  1. I know right, but dead hard perk effect now suitable with the perk description and David lore literally let you take extra beating instead of dashing forward. and for me personally I think dead hard is okay, the killer can counter a good dead hard user, and bad dead hard user will E into the wall it takes skills to press E in my opinion.

  2. I didn't see a problem with Dead Hard, plenty of ways to counter it and the community seemed to do it. I don't like how most of these perks are gonna force you to mend. I doubt they'll stop tunneling since if you're hit yea you gain alittle distance, but the killer will just catch up and chase you down. If you're in the mend state, then if even you run the killer you're still just dead after X amount of time.

I suppose it should be interesting to say the least.

  3. Honestly I’m new to playing dead by daylight but it’s already hard trying to play as a survivor with randoms, I feel like the game is meant for the killers to win and it’s kind of annoying

  4. a bit biased because i play killer but i like it because it will take more skill to pull off than press e to avoid death at any time provided you dont dead hard into a wall, now it will take skill to pull off and arguably it might actually be better sure you dont get distance and only a minor speed boost but you can activate dead hard and turn now, you just have to be good at predicting when the killer is going to actually take a swing and isnt just trying to bait you into using it early.

  5. The changes are yet another cynical attempt on Behaviour's part to just nickel and dime the community. I called that they were getting basically rid of teachables back then, and community members picked up their shields to defend their liege. Lo and behold, they are getting rid of teachables as they are, now you have to P-1 for them, AND getting rid of grind reduction perks. As much as they claim grind is going down, it's going overall up.

Oh geez, I wonder if Zarina, one of the least sold characters in the game will ever be bought. Looks at new Off The Record Oh yup, yup. Like this shit shouldn't even work, and they do it without even a hint of subtleness. If you play solo survivor Behaviour has four words for you: "Fuck you for playing." This whole problem could have been sorted by buffing killers specifically against SWF clicky squads, but instead we get this. Well, I grinded for a hundred hours for my meta perks, DBD. I do not want to grind again and pay again for different meta perks. Might as well get my last wins in and say my goodbyes.

  6. I am devastated about some of the perk changes! mostly because I've been playing since launch and I am so used to the perks as they are and feel like some of them really don't need the change .
I am hopeful that the new perks will be better in-game than they sound on paper.

  7. How is this a Dead Hard nerf exactly? You can still Dead Hard for distance, beause you gain endurance for one second. This second you can use to gain distance. One second is more than you might think and you'll be able to make just as much distance as before, if not even more (that rhymed) and if the Killer happens to hit you, while your DH is active, you'll make even more distance (you just have to mend but no one is doing that mid-chase anyway). Killers will still have to wait behind the survivor and wait after they've used DH, nothing will change. Players who use it, will have to learn how the new DH works but once they've got that figured out, they can use it in the exact same way as before. Dead Hard has now officially become a third healthstate. It will stay one of the strongest perks, it will still be used every game and it will still be meta defining. The devs made sure to rework it in such a manner, that it can still be used for the same purposes as before.

Being unable to Dead Hard for distance is just obvious bullshit. Of course you can Dead Hard for distance if you have the Endurance effect for one whole second. What are you supposed to do during that time? Just stand still and look the Killer deep in the eyes? No, of course you keep running and the Killer will be unable and unwilling to hit you, because they know that if they do, you gain even more distance on them.

Dead Hard will be just fine, it is far from being dead.

I like to compare the Dead Hard rework with the Ruin nerf. Ruin got it's numbers halfed and deactivates automatically after the first survivor dies. It activates at a point, where Ruin becomes most useful and on top of that it's still a Hex Perk so it can even be deactivated prior to this. Call of Brine is now a way better option I think. Still 200% regression speed, can not be deactivated by any means but you'll have to kick it yourself. Killers now have to decide whether continue to use Ruin, which will have very limited value or start using Call of Brine, which lasts the entire match, but you have to kick the gens yourself. To me the answer is obvious.
Now take Dead Hard. You can still use it for distance (one second invulnerability), you can still use it to dodge hit, you can still do mindgames where you pretend to have Dead Hard and provoke specific behaviour from the Killer and Killers still have to wait behind the survivor until Dead Hard was used and one extra second on top, you can definetely get to a pallet in that time.

DbD is based on Slasher-/Horrormovies. Imagine if Michael Myers had to wait before stabbing some teen in the Halloween movies, because they have an ability, so deeply ingrained in the meta, that you have to treat everyone like they have it. Myers didn't have to wait behind his prey, he just killed them. Waiting behind a survivor before Killers are allowed to hit them, is a very stupid mechanic. You can even make plays were you run at the Killer and exploit their poor FOV because DH can save you. Ever seen a Horrormovie, where running at the Killer was a good idea? Yeah, me neither.

Dead Hard will stay just as strong as before the "nerf"/rework. You'll just have to learn how to use the new version of it. The Dead Hard changes will change nothing about the game's mechanics, it will still be uncounterable in many situations and Killers will still have to wait behind the survivors. It will still dominate and form the meta, this is as sure as death.

I'm pretty sure that Naymeti knows that the Dead Hard changes will not change anything, he undertands the game very well and he doesn't seem like the stupid type but the title is still rather provocative. It's more clickbait than an interesting title to be honest.

Killer meta will probably shift a bit in some points (for example Ruin is now barely worth taking and Pop Goes The Weasel was nerfed pretty hard too and Corrupt Intervention isn't as viable now.) Killer meta is gen regression, at this time, but if the most popular perks for gen regression are nerfed, then the meta is bound to shift a little. I think we are going to see a lot more Call of Brine + Pop Goes The Weasel combinations or a new Killer meta will develop entirely, which I find highly highly highly unlikely.

Survivor meta will stay. We'll see a little less DS and BT, because DS doesn't work in the end game anymore and 5 seconds of BT is now base-kit. The popularity of Iron Will will surely drop a bit, but it will stay a very popular perk, especially in combination with Ace Visconti. When the changes go live, many people will experiment with the new perks but this will cease after a few weeks. Everything will stay the same way in the survivor meta.

Furthermore, I think it's very likely that the trend of Killerplayers stopping to play Killer will continue. The base-kit changes for Killers (and survivors for that matter too) are good and important but not enough if almost all of the most popular Killer perks are heavily nerfed in the process, while survivor perks are only slightly nerfed or not nerfed at all, just changed a little.
This update is simply too little, too late. This is how you kill a game. I don't want ridiculously long queues as survivor and I don't want to constantly be annoyed by survivor perks when I play Killer, because some of them promote utterly stupid and unfun game mechanics.
If this continues, then the game's life is in serious jeopardy. Especially if DbD gets competitors. For long it was the only game in it's niche but now competitors do exist and there will be more. DbD needs to earn people's time so that they won't abandon DbD and start playing their competitors (like VHS for example) and this isn't how you do this.
It reminds me of Lego, who fucked themselves over with their bad business practices. The quality of their products declined steadily, while prices rose. Competing products and companies grew and took a lot of Lego's customers away, because they offer a wider variety of themes and products, their products are objectively of higher quality and their prices are lower. Lego tried to sue these companies and sue the people, who sold, imported or promoted the products of their competitors, knowing very well that they (Lego) will lose, which made people hate the company Lego. Lego didn't listen to their customers and fans and as a result of that, lost out on huge profit margins.
The same can and will happen to DbD if they don't listen to their playerbase and fail to make a balanced game with fun mechanics. Because having to wait behind a survivor for multiple seconds when playing Killer isn't fun. Add the rest of the unfun mechanics, toxic behaviour and stress, then nerf the perks that helped Killers deal with all this and people will not want to play your game anymore, because they are not having fun. It isn't like as this is only my personal opinion. Many Killers have stopped playing the game or switched to survivor, this is a fact. Without Killers, there is no game. The game can't continue like this forever or it will die. It doesn't even have to be unbalanced neccessarily, one side just has to feel like it's unbalanced, one side just has to feel like they're getting treated unfairly. Looking at this update, I can't say that I could blame Killermains for feeling this way.

I like this game, I'm having fun playing survivor and I'd like to have fun playing Killer again. I don't want this game to die but the second a good alternative gets released, I will probably switch in hopes that it's better than the current state of DbD. I just don't see where the devs are going with this. You have Killers not wanting to play your game anymore, then you change some perks and do it in such a manner, that the trend will start going and then you expect the game to be okay all of a sudden? I hope they have some hidden masterplan behind all this, because it won't go on like this forever

  8. I wonder if you get this a lot, but what icon pack do you use for your icons? It's probably the best one I've seen so far (as in simplistic.) I would love to know where to find it!

  9. i honestly fail to see how was dh op in any way. most survivor perks used to be built around the idea of giving the player a "second chance". like… that is essential for the game! killers can have a lot of room to mess up and still get 4k with the use of either perks, tactics, skill and a combination of these, but a survivor messing up just once could cause them to lose the entire game. and im not complaninig about change, definitely go ahead and nerf some things, but just dont make perks literally useless. a 1 second endurance effect on dh sounds nice and all, like "oh now you need skill to time it right, ha!", but we all know in reality it working or not is going to solely depend on the killers ping. sure, reduce the stun duration of ds, i always found it a bit unfair tbh, but why was it needed to make it completely unusable after the gates have been powered? so more people are encouraged to camp? why did iron will need a change? who was it bothering? im usually never salty about anything, especially if its only an upcoming change, but right now really disappointed.

  10. They literally nerfed every perk I use and it took me a long time to adjust to it…like I get what they are going for but it just doesn’t make sense the game was well balanced and they wanted to tweak it a bit they should have added or remove stuff that wouldn’t drastically change the perks even the killer perks they were good. On top of that idk if it’s just me but I feel like they maybe overpowering tunneling and camping in some way. Idk tbh I’m not happy about certain changes but I’ll still give it a go
