Every Original Killer Design Ranked Worst to Best (Dead by Daylight Killer Tier List)

Read more Dead by Daylight ➜ https://deadbydaylight.mgn.tv

Hey everyone, today we’re going to be ranking all of the designs of the original Dead by Daylight killers. For this list we’re going to be considering visual design, sound design, and other factors like how their design links into their lore and backstory. We won’t be including the licensed characters into this, as Behaviour didn’t create them, so I think it’s much fairer to rank all of the characters who Behaviour created against each other, rather than placing them up against other licenses and design teams. It’s also worthwhile mentioning that honestly all of the killers in the game are designed very well, in fact the arts or visual part of the game has always been one of the strongest parts. This is just me ranking my favourites. To do this we’ll put them into one of four tiers. The first is Generic design, the lowest tier, then Inspired design, Great design, and finally, Near perfect design. Let’s get into it.

We received our first teaser for the next chapter recently, and it looks like it’s going to be a Hellraiser one! Let’s wait and see.

  1. Me, a curious bean: Sure I'll click on it and see the teir list

Proceeds too have their favourite killer's designs marked as "basic": …yeah man…

I mean most of the "Basic" character designs are far from bad. Like I personally love hillbilly's, Legion's, and Gunslinger's designs. Legion I think is mostly Slipknot inspired, and back in the 90's Rebellion and Metal were like two pea's in a pod. I love their leather hoodies and jackets, and I just like the grungey yet daunting masks they wear. They or or less just look amazing in my opinion and really give you that mosh pit 90s rebel teen vibe. (Would kill for some slipknot skins though)

The hillbilly, Muah, I do know that it's supposed to be based on Bubba, but I honestly like his sounds, his disfigured face (inoccent yet mournful), his lanky body, it more or less fits perfectly with his story of being a child shut out for most of his life, and only used as a machine for slaughter. For his lanky legs to his buff arms, and ragged clothes. I personally would never change billy's design.

For desthslinger, I think his design is more iconic then bland, its like a combination of all cowboy antagonists merged into one horrid being. That's the vibe I get when I see Mr. Quinn. You can just look at him and tell, "shit this guy is a bad guy." By just looking at his appearance. Perfection in my opinion.

  2. i just wish rin's base outfit wasnt a literal bandage bikini. this is a victim of a terrible crime, a literal corpse and she's wearing next to nothing :/ it makes me uncomfortable especially bc she's so young

  3. At first I honestly thought Slinger will come out 1st. It's not my favorite killer, but his design is probably the most unique. True, his looks are "generic" for a cowboy, but probably the best thing about his design is how Bhvr managed to mix the western vibe with a horror setting. Obviously, it's just my opinion, but he definitely isn't generic.

  4. I'm surprised you didn't thrown in Ghostface, since everything about him is original besides the actual mask itself. I know you said no licensed killers, but I feel like he's an exception since his lore, behavior, and costume design is original. Either way great list me boyo.

  5. I never really liked Wraith's default costume because it largely ignored his backstory. The 🚗 wrecking yard themed costume BHVR made later on is the one I use & consider what should have been canon from the start.

  6. Slinger has a shatter/broken jaw shown in the chains of hate trailer and has a limp from a botched surgery and doesn't use a lasso to catch his bounties instead using a speargun and is reserved and enjoys the pain of the survivors and chuckles when he does his mori

  7. I think Anna is one of the best designs for a killer, her tantrums when she gets blinded or stunned is just amazing for her character. Plus on one Halloween I made a cosplay for her and wore it and some people though I was cute😶 and others thought I was terrifying, my mom though she was a boy at first because she’s Russian😂 They did a great job for her

  8. I don't know if I agree that Spirit is the best designed killer, I mean she isn't super original. Spirit is sort of a generic Japanese ghost. I mean Spirit is designed well, but since she is kind of generic I probably wouldn't have her at number 1. I personally think Deathslinger is a better and more original designed killer :/

  9. I would rank Deathslinger a bit higher just because of his face, there is a bullet wound from when he got shot in a gun fight, I think it adds a lot of personality and their is a animation that shows him adjusting his jaw. Pretty neat Behaviour.

  10. Maybe if clown wasn’t just a gross data’s he’d be somewhat scary lol. A lot of people are afraid of clowns and his obese design makes him not scary at all even to those people lol.

  11. i disagree with Trickster ONLY BECAUSE. I think he deserves to be higher. Trickster's design adds a lot to his character and lore, because he looks so human! He isn't a scary looking person, if we ignore the blood and his slit-mouthed grin, and that's part of what makes him scary. all the other characters are these very scary looking killers, they're almost all terrifying, masked killers or supernatural monsters. but the Trickster isnt like that! he's just a human who is capable of incredible horror and evil. serial killers in the world aren't going to be scary, masked monsters, theyre going to be people that look like Trickster; normal, maybe even attractive, human beings. that plus the accuracy and care BHVR took to make him really LOOK like a kpop idol makes him one of the best designed characters.

plus, his scariness comes from hes just. creepy looking. especially his wink in the lobby, when he looks directly back at the player and seems to almost acknowledge us

  12. Blight reminds me of that one video that supposedly these dudes run into a witch at night in the middle east where it chases them while they are in a car backing up keeping the headlights on it.
