In this DBD video I’ll be discussing ideas like adding Voice Comms, Ping System, Text Wheel, Basekit Kindred, and more. In an attempt to find a healthy solution to buffing solo queue without also making the game easier for Survive with Friends.

  1. I find the Solo Q to be fun on the most part, especially when I get fair killers and survivors who're happy enough to help me out as long as I return the favour and whatnot. It's kind on odd that whenever I play in a SWF I don't rank up too easily but when I play Solo Q I'm ranking up considerably faster which is relatively odd.

Whenever a Survivor is hooked I drop what I'm doing and run for the hook to save the Survivor, as soon as I unhook the Survivor I do what I can to ensure I make the Killer focus on me for as long as I can to ensure the Survivor is healed. I am rather bad at looping and not too good at lasting in chases but if I'm able to buy at least 20 seconds I'm more than happy. I don't care if I'm already injured or on Death Hook, I rather prefer ensuring other players get to keep playing the round even if it means I die in the process…… I still get Blood Points after all, so it's a win win situation for me.

As for Perks I bring Perks like Borrowed Time, Desperate Measures, We'll Make It or We're Gonna Live Forever and Detectives Hunch to destroy the Totems and any Hex Perks the Killer might have in play. Hilariously enough I have destroyed Hexes like Ruin, Devour Hope and some of the annoying Hexes within the first minute of the game and destroy / prevent NOED from spawning in (which is hilarious since the Killer gets no use out of the Perk).

  2. As long as any buffs only apply to solo queue. Kindred basekit ONLY for solo queue survivors and I might be okay with it. If SWFs get any advantage, it's breaking the game even more toward survivors. And what are you talking about, everyone would need to speak English? The fucking servers are region locked, that comment is braindead. 99% of the people in your English speaking region are using English, voice comms would be fine. Any of these buffs require a massive Killer buff though. The Killer only wins because of solo queue and survivors playing badly and not having comms. Comms make the game easy for survivors. Killers would need to be buffed significantly to account for this.

8:25 New players, they fixed the grind and made Killer fun so the game is no longer dead.

  3. I think next to the portrait there should be a small icon to the bottom left indicating what they're currently doing: If they're on a generator display a generator icon. If they're on a hook but have Slippery Meat or Deliverance show that perk's icon if it's still their first hook state. If they're being chased display an icon of a foot or someone running. If they're hiding crouched show a crouched survivor icon. If they're healing, show a medic kit icon. If they're exhausted show a different color to their name to indicate that they cannot use their dead hard or sprint burst. If they're in a locker show a locker icon. If they're opening a chest show a chest. Right now you can only see survivors who are broken, and if they're on hook, wounded or dying and that's about it, if they're the obsession you can see if they're in chase. You get no information outside of that, which shouldn't be the case.

  4. When I play Surv, it's almost always solo queue, and let me tell you, my MMR the past month has dropped a TON! I've been tunneled and facecamped so much I am now being sent into matches with default Jakes that just crouch walk in circles in the corner, Meg's that run up to a Cenobite and try to "boop" them, only to go find out the killer isn't friendly, but STILL TRY TO BEFRIEND THE KILLER! Then there's the Bill's that try to tough out a gen while the killer is coming, and the gen is only at 30%.

Just today I had 6 games where I was the only survivor to have any perks equipped! I AM IN MMR HELL!!! I get tunneled after running the killer for 2-3 min with only Overcome as an exhaustion perk, and no gens pop, I get on hook and I see noone on the map for about a min, then I see the killer pulling them out of lockers!

How did I wind up in this mess? I memed about and got ZERO escapes for about a week. did my Tome challenges that required throwing the game to take the white glyph to the basement, etc. and now I's joining up with streamers I find active to get into SWF groups, even if it's just a Duo, just to get my MMR back up.

    Lessons Learned:

1,) if you are going to do a challenge that throws the game, only do 1, then get 4 escapes before doin another.

2,) SWF if you can, even if you aren't on VC, because ever since Whiskers came out, the killer sweat is real.

3,) if the killer isn't being sweaty, or is being friendly, play along, but don't trust it completely, remember that it could be an act with a nasty endgame build, or Rancor + Nemesis

    ——————

my recommended buffs for Solo queue:

1,) Icons to show what teammates are doing

2,) an Icon to show who is in the killer's TR, or just make their portrait have a red glow around it

3,) let survivors see who is in a SWF in pre-game lobby

4,)let survivors try to Kobe, but only 3 times (or 6 with slippery meat) but not cause hook timer to accelerate.

5,) let both killer and survivors see what LEVEL of perk a survivor has in each slot. this will help the survivors and killer know how strong the lobby is and decide if they want to stay for the trial.

6,) light up gens with green auras for survivor in chase if a teammate is working on it.

7,) give the hooked survivor a chat wheel to push if the killer is camping, or what direction the killer left towards, and also if the hook is trapped.

8,) if a Survivor is AFK, or just stationary for too long (30 sec past 3 AFK birds time, replace them with a Tutorial Bot and give them the DC penalty, or just end the trial with BPs earned so far for everyone but them, give them DC penalty, and return all offerings, items and addons the other players brought with them. (I'm looking at you, Claudette Mains!)
    —————–

    what NOT to do:

1,) Voice Coms, pure toxic cringe is all that can come out of this

2,) Kindred basekit would be too much, aura reading is WAY too strong to be basekit for either side

I play both killer and survivor, and I can tell you Solo Queue survivor is more brutal than going against a full 4 man SWF with 3 bullies and a gen-rat on old RPB with the hookless library!

  5. Still do not see why base kit Kindred would be to OP if you simply delete the aura reading affect for killers? This way you do not know where the killer is going after hook and it allows better unhooking. So many times I get off my gen and run halfway across the map only to find another teammate there.

  6. 4:57 There is a convent little gap between the edge of the screen and the survivor portraits, along with up to 3 status effects can be shown on top of their name (Maybe give a priority like exposed, incapacitated, broken, etc.)

  7. Voice comms would be worst thing that happened to the game since its release.
I get swf only for events on dbd discord server, i clearly ask for 18+ players and i still get squeakers joining in and then im being asshole for not wanting to play with them.
No one wants to hear 14 year old kid screaming on most random things while he thinks he is cool for doing it.
Also i dont rly like people that talk too much, i asked to play with a team not to hear your life story. Call out what you have to and be quiet for the rest of it. We are not friends, we are just random strangers playing together to milk out as much BPs as we can during those events.

  8. Here's something hows about not removing the ability to pull urself of hook yeah it gets annoying when apps suicide on hook but I'd rather them do that than sitting afk. Which is see people do instead. Theres few killers I'd rather just DC or do that against and its thanta legions and pinheads

  9. this games going to end up the hardest thing survivors have to do is hold m1 on gens 🙁 dont give surviors kindrid , part of this game is deciding weather to go for survivor or stay on gen this is were you make time or not

  10. I have always been of the opinion that giving survs the ability to know simply if someone is being chased is a massive nerf to like 90% of the weak niche killer perks and make genrushing even stronger its one of the issues i have had with people saying "oh im just playing with my friends" excuse with swf when the simplest of callouts like "its ghostface" or "hes on me" things that people dont realise they at saying

  11. Killer games have been a lot less fun than solo queue. I just have been only against just 4 freinds and the max kills I have been getting lately is 2. Maybe my skill based matchmaking just put me against harder people or something

  12. I'd love to see a gens highlighted to survivors when someone is repairing them. Kills two birds with one stone.
Solos should be able to stop 3 genning themselves. Then when someone is hook there is still a lack of communication but smarter people can infer when someone is heading to a hook. Still leaving the ambiguity the devs want from survivors without coms up in the air.

  13. Base kit kindred, but minus see the killer's aura would be all that's needed. Then the perk kindred can still serve a purpose, allowing you to see the killer's aura near the hook.

  14. SoloQ needs better players that's all. The game is plagued BY POTATO PLAYERS. And then they expect to just be "GODS" and never do any mistake but they will make mistakes. Experienced players make mistakes so definetly scrubs will make plenty of mistakes. Barely anyone is willing to actually understand the game and the characters and the mechanics.

Bro you want something better than Bond or Kindred? RUN OBJECT OF OBSESSION! Every 30 seconds you'll see the killer. What else do you need when Object exists? " OH but i'll get tunneled…" LEARN HOW TO LOOP, BRING DS or DH. USE lightweight to make scratchmarks even more freaking confusing than they already are after the shadow nerfs that they've received…

RPoblem with DbD is the 5 years of constantly catering to SCRUBS now we have the issue where people are used to just getting what they want.

IT TOOK YEARS FOR DH to get changed…. i can count 3 years of personal experience dealing with DH for DISTANCE on every single SCRUB player.

  15. Your first point, in my opinion, is very unfair : you want to address people who suicide on hooks ? Ask yourself why they do that. It's not just for childlish rage quitting. In my experience, people who want out of a game are mostly (if not exclusively) people who got tunneled. That problem needs to be addressed first.

  16. One way I think killers should be able to see who is in a SWF at post game. However I also think that if some of these things are implemented then if 3 or more survivors are running the same perk then the killer should be made aware. Not necessarily who is running it, just that at least 3 survivors are running said perk. Often times when I come up against a strong SWF they are all running the same two perks, but have two other perks for their "Job". Like they all run Light Weight, and Urban Evasion, but two use Lithe and one uses Distortion, then two run Prove Thyself while one uses Circle of Healing. I've come across 3 man SWF with these kind of builds making it nearly impossible to find anyone on certain maps unless I happened to bring perks meant for locating survivors.

I'm not say killers should see all their perks, but if they have two running Prove Thyself then the icon shows up in yellow on the screen somewhere. If three are running Urban Evasion then it shows up purple. If all four are running self-care then it shows up red.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's a SWF, but on the chance that it is the killer can at least change their perk load out for a slightly better chance at the match. Good survivors will still win, but it won't be a killer just getting completely stomped.
