  1. I noticed something about the anniversary logo, the 6 looks allot like a hand mostly like when you the shhh position with your hand so maybe the killer has something to do with being silent.

  2. I'm personally not a big Funko Pop guy I prefer figures that look more like the characters over stylized ones. But I would collect pops of DBD. Thats really just down to their not being figures of the characters for this game. Neca would be a great company to make figures based on DBD as they have already made a lot of the Licensed characters from this game into figures

  3. Hey Mr Gimms, conspiracy theory. The change to the way updates happen was also about making it easier to hide future content. If each update is now broken into smaller pieces to only patch what's relevant (which speeds up updates), it also means it's easier to add future updates shortly after a chapter reveal.

  4. I hear too many people these days complaining about H.P. Lovecraft being a "known racist".
I can't see BHVR promoting his work considering the direction they've been going.

  6. Mr Gimms! I'm kinda excited about this anniversary and it's been a while since I've gotten excited about anything DBD related. In all honesty I don't know what the funka pops is? 😱 I'll have to do some research and read about that. Yes! I've been living under a rock 🙊

  7. as sombody that realy enjoys hp lovecrafts work im vary sad i did not think of this threory but i have my own idea of what specific lovecraftian entity while yes a god like entity i realy think that a great fit. its a called neolepatath and is pretty much from my research the only god in the kuthlu mythos that has a vary clear evil mentality that seeks it's thrill's by bringing those into madness and or betrayal. it's most common ability is that of shapeshifting and causing nightmeres to the point of unrest.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r1l2vaR_Ag this link does a better job at exsplaining this cosmic force it has some opions of them and speculation

  8. It would be neat if BHVR teamed up with Red Hook Studios (another Canadian studio) and made a Darkest Dungeon chapter for a Lovecraft type thing. Great map and power possibilities (stress mechanic with various afflictions) with the ancestor and they could get Wayne June to narrate the match as things happen. I think it would be great.

  9. I absolutely LOVE lovecraft but the because his creatures are horrifiying due to beeing undescribable and incomprehensible for human minds means that no matter how well designed the killer would be it wouldn't do the original proper justice. The same issues count for most games that try to implement a straight up creature / elder god from the call of cthulhu.

  10. I’m sorry – but the extreme optimism and over the top boisterousness about the Funkopops is so ostentatiously out there that it’s nigh unto sarcasm. And this is coming from an American… and you know we’re considered annoyingly loud and all that… it seems like the fog whisperers are contractually obligated to be WOOOO girls or something.

Also, I take SSRIs so may be my “couldn’t give a fuck” meds talking.

  11. Honestly though, does nobody in bhvr have a realistic perception of time? In my eyes, "funkos soon" means 2-2 and a half months down the line tops. One would assume that most of the work is done by the time they announce it, and then if something goes south one would expect an announcement like "sorry but due to legal/undisclosed/whatever reasons funkos might be cancelled/take longer than expected, please stay tuned for more information!" fr how hard is it to do that?

  12. "These guys have been known to fool us before" makes them seem better than they are. They just take advantage of already extant rabid fanbases and pointedly don't deny things – they don't need to imply anything with how Candyman/FNAF/Chucky people froth at the mouth for even unrelated clues.

  13. BHVR would have to be extremely careful with this. Dbd has an extremely prominent LGBTQIA+ community and adding anything related to HP Lovecraft would be hard due to his history. I know when Smite added Cthulhu that alone caused alot of drama. It'd be hard is all without major backfire.

  14. I've only made it through the beginning so far of this video, but having an H.P. Lovecraft monster would make sense. Lovecraft has made a sub-genre of cosmic horror through his stories, the unknown. The Entity has a similar feeling to that when we go down to the nitty-gritty of things. But at the same time, they can't pick a monster that would overpower the Entity. Characters such as Pyramid Head and Pinhead are there as a mutual agreement, Micheal is there cause why not, Freddy was forced to be nerfed, and other killers were manipulated. Let's see what they have in store.

  15. Since DBD is very Lovecraftian, I would love to see the killer simply be The Entity incarnate. And maybe playing as 'it'- is a massive game changer compared to all the other killers.
Part of me just wants something narratively jampacked – since the gameplay is getting VERY tedious.

Also think Lovecraft has definitely found some popularity lately, compared to like 5 years ago. We had Lovecraft play a BIG role in Black Ops zombies, and also Lovecraft Country on HBOmax from 2020.
