They’re adding custom lobby AI survivor bots to Dead By Daylight soon. I played against them with a lot of different Killers – and the results were pretty interesting!

  1. Funny enough I’ve had some weird bot matches. I had a bot who I guess opened a chest earlier that game and had a flashlight, blinded me with it twice at different times. Another bot wiggled out of my grasp and I picked her up easily with Weskers power a couple seconds later but she immediately wiggled off, like she had DS it was so weird but other than that they were goofy

  2. If you play Wraith against bots , they will see you while you are invis , even if you are far from them , if you are in line of sight , theres a chance they will just start running.

When they play against Clown , they will try to dodge direct bottles , and if you throw your purple bottle , they wont go in it , if they are standing between your purple gas and you , thay will run in place .

If they play against Trapper , looks like they are sometimes randomly steping in traps , like they dont notice them , and sometimes they will disarme them constantly.

There are some problems with this bots but overall , I think BHVR did good job

  3. I'm looking forward to this, since I'm really out of practice with DBD. I'm also hoping for accessibility options for the hard-of-hearing, since Spine Chill have lost it's feature that people like me really needed to keep up with everyone.

  4. Someone observed that on somewhat long pallet loops, if a survivor bot drops a pallet, they will stay on the safe side of the pallet and vault it whenever you cross the midpoint, making it basically impossible to hit them on such a loop as M1 killer, you have to kick the pallet. If they didn't have this janky pro-hiding programming and they instead focused on optimal looping and objectives, they would be basically unbeatable terminators akin to competitive SWF. Which I think could be an interesting thing to have in the game as long as there were some kind of difficulty options. So that you can make bots less difficult to deal with and they would make mistakes on purpose or make decisions with a delay to simulate real players.

  5. In the same developer update where they announced these bots, they did say they're going to add the ability to choose their loadouts (although not every item and perk will be available).

  6. I think the edge of the map issue regarding bots was listed as a bug on the forums, since apparently it is not intended for bots to do that. I think it might be fixed when this goes to live or possibly a few patches after it does live, as per usual.

  7. Bummer about Pyramid Head M2s. My first try with him went surprisingly bad for me as I found aiming it rather difficult. Was hoping I could try on bots instead… oh well.

I wonder how they fare against Victor LOL

Edit; oh you covered that a bit. Still curious about long shots.

  8. I've been asking for this for 6 years!!
I've been playing long before cosmetics was even a thing. So naturally I'm very good at survivor, I want to now play killer but I know all too well how survivors can be, so I avoided killer until the bots came in to I can properly train how to play as them.

  9. it would definitely be great if you could equip the AI with perks and items – practicing against a super sweaty group of bots would probably help killers learn how to deal with SWFs better etc; if the bots are programmed by an engineer and not machine learning it's probably possible (?).

  10. this video needs more likes, this is exactly what I needed to hear before checking the new build out! I haven’t been playing DBD much for that reason (that and I don’t have a lot of friends that play the game and solo queue is hell) but I may pick it up to use the bot feature to refresh!

  11. I actually really appreciate a streamer, especially John, for doing a full analysis on this new feature. I did like when streamers used the bot feature, but for someone to do a full take on it was really helpful. Keep up the great work, John!

  12. John, you really need to step up your ‘billy game. I played two games tonight as hillbilly and I got 4k both games. The feeling of having my tinkerer perk proc, I rev my chainsaw and arc my chainsaw run across the map and insta-down the survivors. It’s certainly a better feeling than staring at pyramid-head’s calves all day

  13. Before I clicked I thought this would be a video of John as killer playing a couple matches against bots (like when he was trying out the Knight at first with the bots that kept teabagging lmao), but I was pleasantly surprised that it was an analysis instead! Kudos to John for putting in so much research on the bots and giving us the summary (with clips!), very interesting to hear how they respond to different killers and the blind spots they seem to have (John getting to stomp with Scratched Mirror Myers…. yes….. YESSSS!).

Like John said, I really, really hope they do end up adding the bots as replacements for DC'd players like they do in mobile, it would be SO nice all around. Even at current bot "intelligence," it would be a definite improvement for the match experience. Pleeeeeease, BHVR! All I want for Christmas is DC bots! :<

  14. They need to work better with nemisis and pinheads power

They need to be a little less T baggy it works to their demise

They need to go to the edges less

They need to more urgently get in hooks

    And be less stealth focused

Edit: wraiths stealth is completely ignored by bots

And they need equitable perks and items/add ons

    Go for pallet saves (sometimes)

And difficulty setting would be nice
Target practice: very easy don’t prioritize gens

Simple: basic looping basicly act like they do now

Medium: better game sense and go for unsafe hooks if needed

Hard: difficult, loop almost perfectly great game sense

    Just some ideas

  15. I am hoping they eventually incorporate the bots into live matches. Turn DCs into bots without even notifying the players in the match until afterwards. Sure, the bots aren't perfection, but they are better than a game turning into a 3V1 10 seconds into the match.
