  1. to an extent, my biggest issue with survivor in this gamemode is literally just the fact that if two killers chase you at once there is ZERO dynamic gameplay to that whatsoever. there's really no outplaying it, and, at least personally, it's burned me out of survivor extremely quickly. On the killer side, of course, if you're chasing a really insane player and they have the dirtiest setup known to man, you're also really likely to just drop the chase or get your duo to help with it.

The dumb powers like rebuilding pallets or becoming a healing pylon are going down a really good direction, but i think there also needs to be some sort of fundamental change to the gameplay to make the 'two killers!!' thing ACTUALLY interesting in chase instead of it just being a knight chase with even less counterplay.

Survivors should have some sort of buff if theyre being chased by two killers at once for example, and it has to be seriously impactful (i'm talking like 15% haste), while killers should also be given some real incentive to separate from their duo, like much faster action speeds (which could help offset the difficulty of chasing people on some of the buffed maps) . I think if survivors who queued up for 2v8 actually LOOKED FORWARD to being chased by two killers at once because you could actually realistically juke both killers at once when you're just as quick as them, it'd make way more people interested in the gamemode from the survivor side.

  2. Try again. Myopic view of a killer main content creator. BHVR has done so well with this update to 2v8. Although killers still only have to rotate the map counterclockwise to snowball (maps should have a bit more tweaking because this pattern is old). 90% of my matches end up with 1 or 2 people hatch escaping, which probably happens at mid-tier MMR. BP is in demand and BHVR put a ceiling at 150%, which is unfortunate – please reconsider. Survivor main who would love to play killer, but won’t wait 20 to 50m in cue and it helps killer mains.

  3. 1. the 2 v 8 randomly assigns you to be survivor or killer.
    2. to join the killer que requires currency, either a blood points or a new currency you get by playing as survivor.
    3. unique survivor abilities, items, interactions that are only available in 2v8. I bet a lot of people would be drawn to the ability to use a taser, build traps, have a chance at superpowers ect…

  4. @Scott Jund they need to allow mutli-role queueing. For example, if my friend and I don't care whether we're killer or survivor, put us in a multi-queue and we'll take whatever is up first.

  5. Imagine if in Among Us you could queue as imposter, it wouldn't work. I think the best thing would be a combined "Game queue" where you are randomly assigned killer or survivor where you can opt out of killer. This means way more games are happening, so overall this would result in you getting to play killer more, just playing survivor instead of doing nothing while waiting.

  6. Injecting bots into lobbies would be an interesting addition – I wouldn't mind playing against 8 bots with my friend twice before getting into a player-manned lobby.
Having 4 Survivors and 4 bots would probably also help at times, if the bots are up to snuff.

  7. The problem is Killers find 2v8 far less stressful, doesn't matter about actual balance, the mode is just a lot more fun. Bribing survivors with shards is about the only way to get them to fill the queue withour just making the killer experience less fun instead.

  8. something that i thought of that would be fun, is the ability to queue into a KYF match, because then you could have the queue for killer in the background. other games have done this in the past with a test grounds/practice sort of mode and DBD would benefit from this.
alternatively, it could be that you could queue into pub matches and DC when you found a match. similar to overwatch in this sense

  9. I don't think that 2v8 should be a separate mode from normal play. I think they should release a killer for the standard 4v1 game who has partnering with another killer as part of their base kit. Make it so that both killers move at 4.2 m/s, but now there's two killers working together against 4 survivors. That's the entire base power.

For mmr, you can weigh it the same way that swf mmr in duos gets weighed. Each killer can choose two perks, or maybe there's a special set of builds that this killer can choose that replaces perks. No fomo because it's obvious that it's going to be permanent, and also it means that less survivors can service more killers. Right now, 8 survivors can service 2 killers. With this, 4 survivors could service 2 killers. It would fix queue times, allow 4v1 to continue to work as normal, and also make 2v8 a permanent part of the game.

The only risk I see is that this 4v2 killer might still end up with a pick rate that dwarfs other killers, which may get stale for survivors. Basically, the "ugh, it's Wesker again" effect. idk, that might just be the cost of doing business.

  10. The best part about 2V8 is just how quick and not tedious the gameplay is (in compariso to the normal DBD matches). I dont think the novelty is the issues, since unlike streamers, most people have a life and dont play this game 10 hours per day for a living.

  11. A massive concern back when overwatch introduced their priority pass system was that people would queue the role they didn’t want to play all that much and throw just to get their pass faster. If I remember correctly, they ended up making the player get like sextuple the passes if they won their game. – worth a thought if we’re introducing it to DBD.

Maybe tie a priority queue “pass”to a challenge incorporating chase time, gen progress, and heals just to make sure people don’t join just to go next as soon as they get caged.

  12. I disagree that more bloodpoints wouldn't change anything, 250% just isn't enough to significantly change anyones mind. I'd say go crazy with something ridiculous like 800% bloodpoints and 50 iridescent shards per game of survivor (you'd still need to play 180 games to unlock a 9000 killer).

More 2v8 tome challenges might also help since people are working through the rift.

Obviously a less brute-force solution would be better but this is BHVR and this could be implemented extremely easily.

  13. Another problem is people are only focusing on opening one exit gate. You have three options to leave but people will go to the absolute length to run across the map to leave when if you just wait 20 seconds you could get out the gate that’s 12 feet away.

  14. They have to increase the bp gain massively and the iri shards would be good too. If you die, it doesnt matter how well you played, you arent getting above 2000 in survival, normally below 1000 in my experience. Bring the extra bp up to something like 500% and that would fix a lot of the queue times. Anyone who needs to prestige even a single character would play survivor then

  15. Rust has it. Its called seperate servers.

It isn't a big solution but it allows to keep the mode permanently whilst also decreasing the overall impact on the main servers. It allows for bugs to run rampant at 0 consequence, it allows for taste testing, bug testing, game mode testing all while not jeapordising the standard of the main game.

Does it cost money? Yes. But it'll cost reputation, which = money if they add it permanently to the main game to remove novelty. And it'll probably overall cost money to add iridescent incentives, as they're losing out on hard to acquire content and cosmetics (i bought a few non licenced survivors in chapters so I could skip a couple hundred of hours).

And also they can add a server population cap. It'll still be frustrating, but killers are more likely to go play solo killer and survivor in comparison to "oh you can just wait in lobby for a bit". it ensures control over how much stress 2v8 has on the main game queue time

  16. Don't let this discussion distract you from the fact that 2v8 is only as fun as it is because teammates can't self unhook

Now if only we could get that for at least the first person hooked in a regular game…

  17. Imo add items before match like in normal game so ppl can take flashlights or medkits (but no toolboxes) and offerings for bp and make x2 exp on survivor side instead of 400% bp, because if you add bp offerings you can get 10 bps if everyone takes it which makes 1000% boost for every player not just survivors , make so there should be 10 gens to complete so its not too fast of a game and give 5 sec endurance after every hit so you cant be ganged by killers

  18. Getting 2v1'd as a Survivor in 2v8 is the lamest thing in the game and many killers seem to be playing exactly like that on purpose. That just kills any desire to queue up as a survivor in the game mode, since no matter how good you are, you will still get outplayed by bad killers simply because they are chasing you together.

  19. I have the solution…..make 1v4 comp I.e all survivors are solo queue give killers base kit 30 sec corrupt intervention, make 2v8 the party mode. I e you can queue up with friends in 2v8 as killer or survivor. Make a party lobby where 5 people can be in one lobby and choose only survivor or only killer or both

  20. An easy solution would be make killer SoloQ only, probably won't even be considered as its a huge part to the mode but I feel ALOT of survivor only players are queuing for killer because they can play with a friend in a casual mode but will never touch it in 1v4. This makes it harder to 1) find a game in general and 2) a soloq person to find a game even more so

I do think the survivor game-play isn't fresh enough to keep people over on that role. It's essentially a much worse version of 1v4 SoloQ for survivor. More gens to do, more survivors doing nothing, no MMR, much less variety with builds, all make for a boring experience SoloQ. I personally never touch 2v8 survivor outside of SWF as its so mind numbingly boring without friends. I really think a new game-play loop needs to be added to 2v8 for survivor to be attractive, whether its protect the president, capture the flag. I feel people are just so tired of sitting on gens and think 2v8 needs a more active role for the survivors to play.

  21. I think you underestimate the amount of people in this game that duo queue. In ANY game, duo queues are usually the most popular option. DBD has just given duo queuers another option besides duo queueing survivor. No matter how long you wait, a large number of duo queuers are going to choose duo killer over duo survivor. They no longer have to deal with 2 other randoms, and that's huge. It might get sliiiightly better with time, but truth is a large chunk of the crowd that's always been forced to play surv if they wanna play together is now out of that pool and into the second pool. That's just not something you fix. Ever.
