  1. I don’t think so. The concept is so good. There isn’t another game like it. It’s extremely replayable

Having said that, I’ve played since 2017, out in over 3000 hours, and I deleted the game at the end of 2021 when the cenobite came out. I had enough of the bad balancing, bad teammates, and bugs. Mainly the low skill ceiling just made it overdue as well

  2. Killers have been shat on repeatedly by both the survivors AND the devs.

It's time the killer collective bands together and kills the GAME by leaving for good.

Can't be dead by daylight if there's no one to kill ya.

  3. I think they should implement ranked games and quick play games , Like right now the games should ranked games u rank up or drop rank, Like right now the state of the game with every game being sweaty as a ranked game should work fine , And quick play games make the games only for farm BP or have (fun) on this quick play games just with the intention of farming BP nothing like ranking up or dropping down ur rank , and easily more ppl would use more builds instead of meta builds every single game for the rest of the year until the devs make another survivor with more broken perks , And buff, nerf perks and killers only impacting ranked games not quick play games

  4. I stop playing the game because is always the same thing new new survivor new killer I was ranked 1 as killer once and as survivor 7 times and after a time it got boring to go to rank 1 I wishes they did something different like campaign or something with the characters we have

  5. I think DBD is in a bad spot but it isn't dying anytime soon. I've been playing on and off since the beta and it's gone through moments like this countless times. Hell, when nurse was released, we were facing 15-20 minute que times on both sides.

Until the game gets a big competitor it will always have a good few thousand people sticking around, and as long as a game has more players than For Honor I consider that game living.

  6. I miss the old dbd ranking system and the running animations i liked the way you ran when injured but anyways I dont think the game will die out ever tbh

  7. I think the game's health would improve if they stopped with the competitive mindset and just focused on the fun aspect. There are videos of people tweaking the game to include 2 Killers and 8 Survivors: is it balanced? No. Are they having fun? Absolutely.

I think a new game mode isn't too much to ask for and could breathe life back into DBD because while I don't think it's going to die, it IS starting to rot.

  8. DbD isn’t gonna die for a while. It still has licenses and some household branding. It’s not gonna die.

It is however gonna lose players, it IS losing players already.
The gaslighting has its limits and when the dust settles on the whole “killer is op” and that stops being enough, people will just stop playing killer. And that’s gonna hurt.

  9. I haven't played since the pandemic tbh. I played faithfully for a couple years and while I do miss it, it's overwhelming to think I'd have so many new killers to face that I need to catch up on.

  10. I had 800 hours of DbD in like 3 months since the day it got out, now I barely play 1 or 2 matches per week, maybe three (all as killers, since playing survivor is so stupidly braindead and it's not a challenge at all) but things like Haddonfield still having two houses with those two windows, or the hooks being stupidly separated in maps like Midwich, makes me so sad, because the Devs make such a terrible job at balancing the game, like:

Why the fuck would you want killers to have a 60% winrate IF you're going to nerf them since they're doing "too good".

Why are you creating maps with loops that become infinites against certain killers? Hell, why make maps with infinites at all. And, no, I don't want to play Nurse to counter this, like, DbD was not made to be competitive, killers before had a shit ton of gameplay variability with add-ons and perks, like the Wraith, or Myers being stealthy or just a straight up killing machine, now you gotta always bring the sweatiest builds to MAYBE get a tie.

Eruption was the only reward killers would get AFTER downing a survivor, because no, just downing a survivor is not enough pressure, even less now that survivors in SoloQ can see who stops doing a gen to go for the rescue.

Of course I'd get annoyed when I wouldn't be able to repair a gen due to Incapacitated, but then you play as killer and they t-bag you, they abuse flashlight saves with lockers, they abuse infinites, and you can't get a rest or you literally lose the momentum and therefore the whole game.

I think I keep playing the game because of the memories I have with it, rather than the state it is in now.

  11. I quit 7 months now, every time I did come back to the game it was the same but new killers and perks, the core of the game kills it for me. Love horror anything but this game isn't a horror game at all, survivors want you to chase them and do whatever they want.

  12. Left dbd two years 2 years ago. I only come here to watch your yt content. The game just continuously gets balanced around casual/low level gameplay and makes the game worse for killers

  13. Started playing when Pig first came out, loved it then and stop play occasionally but since MMR my enjoyment for the game has dropped dramatically…sucks playing against SWF as killer and also sucks either getting stomped as survivor or having 5 min games of holding a button do to a gen; been branching off lately and enjoying other games

  14. I played DBD when nurse was the newest killer. I stopped because the progression turned me off. Wish I stayed so I could have legacy nurse but all well. That being said mmr will kill the game, slowly like a poison. They need to add a fucking quick play queue where mmr doesn't exist. I have said this time and time again. But people keep trying to shut me down, Identity V and DBD mobile both have a quick play unranked mode, and a ranked mode, it will NOT hurt the game as bad as people think it will. And it's not just MMR that will kill the game, it's the devs constantly saying fuck you to the community and not listening to community feedback. New gamemodes need to be in the fucking game to help freshen things up a bit. IdV has different game modes, that are available at specific times of the day, for 2 hours. It's boring, stale and uninspired anymore for DBD. The events are lazy, the game is unbalanced as fuck in favor of survivors, I don't play this game live anymore because of how unbalanced it is. New gamemodes a quick play unranked mode and a ranked mode need to be added. That way the tryhards can try hard against try hards and the casuals can just play the game.

  15. "They don't want to touch the base". The base game has changed many, many times. From window blocking to the end game collapse, BHVR has changed the core of the game many times.

  16. I used to play dbd on killer for hours and hours, but I can’t stand playing for long now. Games require me to play sweaty constantly to keep up making it very unfun. Mmr has killed it for me

  17. "Is DBD doomed this year?"
Yes, simply Yes. And I think this has been coming really ever since Twins, or at least the seed was planted. What I think was really as sign of changes for the worst was RE Project W, as it just incorporated too much of one franchise, detracting the game from what it use to represent, which was "every franchise, incorporated equally (if possible)".
Biggest factor with DBD has been replayability. But this two chapter-long gap of disappointment is enough exposure for people to see how tedious the gameplay is – and how problematic it is to keep the gameplay the way that it is. 7 years on and we've essentially been running this game the same way since the start, which wasn't much to begin with.
Sure the game has all this lore. Sure the game has all these characters. But it's utterly meaningless if it doesn't play a bigger role in the gameplay.
There's style and then there's substance. This game is padded with a lot of style (cosmetics, lore, perks) but it does nothing to change the core gameplay in anyway.
I also think that the last anniversary chapter w/ The Dredge, while it was fairly decent, ultimately didn't strike a chord with audiences the same way a license would. Which from looking at it, probably set the tone for the year as a whole. Like something small that manifests and grows into something worse.
Also with recent news of a DBD movie in the works – it just seems a bit sly to jump into into a story for the big screen, when there's not really been one for the game.
Like how can I as a player look forward to a movie, if I don't even know what the story is for the game. Because if the movie resembled the gameplay, that's going to be boring asf.
It just convinces me BHVR are doing one directionless thing after another – whilst not really earning assurance from the community that they know what they're doing.
So with them expanding the IP into other products like board games, dating sim games, movies, and funko pops (rip) – it just feels like more thought and resources are being committed to making the brand better, not the game – and I think it deserves to be the other way around.

  19. I've been playing since dbd come to ps4 and I mostly play killer but I've been playing less and less as the devs are ruining the game. How can they not understand there own game?

  20. I started playing when trickster was being released, and I stopped playing around dredge release. The game became unfun due to the bullshit community and the shit balance. Not fun to play a killer, and you can't even get a hook when people are abusing poorly designed loops, shit pallets and other BS.

  21. I've heard people saying DBD is going to die every year since 2019, and yet all the other asymmetric horror games failed to beat DBD as the most popular game of the genre.

People take this game too seriously. It's a 4v1 game, of course it's going to be imbalanced towards survivors. Devs should buff killers to make them harder to play against. But it's a casual game. No reason to take this game as serious as something like a Dota or League of Legends game.

  22. I was liking his content, subscribed, then saw this title, unsubscribed. I hate this people trying to get attention from this topic being negative all the time towards the game that gives them plays. Same goes for Spookyloops, for example.

  23. Honestly?
The one thing that's require to fully kill this game would be a decent alternative on steam.
Maybe Evil Dead will be that alternative when it finally drop.

  24. MMR destroyed this game for me. Every single game as a killer is a sweat fest. Im playing since early 2020 and had a break in 2022. I'm just recently realizing why I left this game 😂
    There is no fun anymore.

  25. Hopefully VHS will do well enough that behavior has to make some changes to their game. The dev's of VHS are pretty receptive and try to keep thing balanced for both sides. Most of the changes lately have been buffs and tweaks to the monster side. If anything dbd needs ranked and casual mode. So they can stop worrying about the entire player base just the ones that play ranked. That data would be more beneficial.

  26. The way the game is going most likely will go down greatly. Seems survivors don't realize killers are essential and continue to make games miserable, gen rushing BMing bullying. Just miserable and which is why I don't play

  27. survivors have a lack of objectives to do, its not hard to be efficient with gens at the highest level, if survivors had any other objective in between gens maybe the game would be more interesting.
