  1. For the record, I am a main survivor and I've always hated Toolboxes, I really do think they should just be for saboing, and maybe have a very minor buff to gen speed, and ofc compleatly erase BNP or rework them compleatly to do a whole different thing. As for the killer side, maybe Penti should have the gen regression moved to the 2nd stack and healing to the first one. The rest of the perks, I think they did a good job balancing them already imo.

  2. i dont think killers full gen defence builds are broken. most of the gen defence perks require something from killer to get value, would it be to hook survivor on scourge hook, or to kick a gen in certain amount of time after hook and etc. this is why full gen rush builds are broken and full gen defense builds are strong at best, but far from broken, gen rush builds simply dont have as many requierments as killers full defence builds. killer needs to be very lucky to get full value from full gen defence build, while gen rush builds require you to simply sit on gen and hit space on great skill checks to get full value from it (sometimes you dont even need to hit great skill checks, thanks to some perks). we also need to remember that most of the gen defence perks are getting nerfed with every patch, but gen rush perks either dont have any changes, or getting buffed.

  3. Killer main here, most killer main I speak to know how frustrating it is when your first hook is at 2-3 gens remaining, and yes first loop 60-70 seconds is the bar for survivors being decent unless you're caught in an open space/ doing a no perk run/ facing a nurse, blight, spirit or chucky, at that point, the only way for most killers to secure a decent chance of winning is, you know it, camping and tunnelling, trying to get double downs, especially for killers with low mobility. But BVHR stated, increasing gen timer is bad for the casual solo queuers, so my idea is to double gen timers and add a "gen boosting" reward mechanism, if a survivor goes down within 30 seconds of first chase/ killers are near a hooked/slugged survivor while not engaging in a chase/ when a survivor has been hooked the second time/reach second hook stage/ when a killer has kicked the same gen 4/8/12 times/ when the match has gone on for 5 minutes/ every time a survivor is eliminated, every survivor gets a stackable 15% increase in gen speed, up to a total of 150%

  4. and there is only 1 way to make gen rush builds more balanced, as well all killers perks that are slowing down effectivness of gen repair speed, make the effects not stackable. you only getting the strongest effect from perks, but they are not working together, so you cant combine deja vu, resilience and quick gambit to get insane gen speed with tool box, but you also cant stack pentimento, dying light and dracula`s new hex perk to make survivor make gen repair speed insanly slow.

  5. Ive been saying if they nerf gen regression perks but buff basekit killer regression that’d be way better, like bring Pop down to an extra 5% on a kick but make a normal kick 20%, that way kicks feel better, and then nerf toolboxes and exhaustion perks, cuz honestly idt gen speed boost perks are the issue, perks like Sprint Burst and Lithe are just extending chase way to much

  6. I happen to disagree. Less consistency makes it more interesting. Sure there will always be meta perks and items to use but the fact is, it's all a matter of how people want to play. For instance, I have 4 builds I really enjoying using as survivor, one of which is a gen rush build. This is a high risk high reward kind of build cause if the killer happens to not find me right away then ya I'm ganna crank out gens fast. But if they do find me welll, I'm not running any perks to help me last in chase, and I don't care how good you are in chase, as survivor just one small mistake is all the killer needs to get you.

  7. Hypothetically what if every single generator perk and item with "generator" or "repair" were just removed from the game? both sides, could be an interesting trial gamemode to see how different the game feels.

  8. at what value do you think a survivor perk equip a gen perk? let's use Deja vu as standard. it gives 6% repair constantly. if you have 4 perks that are all like deja vu. they give 6% repair speed. all of them shave 6 second off a gen. this amount to 24 seconds of gen-time loss. you can expect large variance of gen time because of 4 perk slots.

it is same with killer. let's say every killer perk is pain res. it adds 60% gen regression on average. if killer equip 4 perks, you can expect 240% generator regression. the game has high variance on everything because every perk can be stacked. BVHR has often been asked to create perk classes such that same effects cannot be stacked but BVHR has denied this many times.

This means that BVHR INTENTIONALLY wants perks to be stacked and similar type effects to create large extremes in gameplay. Whether this is healthy or not is subjective to the player. in practice though, BVHR never makes perks equally as good so lots of the extremes in the game either unlikely to happen or simply cannot happen.

  9. No offense. But we don't need to fix it. We had a balanced game in the past and DBD IS JUST NOT FUN BALANCED. Dbd is FAR more entertaining when you have no idea what kind of game you're getting into. That's why Behavior lately is just flat out buffing the perks with no regard. Because we tried balanced DBD and it was boring.

  10. Correlation is key 🗝️🔐
    1. The faster gen speeds are, the more likely Killers will bring more gen slow down.
    2. The slower gens are, the less likely Killers are going to bring gen slow down.

I'm only here to drop my observation. Not solutions. I'll leave that to the experts.

  11. It honestly feels not even remotely fun to have all the gens done by the five minute mark Either side. Survivors aren’t challenged and killers feel cheated after only getting a few chases.

Killers bring more slowdown so survivors bring speed gen builds until unless both sides are pushed for trying anything else
