Let’s talk about Jonah Vasquez, the Killer- wait, I mean Survivor – who got a new story in Tome 12: Discordance. Jonah’s base story is widely considered one of the worst in the game: does his new Tome story surpass this criminally low bar?

Will you be covering the blight's tome next?
Spoilers for Jonah's tome cutscene below:
I'm just curious on how his story is gonna lead to him encountering the Trapper.

Jonah after bombing innocent civilians: "…Well…THAT just happened 😳"
Honestly i wish they would just make jonah a shitty person
No because you could've just made a clip of saying "no" and I would've accepted it 😂 Thanks for all the amazing videos
god tier thumbnail, this'll be a good one
While it definitely wasn't intentional, having Jonah be awful at being a spy and mostly just being a guy whos good at math flavors his perks really well. Both Overcome and Boon: Exponentiation only get value after you have messed up the more action-y part of the trials, as they only proc after you messed up looping and get hit or downed, flavoring him as someone who is prone to making mistakes in these parts. But corrective action shows what he is good at. When it comes to the part of the trial that requires more finesse and technical knowledge (repairing gens) he shines in it and is able to help other people with it. I feel like his lore could have taken an approach at him being bad at being a action movie protagonist in order to characterize him better while still being a serious story.
I actually liked Jonah before this lore back then he wasn't a completely inept at his job something thats the whole point of his struggles because of what he had to do. back then he had conflict and a reason to be grabbed by the entity, and now he's just a low-end paper pusher trying to be James bond essentially..I'm one of the few Jonah mains and it sucks he got screwed horribly by going from a cia die hard with a conscious to a American version of Johnny English without the competency. they had a chance to fix him instead they made him a joke
This great quote from shall Kong sums up Jonah Vasquez “It's official, you SUCK”
Is blight next?
Honestly I see Jonah instantly getting a tome as being an admission from bhvr that he sold terribly and it’s a last ditch effort to break even on him.
Despite all this I still love Jonah
Jonah bond 🙂
Thirty second
I really don’t like Jonah anymore. I loved him in his first few months. But his lore does not make him a good guy.
I really just main him because he looks the most like me
As someone who uses fax machines, your comment about the writing is accurate and makes perfect sense to me 😀
I don’t care about Jonah so much that I can’t even really watch this video lol. Love your other work, but he’s so lack luster.

They shouldve Made mikaela the main focus this tome. am i the only one?
ok nice vid but did anyone see 2 jeff’s in one match, am i dreaming?
Now all I can think about is Jonah telling the other survivors that he's a CIA agent, and they learn over time how utterly bad at his job he is
you can tell the people writing this one were really struggling to get into Jonah's head to make him a sympathetic, well defined character. they were uninspired by Jonah and honestly, I don't blame them lol
Despite all of this
I still want to like Jonah
I've always read Jonah as a Math Savant who got public attention for his skills that got him a one of a kind job over that he took without second thought and then quickly found how nasty it actually was once he was in too deep. And him trying to fight back against it goes absolutely horrible because he truly never understood what he was in for. And the tone deafness of what he was supposed to be contrasting is like,,, really unfortunate bad writing that they tried to fix with this but couldn't find the tone to do so juggling all the issues they created.
Are we ever gonna get a Leatherface video? If I'm not mistaken our second favorite chainsaw boy is the only killer not to have a talk. Is he just too shallow in game?
Jonah is such a funny survivor now I love this tome
That flashbang save tho
I love your videos shitting on Jonah, i am chilean and still mad that he is packaged with Carmina
Jonah's lore sucks but i like his face so a Jonah main I will remain
Holy cow, whoever wrote this… I sincerely hope that he/she/them will not get their hands on Caleb, Carmina, Danny or the rest of the Legion… well, I guess, anyone for that matter.
Personally for me I just think people misunderstand Jonah as a character, Jonah is not supposed to be a super agent never has the lore implied this.
Jonah is a simple man going against something so completely unimaginable, which is why he struggles with the code in his base lore. Even though it should be simple to solve for Jonah he can’t. As the true nature of the code is so far beyond anything he could’ve imagined. He’s like an ant looking at the maw of a massive-horrible dragon. He’s completely overwhelmed even though he means well
I mean, to me he's an autistic cop with a terrible fashion sense and one decent perk; intensely forgettable and the tie-in to his related killer is lukewarm at best.
I've never read his lore, I just play him cause he looks like Darkside Phyl and that s funny to me.
I’ll be honest, watching this video now makes me interested in playing Jonah. The thought of a poorly written guy who’s supposed to be this cool codebreaker/CIA dude but just kinda fumbles like he’s a wile-e coyote knockoff makes me adore him. Especially since I always use flashbangs, which with how often I mess those up they should be his teachable
I mean what's the bigger joke here? The fact that Jonah's lore literally makes him even worse than originally expected, or actually taking the time to overanalyze these times and character lore like an English teacher. This lore being written for a game that clearly does not focus on telling a proper and cohesive story doesn't exactly lead people to believe such. The people on the actual gameplay development team don't seem all too competent at times, much less the "story" writers. Why are we surprised that there's bad writing?
