  1. I thought this was about me, I had an experience on Twitter literally today, I got scared, I’m being posted as in the wrong when there’s such a big and long story to it, albeit I was in the wrong at first, but after what happened, I got manipulated by said person portraying me as the bad guy.

  2. Every time i think a new dbd flavour drama of the week can't get any stupider im proven wrong time and time again. Literally the most nothing burger of a problem and yet by how much dog piling they were getting youd think he did something horrible

  3. I think it's valid to have minor criticism of what people may say during a match. Saying someone is "lucky," rather than crediting their skill is fair to comment on, same with trash-talking players for winning vs you. Taking it to a large platform like Twitter and making it into a big problem while ignoring all surrounding context is ridiculous, especially when it ends in harassment towards both people. I really don't think these situations are ever that serious and should be made this big of a deal when you're including the person's name; that should be kept private and made vague if you're commenting on it publicly, ideally using it to branch off into a larger discussion.

  4. I went against a four gen regression nurse today who slugged and tunneled all game on Easter morning, then delayed the game by 3 minutes by camping hatch instead of just closing it. I said horrible things to them in EGC and I hope it ruined their day. In fact I hope they never touch the game again because we don’t need players like that.

  5. I think to a certain extent toxicity is a product of streaming. If I play Dead by Daylight in my free time and I start getting mad, I can just stop playing for the evening. If someone streams DBD for multiple hours a day as their job, they don't have the luxury of switching the game off when they're in a bad mood and it can lead to mounting frustration and eventual toxic outbursts. I notice this with streamers in other communities too, it's not just a competitive game problem.

  6. Scott, how dare you vent about venting. I'm here for your takes on patches and the occasional cat video. Can't believe you, as a creator, are having opinions as if you were a real life person and not an AI made to entertain me specifically.

  8. Majority of people are idiots. Even more people you encounter in vid games. Even more in DbD specifically.
Stop caring what people are saying. You got lucky, got easy match, go on.

Edit: A lot of streamers talk a lot of shite and they shouldn't be 'cleansed' of it once the match ends.
But they shouldn't be witchhunted just because they are streamers

  9. I'll take it a step further and say that who cares about the endgame chat either. It's a game, as long as they're not making threats then who cares what they say.

  10. I made a huge mistake by visiting the DBD Reddit, and people on there get mad at stuff like this all the time. One post targeting Aryun because in a recent stream he said “This killer is a p*ssy” immediately followed by him saying “just kidding” all because the killer basically refused to chase Ayrun the whole match. He even went out of his way to say ggs and well played to the Wesker, but some Redditor got so heated by the word p*ssy being used, they go and make a 5 paragraph hate message for no reason, some people man.

  11. this kind of thing has bled into my own content creation where i feel like a horrible person if i get upset. i don't like being upset at the game, i might swear at someone offhandedly (not personally, just if i finally get a down on someone i might vent out) but like i hate doing that because it feels like i'm letting the game get to me.

now on the other hand, i don't think it's the venting itself that's the issue, when i see someone complain about a match that's fine it's a tough game, but it's what they do after or if they take the venting too far. i'm not going to defend someone that CEMENTS what they said or continues to vent after the match is over.

  12. Yeah as long as we can agree that calling someone “lucky” is not the same thing as calling them a slur or telling them to unalive themselves. Regardless of whether the only people who hear it are your own viewers during a stream. That’s not “minor venting” and it definitely happens to a frightening degree.
