  1. I understand why Hatch is pretty healthy for the game, but to me it still feels like, man. It sucks that they get a free escape when I had to work to get my W. But I understand its healthy enough to merit it staying.

Edit: Especially when they T-Bag at it and wait for you to approach before escaping, just to be toxic. Also all the times Survivors complain that you didnt give them hatch, it makes them entitled to have it.

  2. The people who are upset with hatch should rework their thoughts about a win, if you 3k but the last guy had to escape through hatch because there was no way to get gens done, then you should treat that like you 4k'd.

You won, there is no way for a survivor to escape without the hatch. I guess they should just roll over and die, or beg for mercy to feed your ego.

  3. I remember one time I played Nemesis and I paid no attention to the items in the lobby. Survivors behaved very weirdly and I couldn't figure out why. One gen to go, I get to kill one of them and then they all escaped through the hatch the very next second. It felt so cheap and frustrating, so much that I remember that match a year later. Old hatch was cringe and new players don't know how good they have it.

  4. I would have said before more that keys were a "free escape" after being nerfed once, but I think once the 2nd nerd came around (that made opening the hatch require a m1 action) it doesnt feel so free anymore. At least when there was no animation to opening, survivors could still theoretically jump into the hatch right in front of a killer like before.

Even then though… imagine people saying current day hatch is a free escape when back in the old days, you could get like 3 escapes at 2 gens or something for the cost of one key. Essentially cutting the game's time in half.

  5. I've been playing ever since the game first released. Hatch in my opinion is super balanced now. Even with a key it doesn't instantly open like it used to. I can see some killers being mad because sometimes survivors will stand ontop of hatch until the killer finds them so that the killer has to watch the survivor escape. But other than that I see no issue with the way hatch currently is. Devs should just leave that part of the game alone.

  6. I played tons of Killer and I have never been mad about hatch since they patched keys. Did we all forget hatch offerings and 3 man escapes at Killer Shack from a single key?

  7. Wait who the heck is saying hatch is op!? In mobile we still have the hatch the old way so it spawns after 3 gens or like 6 hooks. Its garbage and they can just open it. PC hatch is honestly fine in fact I am super surprised this is the topic in the community. Thank you for bringing this up its bizzar.

  8. I don’t like hatch mechanic, specially when a specific surv get the chance to have it, or they play offerings to ensure the spawn or map offerings… I understand it have to stay by with map offerings I slug until I found the 4 survs

  9. I think hatch is just a part of DBD, I couldn't picture a timeline where DBD didn't have hatch.

All in all, I don't care, I don't think it's good or bad, it's just neutral. If they keep it, cool; if they don't, they should make it automatically go to exit gate 1v1s, that's where the real fun lies.

  10. My last hatch escape recently definitely wasn’t a free escape. I strategically stood on top of the Ormond balcony and noticed it in the distance with Doc camping below me. I baited running around to break LOS then ran back and dropped, balanced landing proc’d and Doc whiffed giving me a chance to make it to hatch and escape. It was a satisfying outplay.

  11. Yeah as someone who use to HATE hatch. hatch now is a very fun mechanic. You know what one of my only memories from first playing dbd was. Escaping while getting chased as the last survivor. Those are the things that make people keep playing this game.

  12. Honestly I really miss the times were you could search the hatch with your other remaining teammate together at the end :c
A mechanic for cool moments died just for the sake of entitled Killers who absolutely needed to kill everyone to be satisfied.
