  1. Wouldn't say that last second swapping is toxic by itself but the kind of ppl that typically do it I've seen say awful things in endgame chat and tend to not be nice towards the killer, last second swapping is not a nice thing to do so it wouldn't be too crazy to assume they don't care to be nice to the killer either

  2. Kinda? last second switching is never really done because "oh wait i think it would be better to bring this into the trial" its more "gonna trick the killer and then make the killer rage this entire match because they clearly don't have feelings and deserve to be bullied for daring to play the oppossite" the act itself is not toxic, but its used by toxic indiviuals that end up making it toxic so its obivous why the stigma is their

  3. In my opinion it's just a little rude, but I wouldn't say it's toxic. Sometimes killers will dodge lobbies because a survivor is a high prestige, so it kinda makes sense to swap last second in those scenarios, and if being a high prestige is toxic than idk what to tell you lmao.

As for the flashlight swap, I never really see it as a big deal. If you don't want to deal with last second swaps from flashlight squads, then literally just leaving the match at the offering screen does nothing to damage your rank. Nothing's stopping you from doing it. I mean that's what I do if a squad last second switches, cause I'm not here to sweat, I just wanna play the game.

Also, I don't see it as a big problem because it's not like the survivors can see you're bringing Brine Overcharge Eruption with a specific killer, what they get is a complete surprise, so what's the problem with them surprising you too? Idk. That's just me though.

  4. I don't think I've ever ran into anyone who has taken last second swapping to the level of considering it a personal attack. That said, I think in most cases even people who last second swap would probably be willing to concede that it's at least a slight dick move just because there is still that level of deception in doing it.

Not that I really remember seeing much of people doing that nowadays, other than the one person off the top of my head who I remember swapping to a 100 prestige character, which in itself really doesn't bother me. It was much worse before hatch was nerfed and people still had a thing for sneaking in keys.

  5. The reason why people see it as toxic is simple: quick-swapping effectively ruins the playstyle, and possibly the build by making certain perks irrelevant (everyone having Flashlight will prompt the Killer to bring Lightborn but if everyone switches to something different last second then Lightborn just wasted 1/4th of the build). It removes agency and possible variety from the Killer (who already has to deal with several people at once) who will then, in retaliation, likely play more scummy and use less variety in the future. It's not rare to see Killers almost always running Franklin's as an insurance (and to be fair, it is a pretty good perk since depending on the rarity of the items, Survivors might lose time by trying to go back for the items).

All the tiny things that are annoying adds-up over time and create the "us vs them" mentality that a ton of players have.

  6. I agree with pretty much 100% of this video. If im bringing a toolbox or medkit, I just have it out. I only last switch to flashlights to avoid franklins cuz killers HATE flashlights despite them being a weaker item.

  7. Never realized this was even a problematic thing tbh. I do not think its toxic and unless everybody is switching last second say a swift switches last second to all flashlights or all sabbo boxes to try to bully then it might be seen as sweaty or toxic but other than that I don’t even see a last second switch as sweaty. They just playing the game and changed their mind or realized they had an objective or something. Weird that people have an issue with this.

  8. Sorry but survivors don't get to see what kind of killer they are facing beforehand inorder to adjust their playstyle/perk setup so i don't think killers are entitled get to see what items survivors are bringing it's only fair

  9. It comes down to intent again, a player last second switching isn’t toxic, but a 4man swf all last second switching into flash lights for the sole reason to make the killer have a really miserable match is toxic

  10. Dbd isn't the most toxic community. it has the most toxic content creators. Content creators who push mistrust at the developers. Act as if anything that they personally don't like is going to kill the game. Ignore other people's playstyles that differ from their own or insult other people's playstyles. Complain the game is too sweaty while having 5 million hours. We have a large part of the content community that just complains not just when there's a problem but all the time. This is the most balanced dbd has ever been. However, some will act as if nothing has changed. I have no problem with commentary channels, but anyone who thinks their own personal fun is more important than game balance shouldn't talk changes. Fun is subjective balance can be measured and observed.
