I'm Quitting Dead By Daylight (Temporarily)

Maybe at some point I will come back to Dead by Daylight as my main game, but for right now, I just can’t. I hope we as a community can grow beyond just the realm of Dead by Daylight, because I know we can be more than just a video game. My recent variety streams have shown me that, and I hope you come along for the ride ♥

  1. Great video, Sloosh! Breaks are good! If not for any of the reasons you mentioned, but just for peace of mind and mental health. So many people stand with you, and trust me when I say that we're there for YOU. Not the game you play. YOU!!! So, keep being amazing!

  2. This is exactly what I said to my friends discord server, but most said that I was overreacting over the blight changes, I don’t play Blight usually, and when I do face a Blight I can tell when a hugtech happens, it’s becoming more and more stale, and it hurts, I’ve been around since Demos release and I’ve come from a Bhvr that doesn’t give a damn, and it hurts to see my main game lose almost all fun aspect because they want this game comp viable, I just really hope they get their stuff together because this game WILL die if they continue with the whole balance fest, and let’s be honest this game will never know balance, so idk why they even try. I just hope they fix this PTB, Nerf the twins back to their old self, and fix the bugs, while also reverting the Blight Changes, because I agree with you, soon enough Wesker techs, Flicks, all of that will be gone.💔

  3. I watched this whole thing and nodded the whole time. Every point agree. I don't know if its the Blood Moon Event ending but it feels so stale. Wishing you the best on your journey to finding joy and success! I was just thinking earlier about your 24 hour stream in the end of 2022. I'll never forget that stream and how happy you were and how infectious your smile was.

  4. I 100% feel you on this. Game going in a more comp mindset. Most dbd now, going for just winning only matters, win streaks and doing nothing but 1 or 2 things. Game just not the same after around 2020-2021. Been playing dbd from 2017 and still going today with 14.8K hours with the most break i did was 2 weeks lol. Just getting so cut dry now.

  5. Lmao I mean this with no disrespect but I along with many other players came to this conclusion years ago. The game was dead 😵 when they stated valuing kills over skill. Then they added the MMR and turned a party casual game into a sudo comp game without the balance. Unfortunately, BHVR value money over all and did everything in there power to milk the shit outta this game and ruin it. It’s better late than never, but I would say 30-60% of the OG players dropped this pile of garbage years ago.

  6. they need to stop picking sides and let us play the game there r way to many maps that r made to make the killer lose I just got timed out again for 13 minutes because I leave the game the map was made to let them win I am not playing that cheat map

  7. On topic: i think you’re burned out because you’re not a survivor main anymore.

Killer is way harder than being a survivor.

Burning killers is toxic and got misused Slushie..

Locker saves were rewarding bully squads. FUN for survivors.

Dbd is ruined for life, back in 2016-2019 dbd was fun. Toxicity took over, like every game after a few years.

  8. I know you mentioned not going back to TCM (totally get it), but as soon as TCM came out I dropped dbd as fast as I could. BHVR really knows how to destroy perks. Dead hard, wire tap, adrenaline, so many more. Just sucks the fun out of the game.

  9. Breaks are good. Getting burnt out is understandable cuz every game is repetitive.

The only thing i disagree with you is your opinion about the current state of the game. Plus, the my little oni event was fun and not competitive and a lot of killers needed these buffs to be viable and not be a joke in "high" mmr. Imo of course.

  10. Biggest issue dbd faces is that the skill pool is mixed at either end of the MMR so it’s almost like there ore multiple games being played, at my killer skill level (far below most “mains”) I find the game fun and rarely stressful, perks are quite random on survivors and rarely do I see a serious bully squad so it feels great to play, at higher level it’s a different bag of players. No two people have the same experience unless playing at the same level,

  11. I love Dead by Daylight, been playing the game since release on and off, and I always find myself coming back to the game because there is just no other game like it. With that being said, I 100% agree with every point you made, the game is slowly starting to feel unfun, I understand they want to balance the game, but by trying to super balance everything, the game is loosing these little moments that make the game so fun. I myself have become burnt out recently, but I know even if I stop playing it now, I'll eventually find myself playing it within a couple of months again, since sometimes you just need a break from the game.

  12. I'm only halfway through and Slushie is just spitting facts. The fun factor is going down and the competitive factor is going up. People care more about winning then having fun now. In 2021 when I first started playing (2.7k currently) everyone would try to do fun stuff like lightburning the killer or do pallet/locker saves, but now the fun stuff is being taken away. I'd honestly want to run into a hacking killer at this point, just for something different. Same killer same build or same build different killer is just so boring. Like a nemesis with 3 slow downs and 1 aura or a nurse with the same build, it's just dull now. 2024 has been a good year for DbD so far in my opinion (prior to the twins ptb). The rework in the current ptb just feels like a step back instead of forward compared to other stuff. Idk I'm rambling, I'm enjoying it to an extent, but only really with friends in a 3-4 stack. The game just isn't fun solo anymore, back when it was RANKS not GRADES AND MMR I would actively grind from rank 20 to rank 1 and have so much fun. But now anyone can get to grades version of rank 1. Removing depipping is just gonna solidify us not having ranks anymore, it's fully grades now

  13. I’ve been struggling with dbd for MONTHS now. It’s taken a toll on mental health and my enjoyment of streaming as a whole. I’m proud of you and how far you have come! I’m always lurking in chat and vibing in stream! You have became one of my most favorite streamers and I hope that you keep doing what makes you the happiest!! ❤

  14. Yeah dbd is just not fun anymore

They nerf perks that are fun to use
The gameplay cycle in the game is boring
Theres no extra game modes and there’s no new mechanics to look forward to anymore
The changes they make are hilariously bad and they don’t listen.
The matches themselves are boring because everyone plays to win and not to have fun anymore.

We need more quality of life improvements

  15. I always take breaks from DBD. Have you ever considered any of the survival games like Conan, Ark, Rust, Palworld, V Rising so on and so fourth? Or maybe games like Helldivers 2 or the Monster Hunter Series (World is the better game between World and Rise if you ask me) these games are all terribly fun and terribly addictive and in something like Monster Hunter, Conan or Rust I'll raise my hand to help you learn if you'd like to play!

  16. I’m happy for you. One of the most gaslighty things I hear when I make the same arguments is “oh your just burnt out, just take a break” – it’s like butch no. IM not burnt out, DBD has BURNT me out. Difference. The way the game is going is legit exhausting and just anti-fun. Balance IS boring.
