for the record im not saying legion isn't piss-boring to go against as they always have been. they are nowhere near the level of bullshit that was forever freddy though
I generally agree with you most of the time Scott but I can't be with you this time. Thanatophobia might be just 2% buffed but with because gen time increased too it's effect became much more stronger than just 2%. You're right with saying this applies to every killer but Legion and Plague has the most effective powers of making survivors injured and/or making them stay injured. So easy 22% slowdown on 90 second gens if not any other slowdown or regression perk is pretty problematic if you ask me. And let's not forget about Legion's new "ruin" add-on please.
And I think taking down survivors as Legion is pretty easy as dead hard is annihilated and sprint burst is pretty much useless against them (if not never-sleep pills of course).
People have been complaining about forever Legion since the rework, is not a new trend, it has caught momentum because its a prime example the buffs were done without much tought, Legion was awful to play against before and now is even worse.
legion got buffed with the rework and is actually a good killer now. survivors just hate the endless mending. well we hated the instant gen pops^^' its just a different playstyle in general and the hate on legion is just because they are played more and thats it
In my experience its more about survivours still not playing around the 5th frenzy hit properly, giving the legion free early hooks and forcing survivours to heal for the unhook. Legion just got a bit more punishing but I personaly still enjoy versing him since you actualy get to do a lot of looping without the risk of getting bamboozled by annoying fake a** pallets >.<
I have been saying this for weeks to my friends that the Thana buff isn't going to do really anything and Legion is gonna be the same but they didn't believe me whatsoever. I don't get it.
I personally hate Legion just because of Never-Sleep pills and Mural Sketch. With zero exaggeration, every Legion Iβve been against since 6.1.0 has been using those addons, itβs so annoying to have to mend constantly because theyβre chasing that 5 hit down.
THATS why thereβs no Forever Plague or Forever Wraith, because Legion doesnβt just injure you; he puts you in Deep Wound. That means each time he hits you in power (which with NSP and Mural is CONSTANT) you have to mend for 12 seconds before doing anything else, and because of how long you can Frenzy with NSP you could get hit for the second time in the same frenzy up to A FULL MINUTE after getting hit the first time.
I win most games against Legion, but they do take significantly longer and are infinitely more frustrating.
/ Also quick side note, youβre right that we lost Ruin, Pop, etc. but we get Gift of Pain, Overcharge and Eruption- alone these perks are really good game delay now but stacked with Call of Brine itβs pretty crazy.
The better question is why did they buff thanatophobia? The perk was fine as it was. Why do they want oppressive slowdown perks in the game after increasing gen times? It's a weird decision.
Itβs just that more people play legion recently (at least I encountered more legions recently) and itβs just so boring to go against especially if you have a shit solo team
You forgot about the mending, and the mending addons, and the fact that you cant dead hard against a legion now because you are probably in the mend state.
They were always like that, since the rework. People are just starting to play them. Their only strat is to bounce off survivors and hope they grind out downs or pallets
aaa yes wraith can injure people just as fast as legion almost forgot, besides you forgot that there are more slowdowns than just thana , you can run gift of pain pop , pain res dying light etc
Number stuff for time to finish gen from 0 to 100%. Old Thanatophobia: 80 seconds +16 seconds = 96 seconds with all survivors injured. New Thanatophobia: 90 seconds +19.8 seconds = 109.8 seconds with all survivors injured.
Also, after looking at the patch and stuff, part of me has been thinking of putting a "type" on perks and limiting a build to only have 2 of the same perk type. Might be nice for build diversity and less "stack gen slow" so the survivors can't play. Though some "types" aren't as obnoxious as stacking "Gen slow", I'd day "Healing" & maybe "Endurance" though? Uncertain, just some food for though kind of stuff.
I think there are a couple of misconception about the "nothing changed that much, so why complain about Forever Legion now?" First, Legion was always a huge pain when paired with thanatophobia, and I think you agree with this. For what is worth, I always called it "forever legion" in this scenario, because even if less strong than forever freddy it was the "next best thing". Second, the buff to thanato is almost negligible (but hey, it does add up, mind you), but the pretty big nerf to gen speed CERTAINLY means something (a gen with 4 stacks of thanato would take 96 seconds in 6.0, in 6.1 it would take 110 seconds..). The argument that every killer can benefit from the same numbers together with thanato is not taking into consideration that Legion is arguably the easiest killer to injure survivors with.
(also, it's not true that people are not complaining about Forever Plague – they are, it's just that there's less plague players around)
…plus there's the mending time. And being unable to use endurance… I'd say there's plenty of reasons to complain about Legion atm, even if I love to play AS them (…but not with thanato), "forever" legion is just a name that elicit an immediate response to old players, but it could be called "very enjoyable legion", the problems would still stand the same.
what i can agree on, is that legion is boring to go against and somehow legion mains came out the woodwork because they think they are op, so every 2 matches, 1 is against legion and it's boring (and i want to play killer but killer queues are insanely long)
I had a legion use thana + gift of pain + pain res, if I did my math right it's like 130 sec, assuming all people injured. Still not as bad as forever freddy but still pretty annoying lmao
Today i had a match where I played against a legion with Thanataphobia, Euruption, Third seal and Pentimento. The game took 25 minutes and we all escaped and everyone got 10k objective category. The game was so boring that at the end game chat we had a chat about how boring the game was. Also 2 of us saw your video. I can confirm that it is now the forever legion because of that "fun" match where if my soloq teammates all had selfcare , then the game was gonna be over
Forever legion comes from stacking thana with eruption and filthy blade.
Any sort of regression is made more valuable by thana because it takes longer to reverse that regression. Legion can run then run the filthy blade to add 4 seconds to mending time. Then use either Julie's mix tape so that if you stun them, they get their power back or stab wounds study so that every time you mend yourself, he can just come right back to you and stab you again.
Then the legion uses boring hit and run gameplay where they just constantly have people injured for thana and only really taking easy downs and wearing down the pallets through a war of attrition. He constantly goes around giving people 16 second mend timers if he can't get a quick down on them. He goes around applying eruption to generators which will cause it to lose 2.5% up front, then 10% later when he gets a down, often on 2+ generators and sometimes also forcing a survivor off the generator where they can do nothing 25 seconds. That's between 11-14.5 seconds of regression per generator he kicks, depending on the number of thana stacks. If he only kicked 2 gens, that's potentially 29 seconds of regression.
That's just with 2 of his perks. You can also throw on pain resonance so every down that you manage to get on scourge hook causes an additional loss of 13-17 seconds and combine it with call of brine. Even if a generator you kick only averages 20 seconds of regression before being stopped, that's an additional 10-13 seconds of progress lost from CoB. If the survivors are interrupting that regression earlier than 20 seconds, that means they're grouped enough for you to chain hits and give out multiple mends which is even more valuable than the progress loss from CoB.
Alternatively, you could run it with plaything pentimento so that the survivors have to choose between a collective 112-143 seconds cleansing totems depending on thana stacks or giving you easy downs because you're playing hit and run with play thing.
Legion sucks, so it's not unbeatable by any means, but I've had solo queue games against legion doing that where we ended up getting 3/4 out, but the match took over 25 minutes. I've also had a legion game like that where after the first 10 or so minutes of it 2 of my teammates decided they would rather not play, so they just ran at the legion and let him kill them. To be honest, I don't blame them.
Idk why people crying about legion. Killers are supposed to be the power role and yet for years they were a joke and survivor is autopilot mode with easy pallets with 0 mind games everywhere. This is why I main survivor and now at least there is almost kind of a slight challenge, sort of… But not really. Still easy mode.
People gotta remember Thana and Gift of Pain kind of go against each other, especially woth Legion. Thana works when players are injured and Gift of Pain deactivates when you injure a survivor again. They work well as backups for each other, but ultimately since Legion will be constantly Re-Injuring survivors over and over, he'll miss out on value for one perk or the other.
I just chalk it up to Legion being hated since day one and people forgetting why they actually hated Legion in the first place, then looking for problems to justify it again.
I also think "Forever Legion" is cropping up in a "meta OCCURENCE" situation. In a sense, a lot of people are playing legion right now, meaning a lot of survivors have that sense of "Forever Legion" because of the longer games with the thanat + frequently playing against legions with the same build/similar builds. Thus, even though the individual games might not be as long as FF, it feels close enough when you have back-to-back-to-back legions.
I believe the problem is with the build : Hex: Pentimento, Hex: Playthings, Thanatophobia and Dying Light. This makes the game against both Plague and Legion sooooooooooo boring. I wouldn't complain if they both had a better game if they build wasn't about making the game eternal. That's not a great way to balance things Ie believe. As you may know, holding M1 is not the funnest part about DBD. In solo queue you can't ask people to live with Playthings being activated, you have to know what totems were activated with Pentimento. If you're on a team, you don't necessarely have the most tryhard team in the world so they may not remember where they broke a totem… Sometimes people have totem challenges so it makes the build stronger overall…
The thing with legion is that he can run the extra mend time addons and you HAVE to mend. with ruin your gens will be regressing while mending and thanatophobia is just always been op on him.
I find it ironic that survivor mains are saying how killers will bitch and moan that the meta perks were nerfed and yet they are actually doing that against 2 percent buffs and needs to dead hard, and I barely see killers complaining lmao
Allow me to counter your arguments with numbers: -Old Generator Repair Speeds: 80s (96s with Thanatophobia, 110.4s with Thana + Dying Light 6-Stack) -New Generator Repair Speeds: 90s (109.8s with Thanatophobia, 126s with Thana + Dying Light 6-Stack)
Now let's compare this to old Forever Freddy's Numbers: -Generator Repair Speed: 80s (105s with Thanatophobia + Add-Ons, 120s with Thana + Dying Light 6-Stack + Add-Ons for maximum effect)
Would you look at that! Legion somehow has slower Generator times than Freddy! But we're not done yet!
There's four Perks that I'd like to highlight would make Forever Legion even worse than old Forever Freddy, which are Hex: Pentimento, Call of Brine, Jolt and Eruption, three of which are renewable and one of which can slow the game down significantly more than old Forever Freddy regardless.
Let's start with Hex: Pentimento; since it increases the time to repair Generators by 30%, this means that repair speed against a Forever Legion is 153 seconds, if the Totem still stands!
Then there's Call of Brine, which increases regression speed by 200% (to 0.5c/s). With Thanatophobia and Dying Light alone, non-Obsession Survivors repair at 0.6c/s, meaning they are individually only slightly faster than Call of Brine. With the addition of a 2.5% instant regression, this more than makes up for the small increase Survivors have.
But with no need for introduction, the one, the only, Jolt is here to also hurt Survivors. Jolt regresses any Generator within a 32 meter radius by 8%. With the increase to 90 charges, this means that each time a Generator is popped by Jolt, it loses a whopping 7.2 charges. Per down. And you can spam it due to it having no cooldown.
And finally there is Eruption, a sneaky little Perk that regresses Generators by 10%. This means it can instantly regress 9 charges from a Generator, and with dear old Jolt, can regress all Generators within 32 meters by 16.2 charges.
But then let's go back to the repair speed of Survivors for a moment. I mentioned back with Call of Brine that non-Obsession Survivors repair at 0.6c/s individually. Well, if you look at the numbers I presented as "charges", you can increase them all by 40% in order to get the amount of actual time it would take to repair the Generator back to where it was with only one Survivor.
This means that Generators hit by Jolt and Eruption take a whopping 22.68 seconds to just repair back to their original charges. Or with Jolt alone, 10.08 seconds.
While old Forever Freddy could cause Survivors to take around 30 seconds to repair a Generator from Pop, Forever Freddy had limitations of hooking Survivors up to only 12 times. But, due to the nature of Eruption and Jolt being infinite, this means that Legion can just consistently get more Generators regressed and slow down the game more than Forever Freddy.
Oh and if you still aren't convinced that Forever Legion may be a problem, try out Hex: Pentimento, Jolt, Thanatophobia and either Call of Brine or Eruption.
If Survivors don't ever cleanse the Pentimento totem, then for every time Jolt and Eruption proc, say goodbye to 27.54 seconds of Generator progression (or just 12.24 seconds with Jolt). Or whenever Call of Brine procs, say goodbye to an instant 3.825 seconds and then an amount of regression exceeding the Survivor's ability to progress (0.5c/s regression vs 0.3c/s individual progression).
Lasting Legion (as I'll coin it) is going to be more toxic than Forever Freddy was.
I feel like you are missing the point entirely by saying other killers can force Thana as well Legion is not just about the Gen slowdown but also making survivors mend several times a match
I kill myself on hook with legion, ever since that new music dropped with perk buffs its Legion 5 out of 10 killers. I can't. I just can't do it no more. Even baby legions.
for the record im not saying legion isn't piss-boring to go against as they always have been. they are nowhere near the level of bullshit that was forever freddy though
Completely unrelated question but does someone knows at what prestiges you get all 3 parts of the bloody cosmetics for characters?
I'd say legion on sadako are the only 2 killers with no downing potential inbuilt into their power
I generally agree with you most of the time Scott but I can't be with you this time. "Where's forever Wraith?" In the dustbin because Wraith slobbers the boody juice out of every survivor

Thanks for the video Scott.

I mean with every legion rn running never sleep pills it's makes "forever legion" a lot more viable since you get a down on your fifth frenzy hit.
People are insisting Legion is OP now and I strongly disagree. Legion's not OP. Legion's just fucking obnoxious the way so many people play them

The thing with legion is that he can run the extra mend time addons and you HAVE to mend. with ruin your gens will be regressing while mending and thanatophobia is just always been op on him.
Yeah.. Legion is nothing compared to forever Freddy. Stay spread, prioritize gens over healing and Legion is just another weak M1 killer.
Forever Legion came from the fact its a pretty decent update and people need something to bitch about

In a high level game, what Scott is saying is true but for everyone else that doesnβt play in a high level I can see why people are complaining
