  1. There's a game called Smite where Netflix has also granted the Licensing to the developers HiRez Studios. Interestingly, I've heard nothing about the revoking of the license there, so it must be something between behavior and Netflix.

  2. This really sucks. I've been watching DBD content for almost 4 years now hoping that one day I'll get to play it once I save enough for a pc. Stranger Things is one of my favourite franchises and I LOVE the Demogorgon as a killer in the game. Now I'll never get to actually play it, and that kind of leaves a hole in my heart.

  3. It’s very likely this is because Netflix had an opt out in the licensing deal or chose not to renew. These crossovers are mainly marketing deals for the licensors like Netflix or resident evil and are useful as long as they’re not directly competing. I think for properties like resident evil or sikent hill DBD isn’t direct competition, you’re more likely to buy silent hill games if you’re exposed to the characters in DBD. This could be a signal Netflix is closer to launching their gaming platform. Stranger things is one of their crown jewel properties and they likely want exclusive access to using it in games. Whether that’s more lucrative for them or not, only time will tell.

  4. its gonna be weird to not have them in the game anymore. as for hawkins, yeah i wont 100% miss it, though I do play a lot of stealth killers (ghostie, pig, myers etc) and even when not on those killers it was probs the most bearable indoor map, so i am kinda sad to see it go now that we're left with indoor maps like the game and RCPD.

  5. From Netflix's point of view the decision is just kind of pointless. I don't really see a reason why they would deliberatley remove a great marketing support for Stranger Things. Dbd probably did bring at least some people to the actual series. I understand the argument that Netflix might want to create their own game with Stranger Things' characters, but what does it really have to do with dbd? I can't believe someone actually thought "they ain't gonna play our game, cause Demo already is in dbd". That logic makes no sense from marketing perspective, since Netflix would only lose money in the end. Apparently the only sensible thing in my opinion is that someone else bought the license and, much like Camp Nou in PES for example, included in the contract that they would be the only licenseholders. Stranger Things did a collabo with Smite (a MOBA game) earlier this year, maybe that has something to do with that.

  6. I’m sad they’re removing Hawkin’s ngl
I’m even more sad… more pissed off that they’re changing the perk Icons honestly. I understand why, I just hope that if you have the DLC, it keeps the perk icons the same, but I doubt that.

  7. Perks should be given to everyone.
They should make a different design of essentially the same killer, maybe a werewolf design that digs through tunnels underground or some shit.

  8. Imagine 6-8 months after demo is removed, some new guy joins the game and is minding his own business working on a gen when out of nowhere some monstrosity just crawls out of the ground and leaps at them while roaring like a dying animal xD they will shit themselves and won’t know what is happening.
