guess only if they made a rank mode with a ban system and item limitation and non map rng, then it would be fine. but they wont add those features either way.

  4. I think Spirit and Blight's add-ons should get SLIGHT nerfs but nothing too heavy.

This is actually one topic where I can kind of see why BHVR is unwilling to really touch these two characters' add-ons.

If a Blight or Spirit is new to the Killer (aka doesn't know how to Rush properly or cannot track Survivors well while phasing), these add-ons aren't going to do much for them.

On the other hand, experienced Blights and Spirits are going to get immense value out of their rarest add-ons.

Here's the thing though. The difference between a skilled Spirit using yellow-add ons and a skilled Spirit using MDR is the difference between a 15 second chase and a 7 second chase. You are going down quickly either way and the seconds saved in between are rarely enough to really change much about the outcome of the game.
I presume that is what BHVR is looking at here.
Pinky finger clown vs Regular clown produce DRASTICALLY different results, for example, but Alchemist Ring Blight vs Regular Blight does not.

Additionally, both Blight and Spirit have strong basekit powers as the 2nd and 3rd strongest Killers in the game respectively. But unlike the #1 (Nurse), their base power in itself is not game breaking to warrant a change.
However, their strong basekit is going to make any add-on that slightly buffs that basekit look OP.
And that's what their add-ons are. Their add-ons serve to improve the effectiveness of an already strong power, which makes the add-ons seem stronger than they actually are.

Personally, I'd prefer it if more Killers had add-ons that were like Blight and Spirit in that the add-ons focus on improving the Killer's basekit ability as opposed to adding on a billion status effects to Survivors. If I had to nerf MDR or Alchemist Ring then I'd make it so MDR only gives 25% speed while Alchemist Ring requires Blight to actually put a Survivor in the dying state.
    But nothing more than that.

Lastly, I feel like BHVR's priority should not be looking at nerfing strong Killers but rather buffing their weaker Killers to encourage more variety in Killer usage.

I also say this because I'm worried, with BHVR's history, that they'll nerf Blight down to being the next Billy and bring Spirit back to her PTB days.

  5. Honestly I feel Blights addons are way more problemlic than M&D ring. Hardly any Blight's most powerful addons have no draw backs what so ever. I do think M&D ring could use a nerf but nothing huge since it does have a neg side to the addon and not everyone has a really good headset to hear a pin drop. I know I dont since I have issues sometimes telling which way a person is heading just by thier sound and I have over a 1000 hours.

  6. my suggestion to mdr for years was to make it 25% and not be bugged (idk if it still increases speed a lot more than it should, maybe they fixed it by now). It's just too much value even for an iri, and the second best is 10% now.

It would be like the 15% and 10% addons in 1 but with a downside.

  7. I think its clear from recent balance changes that data is a massive part of their design. The changes proposed to hillbilly's engravings the other chapter demonstrate this perfectly for me, I find it very hard to believe that anyone who regularly plays dbd or especially hillbilly would ever propose just gutting engravings like that, but from a data perspective it makes perfect sense – engravings are overused, so they must be strong, so nerf them to give other addons room to breathe. Ask any experienced player why engravings are used astronomically more than any other addon and you will get the same simple answer that they feel necessary and he's not very fun to play without them. I think dbd's balance and design will at minimum be stunted, and possibly even continue to suffer unless the developers start playing the game.

  8. I think you pretty much answered why they don't nerf Mother-Daughter Ring in this video. They aren't balancing for the top players. I'm betting the data shows that people in general aren't performing insanely well with this addon, because most players aren't very good. I'd imagine having a good enough audio setup to pinpoint survivor locations based on sound is highly unusual. I certainly can't do it with my setup. I still perform better with Mother-Daughter Ring just because how strong it is, but I usually pair it with the addon to reveal people as I pass through them, so I'm not performing at nearly the same level as a strong Spirit player will.

Peace out

  10. Game is so heavily survivor sided, any nerf to killers is just absolute bs. Survivors need nerfed. It not hard to understand that putting time and effort into a killer means you deserve to get rewarded for the time you put in

  11. I think that the devs being blindsided by the simplicity of statistics and seeing the usage rate of mother daughter ring being middling in comparison to the rest of her add ons being fairly similar think it's fine. Also the devs just do not even want to balance the game in a meaningful way, just one which they seem to enjoy at the time.

  13. Bro like why is it that every time there is anything viable for killer from strat build or add on it gets fucking cried about, like why don't we hear nearly enough about broken survs perks, or cancer playstyle it stays and not to mention ALL MAPS THAT ARE RECENTLY OUT ARE SURV SIDED , no one cries about it that much

  14. Okay but everyone seems to forget Spirit literally has a killer instinct addon that completely removes her counterplay entirely while also being paired with this addon.

  15. For Blight, to me, they have two options:

    Option 1: Gut his addons.
Option 2: Remove all the mechanics that enable all his techs and keep the addons.

His base kit with the techs is good enough without the addons, so take one of them away to balance him.

  16. None of them are ok. Luckily I’m working on a mod that rebalances perks, add ons and items. Hopefully I can use this to showcase to the developers much better design ideas.

  17. MDT or Mother Daughter Ring, Compound 33, Blight Tag, Alchemist Ring, Purple Amulet and AV or Adrenaline Vile are add-ons that are either bugged and di something better than the designated add-on such as Recharge while others are extremely oppresive with little to no downside with HUGE combination strengths with other add-ons and perks.

(E.g. Iridescent Blight Tag and Alchemist Ring with Lethal Purser, Distressing and Infectious Fright….. Compound 33 and AV for insta break on pallets, slowdown and 7 rushes with a hugh flick degrees…. or Mother Daughter Ring and Purple Amulet for massive duration, speed and recovery making Spirit very hard to counter.

In the end, most of us can agree that Spirit and Blight have some of the strongest add-ons in the game that are next to impossible to counter against mid to high tier players
