How Much Does a Crosshair Help Huntress? | Dead by Daylight Killer Builds

We tried Trickster already, but now we’re trying out Huntress with a crosshair to see how big of a difference it makes with and without one. It seems like it should be a big help, but I thought the same thing about Trickster so…….. let’s see?

  1. crosshair does help with very precise horizontal shots like through shack wall n can make it quicker to throw over super tight spots but it isnt an instant hit every shot free skill button like many ppl assume

  2. You kept talking about the arc and verticality being a major issue while playing Huntress with the crosshair, so why not just run the addons that increase hatchet flight speed/decrease windup time instead of what you ran those last two games? The flight speed addon gets rid of most of the verticality on charged shots which allows you to hit shots at longer range more consistently and also reduces the chance that survivors can dodge them as long as your aim is on point, which the crosshair is there to help you do.

  3. Hi Mr. Oh, I would say using a crosshair is just a preference rather than an advantage. My crosshair is just a dot and I merely use it as a guide as compared to a pinpoint. You still have to incorporate the hitboxes of the environment, the survivors, as well as both the power and arc the hatchets have at different distances/hatchet flight speeds. I learned huntress using a crosshair(as I still cant pinpoint the center of my monitor), and it helps as a guide, but my crosshair is hardly actually lined up on the survivors when I throw my hatchets (I always aim more up for the arc and a little but to the side around structures to incorporate hitboxes.

Basically what I am saying is that it will be pretty hard for you to start using a crosshair after hundreds/thousands of hours without one, which I in return find it hard not using one. People just have their preferences.

  4. You might have a better time if you lowered the crosshair's transparency and/or picked a color that wasn't so strong. The intense amount of contrast between the crosshair and the rest of dbd is what makes it hard to not focus on it

Edit: Right after typing this out, I got to the part where you said you use a different crosshair than what we see lol. My advice might still apply though

  5. Tofu if you see this the best option is to use a 3rd party image overlay programs. I find monitor based crosshairs bulky and distracting as well. I used to just put a small colored cross and turned the opacity way down. its subtle enough for good effect

  6. Tofu chasing scratch marks and simultaneously questioning if they have a shadow step nearby. 😂
As soon as I saw the coldwind offering on I knew straight away you were going to fractured cowshed. What possessed you to run that Tofu?!? 😂

  7. A crossbow crosshair might help you better since it's got notches in it designed specifically for drops in the arrow at further distances. Even better would be the M79's type of crosshair since it's drop is far steeper than an arrow. And those quickthrown hatchets look quite steep.

  8. I think it has to do with the hatchet being off center from the crosshair. Where in FPS games, specifically when ADS with iron sights, its center screen. with the hatchets, they are off center to the left while the crosshair is still center screen thus throwing you off.

  9. That’s why dots (ranged lobbing shots) are better than plus/Xes or at least for the long term since it helps you know how much you need to sum up or down without giving you a given distance up or down on the crosshairs.

Plus a dot is a lot slimmer/less distracting than an X or a +. Meaning you’ll likely eventually ignore it & get better(depending on the color).

  10. your thoughts about 'putting your crosshair on people not above them' r really interesting; i play a lot of games like TF2 where i use a lot of projectile weapons, so crosshairs on huntress feel really comfy. however, i feel like they can make me struggle more at slinger, cos i always forget to lead my shots as slinger since i expect his gun to be hitscan even more when i use a crosshair

  11. i genuinely dont notice my crosshair at all, it just becomes part of my instinct. staring at it is gonna hurt u. i'll often forget it's there after i close the game.
