  1. To be honest, I actually think that it would be a dumb move to get rid of Bubba in DBD. With Bubba both here and in his new game, the license holders would make a ton of money. Bubba being in DBD would also advertise the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game.

  2. By removing a character from a game over licensing only weakens an IP by putting it out of sight and out of mind to its consumer base.
Merchandising is more effective if something is actually alive in pop culture, not limping from checkpoint to checkpoint.

  3. It's highly likely. Gun having Jason was the reason we didn't see Jason in DBD, then the lawsuit hijacked the possibility as a whole. Leatherface is one of my favorite killers to play, I don't play him every game, but if I am looking for a fun, chill experience where I don't have to sweat super hard I always turn to bubba. He's one of the few killers I always have fun with even if I lose. I'd hate to see him go, but it is very likely.

  4. I think it’s unlikely for bubba to actually be removed. Not impossible but unlikely. The difference with the stranger things license and the Texas chainsaw massacre license is that the company that owns bubba aren’t directly competing in the video game industry themselves, rather just giving the rights to use their IP to those who buy it. There is probably more of a focus on making the Texas chainsaw massacre franchise more popular and gain more recognition thought it’s tie ins. Netflix on the other hand is making their gaming service which will compete directly against their competitors in the video game industry. They could have pulled stranger things so they could have the content exclusively under Netflix’s branch/services to entice people to purchase their service.

In short, one company isn’t competing in the video game market themselves while another is trying to disrupt and compete in the video game industry.

  5. since bubba is a standalone dlc it would be an even easier task to remove him…
but if they do the question remains what happens with the killer and the cosmetics, they cant just rob u so hes either still playable or u had to get a refund 😀
